I feel confused after this statement. Her main source of damage is spreading spores and toxin around. Do i miss something?

I think he meant she works worst against single targets, because her whole theme and high energy consumption is about spreading disease, so she excels on crowds by halfing there health while also allowing for crazy damage numbers in the right loadout. Yet on single targets (especially heavys) she struggles a bit, because the whole strength on her kit is to constantly spread procs and carry on more damage between mobs.

Its just that I'd like to be able to play any frame and be good enough with it to not die every two minutes.

As a casual player with 700+ hours in nearly 3 years this goal of mine just gets more and more out of reach.

Thing is, the same happens to many other frames. To make excal, atlas, wukong and valkyr excel you have to bring in a melee build that wont necessarily be good for that melee weapon, and makes the choice options far smaller. Most frames can be played casually, even Saryn, but dont expect to get the best out of a frame without min maxing even the loadout.

If you arent willing to adapt to the pros and cons of the frame, you cant expect to excel at every single content the game has to offer.

I don't really like snipers/tonkor/Synoid Simulor. I mostly use Prisma Gorgon as I found it can be very effective.

Having to use weapons I dislike is also -1 point for her(most of her builds I got recommended require those)

Then there are other styles. Building for toxic lash nets you up to 90% damage reduction on almost any melee, although some melee weapons are better than others for saryn.

As stated before any syndicate weapon for the procs that help ou on spores, Hikou with concealed explosives, tysis, torid, and many others. Its all about adaptng the uild to the weapon and vice-versa. She is quite strong at debuffs and exponential damage dealing because of how spores spread toxic damage, especially if you build her for range.

You may be probably more suited playing a frame and weapons more to your own style, thats why we have so many frames to choose from.

Problem is I die even with quick thinking and primed flow if I don't use health and shield mods.

One Bombard just instantly drains my energy and kills me.

Thats not useful or fun in any way.

    Same applies to Banshee.

Then you may need to change you game style. Lanka with Gas is a great weapon for ranged encounters and popping spores for insane amounts of damage, it will keep you far from battle and in a good spot.

Even though Saryn can be a tank to some extent, because of the way her powers where designed, it ends up not working that well.

  5. The way spores can carry on toxic procs makes her one of the best dps frames even in late game, when modded properly.

Ive been able to out DPS a Mag on a orpus Interception even with her spamming Shield Polarize. As long as you know her mechanics and how to deliver damage with her, she is outstanding. Her main issue is how she is really dependant on the team for specific maps, but even then many frames are.

She only needs a few tweaks to Molt, and a bigger stun time on Miasma so she can have a oh sh!t button to get some air and thats it. The rest is working really well.

  6. When a sortie reward gets checked, if you are rewarded it again it automatically converts into 25-50 rare cores.

So the droptables dont change when you get on of the rewards that has a checkbox, its just that if you get awarded that again its converted into cores. They made that change because many players where tired of getting 5 Nezha Chassis, and cores are more useful for the late game (maxing those damn primed mods).

I think you wouldn't notice the difference anyway since bombards and napalms have a higher armor than they do damage. They will deal pitiful damage that you won't notice anyway.

Blast proc knocks you down, heat proc CC and many other effects from the blasts are also welcome in the equasion. The Tar Moas goo slows us down but doesnt affect any other infested unit, and so forth. Just sayin, if Tonkor is going to be changed based on the idea of "realism" and other explosive weapons, then apply it all across the board.

Head-shots from radial damage always seemed crazy to me; they're hitting everywhere not just a focused shot in a weak-point. And if you want to start working out the math for the part that hit the face vs the part the hit the rest of them then you'll have to start working out how much missed them entirely, too, which is not a road you want to go down.

Similarly I find it surprising that such a powerful explosive weapon has no meaningful self-damage: a single shell that blows up a dozen infested but barely scratches you seems broken IMO.

Same self damage tht doesnt happen to napalms, bombards and any other enemy unit that has any kind of AOE blast weapon or ability.

  9. I just notice that megan has the ring on the other side irl ^.^ just sayin the rest is just perfect !

Ah yeah, problem is theres only the ring on that side for now. Once somebody releases it on the other side, Ill be sure to update. :)

  10. Very nice.

Just one question. Whats with the names of the classes? I'm pretty sure that Auto-Rifleman and Junkrat are not classes in XCOM 2.

I played once on vanilla, now Im on a test game where I added a bunch of mods to test out and see what suits me and what doesnt. Also to see what is worthwile, so there are many many classes I added to test to add on the the vanilla experience. Theres quite a few that are great.

  11. Steve needs his beanie.

Messed up on that, will change it when I update the characters.

You gave Sheldon the beany and not Steve? And no pink shorts! \(>.<)/ Other than that I think we have the perfect picture of what DE looks like preparing for 18.5

Will fix the beanie part. Didnt give him pink shorts cause Im waiting on a mod that adds shorts, as soon as i have that customization option he will be getting pink shorts :p

  12. So I've been playing a lot of XCOM 2 since its release and on my new playthrough I decided to add in people that work at DE (started with Devstream and Prime Time people) because I thought it would be fun.

Be advised there are limited resources when building characters, so most aren't accurate, but I tried to make them fun, while also adding a personal biography for each developer. I intend to make more of these in the future as my playthrough advances, but for now my main squad:

    2016-02-17_00001_zpskdggrej9.jpg

Each character separately, with the biography:

    1 - Megan

    2 - Rebecca

    3 - Geoff

    4 - Scott

    5 - Steve

    6 - Sheldon

And here the squad in action:

Again this was made for fun, as I enjoy custom made squads. If anybody wants any of the characters I can upload the character pool with the custom DE team. :)

  13. We try to discuss topics that appeal to all platforms unanimously. Because Focus is in flux right now, it's not an appropriate topic for these threads.

No offense, but the current focus system ties in directly to the many complaints about Draco.

Want to power level, go to Draco. Want to get syndicate rep, go to Draco. Want to have some chance at getting decent focus... surprise, go to Draco.

You guys changed a system that was bad, as it meant people had to hog kills, into a system that it doesnt really matter if you hog kills, the gains are so low, and solo players have been given another middle finger from DE. We keep getting pushed into palying the same exact leveles over, and over, and over, and over again because of the same game design on every single addition.

Currently we grind for ducats, to get primed mods, to then grind for cores. We grind Draco to quickly level and reforma weapons, while getting syndicate rep and focus, to then use these to grind for ducats to then grind for cores, and so forth.

You guys keep promising end game, or even a better reward system, but atm we keep getting pushed into playing the same missions over and over and over again. So sorry, focus should have been put up here in the discussions, as the changes made are going to affect consoles. So we have to wait a month until this hits consoles, for them to realize how bad it is, and then we discuss it so maybe it gets change sin like what, another 2-3 months?

  14. No talk about Focus... this is disappointing.

    EDIT:

    In response do Drew:

  15. But didn't DE say that Focus is now gained even when other people kill enemies? If so then the focus gain is almost the same as before the changes if you group up.

Sortie Mobile Defense, killed 250 enemies, thats just me, not counting the other 3 players. I earned a total of 3.2k Focus after around 15 mins of gameplay.

Before this patch, if I ran a stealth exterminate with 60 enemies, I would come out with 7k focus.

So no, it aint the same, and the game shouldnt revolve aorund only grouping up, solo players already are hit hard on many angles, why make even focus unfriendly to solo tactics?

  16. Sorry but this event isnt my cup of tea.

Just did a run with randoms, on the Endurance one, and even though they already know the mechanics, telling an Ivara to stop putting the boss to sleep, cause he wasnt getting dropped by the bursas resulted in a 30 min fight even after me and another player telling him to stop in different languages.

I like puzzles and challenges, but DE has to start adding specific warnings so players stop doing certain things after the 20th time, like using a survival capsule when you are at 90% air and so on.

  17. Did 2 Stealth runs, Loki + Tonkor.

First run 66 enemies, got 2 Convergence bonus, had 7k focus total at the end.

Second run, 88 enemies, 3 or 4 Convergence bonus (cant recall if 3 or 4), and gained around 6.8k focus.

More enemies, and more Convergence drops to boost my focus, and I ended up with less focus than when I had less enemies.

As a note, prior to the patch, a 88 enemie run would net me around 11-13k focus, so yeah somethings rally borked on the new numbers.

And on the Mobile Defense sortie I rank Ivara and a paris prime, both lensed, and I got 3.4k focus after 250 kills and with a full 4 man squad. Thats really herat breaking that playing high leveled content barely gets you any focus.
