  1. They've already leaked her abilities.

1: Turns shield into an attack.

    2: Undecided.

3: Paralyzes an enemy(assuming only one) and buffs nearby Tenno.

4: Soaks all damage and ignores it all but takes all of the damage if she fails to kill all nearby enemies.

This is their best idea at a Berserker?

It makes me sad, I had such high hopes for this frame.

Those aren't leaked abilities, and no those aren't hers, those were examples that were mentioned by Scott to the Design Counsel, he even said they were just ideas, and that "Nothing is set in stone", this is just a poorly mistranslated rumor.

  2. How bout you get off that escalating horse of yours?

there's a BIG efin difference between an AAA  single player title with online components that was an end of a trilogy to a free 2 play game.

Mr know it all smarty pants , at the height of ME3 life it got a bunch of players... ok great lets say 4-5 mil players.

of those 5 mil statistically speaking only about 50-60% would even care about that multiplayer further more of those maybe 10% at best would be concurrent players. Warframe while not boasting 5 mil players total , had hundreds of thousands of players playing it for many hundreds of hours and its just the freaking Beta  phase of that. once warframe is deemed complete at some level and is out as a launch title it will already have an installed base.

and since its a free 2 play game there will always be more content , more players to grab.

so yeah , mass effect 3 has nothing over this.

You do know that ME3 had enough players playing to release 3 major DLCs for free long after it's release, which featured new maps, weapons and classes and that the multiplayer had better combat gameplay/design than the actual base game, it also had weekly balance updates that went on for months and even hosted seasonal events and random developer made community events.  They even changed the added a matchmaking system that wasn't built into the game and revised it two times based on player feedback, a new website was also made as a hubspace for players to see all their in-game achievements and keep track of their friends and in-game progress.

I like Warframe, I like where it's going, but it is nowhere near as good as ME3's multiplayer right now, which was made by a small team with limited resources that had to reuse assets from another dev team to make a side project that turned out to be more creative than the actual game, Warframe has a long way to go before it can say it's better.

  3. @Stefe

I think the Corpus call the Tenno the Betrayers because it's implied that they betrayed the Orokin, long ago.

And the Corpus apparently worship the ancient Orokin, so...

    Betrayers.

It makes sense, the Orokin made the Tenno, we maintain the balance of the solar system, the Orokin made the Infested to kill their enemy, but also killed everything else, we killed the Orokin to maintain the balance, it all makes sense!

    I could be wrong.

  4. Yes.

This abomination should be voiced on so that it hopefully still has the potential to be changed.

Sitting back and letting the theme, mechanics, and art direction for the game get raped by someone's Braniac BDSM fetish is never a good idea.

Watch the livestream and pay attention to when they mention her, they didn't make her appearance to appease some weird fantasy, they made her to supplement the next big patch theme, and also if you'd paid attention to the Counsel thread, it clearly stats that the powers were merely suggestions and that non of them were even designed yet, they were just ideas to see what we thought of their power design direction, the only thing they said that they wanted to do was make her powers play with the game mechanics.

  5. This guy nailed it on page 2.

The people crying about how this frame doesn't have armor or isn't your "typical thickheaded brute" needs to keep in mind that berserkers are not "typical thickheaded brutes".

A: Berserkers rely on speed and consistent damage. NOT high defense and damage. Want that? Rhino.

B: Berserkers tend to not wear high defense armor. Usually, in MMO's or single player games with classes, they were leather or chainmail.

C: As stated in A - If you want an actual tank, use Rhino. One thing DE has been pretty good on, is making every warframe different in most regards. Rhino = tank, in every form of that word. Our new Berserker warframe is not going to be a copy of him. I'm quite happy with that.

D: "Why doesn't she have any armor on her/She looks so weak/etc" People who are saying this didn't watch the livestream. They stated specifically why she looks like her armor plating has been removed. The corpus had experimented on her (particularly Alad V.) and peeled off her outer skin. Supposedly, she was saved before they could totally dissect her (Or escaped. This is really assumption here. All we know is that Alad V himself seemed to have been trying to experiment on her). This means that the story itself is influencing how this warframe looks. I absolutely love that sort of integration.

E: The main artist (I believe his name is Mynki?) stated in the art livestream that the reason why certain warframes have certain "quirks" to their armor - like Ember's thighs, Frost's coat, Trinity's "lobster" skirt - is because it adds a certain uniqueness to them all. Instead of just making them into the typical trope appearance-wise, he adds a quirk here and there to give them more personality. He keeps the basic "trope" going - Ember = fire - but he accentuates the trope in certain ways to give those characters true definition. The Berserker frame is one such deal: She's a berserker: the trope - and she seems to literally have no armor appearance wise: the extreme. And it's all story driven. That's freakin' awesome.

Long story short: Most of you have a huge misconception going on. A Berserker is -not- a heavily armored lumbering brute. A Berserker is -not- a tank. This Berserker warframe will -not- be a female Rhino. She will be her own character with her own niche: The Berserker.

Thank you for listening to the livestream, please before anyone comment on her appearance, watch the livestream.

  6. v5ok.png

They said in the Livestream that her design has a lot to do with the lore, and that she ties in with the Corpus, if you look at her suit, you'll notice it doesn't look like any of the other frames, and if you look at her neck, you can see she has what looks like restraints attached.  The Corpus are known hunters of Orikin tech and they've already captured warframes, I think the Berseker is an escaped warframe, she looks like they peeled her skin off, she has exposed muscle fibers and has very little metal on her, the normal warframes are damaged/incomplete versions of Primes and she looks to be the most incomplete of all the frames.

  7. - Speed could be changed by Arc Charge (kind of mix of Rhino's charge and Excal's Slash Dash) posted here:

       https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/119692-ripping-volt-in-two-as-it-should-have-been/

       3xqa.gif

    - Shield should simply scale with stretch, they need to fix hit scan bug and range extension (additional electrical damage is fine).

Now that I think about it, Rhino could use this more, his charge is almost completely identical to Excals Slash, the only thing different is that charge does less damage, has shorter range and knocks enemies down instead of cutting them in half.  But if Rhino had some splash damage on contact with an enemy he could have an impact shockwave release to knock all enemies in the affected area.

Not trying to derail the thread, just giving some feedback, but back on topic, DE probably wouldn't consider adding another power like this to another character, they've mentioned that they don't enjoy the idea of reusing the same power behavior/concept, a similar discussion was spoken of in the Design Counsel about a power for the Berserker, DE didn't like the idea of power reuse.

  8. Actually... that would kinda make sense. The Greek word for butterfly, "psyche", is also the word for soul. Butterflies are also symbols of rebirth (including after death), which rather works for Nekros' symbolism as one who raises the dead.

But... the invocation of flies and other decomposer insects would generally be more fitting, from an objective standpoint.

Thanks for the trivia, I wasn't aware of that connection the Greeks had, I know my distant racial cousins Mexico believe that the Monarch carriers the souls of the recently passed, the general idea I would like to see is Nekros's nanomachines taking some form, he could have Butterflies as a counter for how many souls he has stored, while he could have flies and other corpse eaters attached to Desecrate, while Terrify could have locust spawning everywhere, I chose locust for their behavior, most cultures fear them for good reasons, they are seen as brings of famine which could work for Nekros since Terrify weakens enemy armor, an explanation could that they are consuming enemy armor, and some cultures believe that they are a sign of calamity so it could help with the fear inducing aspect of Terrify.

These are just some ideas I feel will help  give him some more charm, DE has said that he's supposed to be the shaman of Warframe but I notice that a lot of people view him as the biblical Reaper/Horsemen for obvious reasons, not that there is anything wrong with that.

  9. Our weapons were strong enough before the Corrupted mods were introduced, this massive damage increase is unwarranted and the change from recoil to accuracy is completely justified. They're not 100% necessary in your weapon build and I think the decrease in accuracy is the only disadvantage which could put people off the increase in damage, which is a good thing.

As far as comparing the usefulness of this mod on different weapons goes; some weapons are more accurate than others, you should have always taken this factor in to account when choosing one.

It's a shame some people blew a lot of cores getting these mods to the max level, I personally have my Magnum Force 8/10 and now it makes my Acrid shoot three projectiles in a large Y shape, which I think is hilarious and I'll be continuing to use because the damage increase is so substantial I don't mind using it like a mid-range shotgun. S#&$ happens.

You can't complain about weapon balance and the change from recoil to accuracy at the same time, you need to find the right amount of damage to inaccuracy by yourself.

The mod change is justified, but the issue is that some weapons like bows are considered to be the most accurate of all weapons, yet with these mods they are worse than some of the most inaccurate weapons such as the Boltor, and another problem is that there isn't a way to counter the new stat, making certain weapons incompatible, which defeats the purpose of the new mods, they were clearly intended to open up new build ideas, but some of them just enforce one build beats all idea.

  10. Speed could use a buff, the speed isn't a problem, the problem with this power is that it doesn't help when being shot at, you would think moving faster would mean that you're harder to shoot, my idea is that Speed could give evasive buff, while under the effects of Speed, you would avoid enemy attacks so long as you are running, the balancing point to this is that we can't attack and run at the same time, it would give Volt an edge in tight scenarios, fight or flight, a good representation of this idea is Team Fortress 2, the Scout has an item called Bonk! Atomic Punch, it gives the Scout some defensive capabilities by sacrificing his offensive ones.

  11. I love the aquatic look to this frame, I'd love to see something like this in the game, but I just can't see water being used effectively to match a Tennos needs on the battlefield, maybe a support frame?  Hopefully it could be a support frame someday, and maybe people won't complain about all femframes being casters, which is an absurd thing to argue about.

  12. I support this, but only for the aesthetics of it, I think Nekros should have these buggers flying around him http://fav.me/d6l57w6 , but I think they should be on all his skills, Terrify should have them swarming around him and spreading out him, and he could have them on Desecrate as OP said, and have them swarm when Shadows of The Dead is cast, they could linger around the clones, he could also have them float around him to signify how many clones he can summon, one for each enemy slain by Nekros.

These bugs would also make sense on how Nekros works, he is explained to use nano technology to construct his clones but we don't really get that feeling when we summon them, most people assume it's just space magic with no explanation, it would also make his agile pistol idle look cooler, his current one looks like he's holding something and than he kills it, but since there is nothing in his hand he kind of looks crazy for trying to kill the air.

  13. I wasn't the only one here to believe that was what you meant to say, so no, I wouldn't concider anything about the way I read.

In any way, let's not derail the thread, we are all aware why we shouldn't.

You were the only one who mentioned my reply, but you are right, we shouldn't get off topic, because of the new accuracy stat added to the HC we need to have new mod made to counteract it's negative effects, have it's negative stat lowered to a more manageable level, or have weapons such as snipers and bows buffed in a way so they can use this mod.  That's my feedback on the issue, the mod currently doesn't support many weapons other than AOE types since accuracy isn't much of an issue for them, hopefully DE will make further changes to the Corrupt Mods to fix some of the unbalances they create with weapon/warframe builds.

  14. Yes, of course it is a great idea to release things as a developer that you haven't fully tested, or even THOUGHT about. Are you serious? This is their job.

It is like you go to the doctor and he just looks at you, you seem fine and he let's you go. Because, oh well, he didn't think you may be sick after all.

And again, you are not one of those who read the full thread or even the OP. Don't even bother replying.

I never said it was a good idea, nor did I implicate it was, I simply stated what appeared to have happened, I did not support it, I even stated that this kind of thing shouldn't have happened, maybe you should consider what you read before you post, like DE, they should have considered the full impact of the mod before they released it.

  15. See, here's the thing. When you introduce a new mod with various effects you should test it with all weapons you can jam it in to.

    Agreed.

Honestly, they should have made this mod exclusive to certain weapons, similar to how there sniper, shotgun, rifle, glave, and bow mods, this issue could have been avoided if it was made to work with specific weapons.

  16. How did they not know that some of the weapons THEY created had 0% recoil in the first place...

They most likely tested the mod on weapons with recoil to see it's effect on them.   They probably thought it would be pointless to test it on a weapon with no recoil since the results wouldn't require testing to find, which means they didn't fully consider the effects of this mod.  It's a common mistake that can be easily made by anyone, though that doesn't change the fact that it should have been notice.

  17. Strange, when I was first turned on to this, it was claimed to be work by DE. Whether it is or not, mostly everyone agrees the ability to spam skills has been drastically increased (for little-to-no cost on some frames).

Even though that isn't official, I like the idea a lot, the current energy system enforces a spam behavior, which reduces the value of utility skills and turns the game into a DPS races, hopefully DE will look into changing the current system.

  18. You are arguing semantics. And Warframe skills are 3 ranks. This is 10 rank rare mod. You can max warframe ult skill with about 10 cores. You need roughly 1500 cores to max heavy caliber. It's not even remotely comparable.

They are comparable, but you are right, they don't match in difficulty to level, yet that still doesn't entitle you to a refund,  I understand that Sphynx put a lot of time and effort in to getting those cores and credits, but none of that ever entitled him to anything like this, he is asking for a refund for something so petty, while he ignores the full scope of the change, the mod change doesn't just effect him, but it also effects the outcome of Dueling, Conclave, Armor 2.0, and future enemy design.  I'm not trying to devalue his time or his effort that he put in to the game, but there is nothing to argue about, this kind of situation was already covered under the Terms of Agreement, the best thing we can do is the same thing that lead to this nerf, and that's constructive feedback.

The mod was changed because player feedback showed that this mod was too powerful, it reinforced a one loadout playstyle, which DE has been preparing new changes to prevent this kind of behavior, if a small change like this is enough to call for a refund, than what will everybody do when Armor 2.0 hits, what will be the demands when elements are dependent on your critical hit chance?

  19. You're kidding, right? Dumping 600+ hours worth of Fusion Cores and 1.5 million credits into a SINGLE mod and having that mod change without any heads up or counterpart doesn't entitle an option to refund? It isn't even comparable to a Warframe. Warframes are ALWAYS going through changes, they always have been. This is the first time to date that they have ever changed a mod in this way.

No, it isn't, Iron Skin is a mod, Overheat is a mod, Fireball is a mod, the mod you're arguing about is only different cause it goes to a gun, not a frame, this isn't the first time a mod was changed, weapon mods have also been changed before, no one complains about those cause they were all buffs.  The point of your argument is that these mods were changed without warning and that it has never been done before, but it has just look at update 9.  Just like Warframes, weapons and mods will go through changes, for better or worse, but that doesn't mean we should all be refunded every time our investment goes bust.

  20. I agree, there should be an accuracy mod, and there most likely is one on the way.  But I can't agree with you on the refund part, by your logic everyone who invested into Ember and Rhino should be refunded for the changes they made to them, a good number the changes made to them had no official "heads up", Ember's recent changes were only mentioned in the Livestreams until patch-day.  I understand your upset with these changes, but you can't say it's that bad when compared to things like Ember and Iron Skin.

  21. DE has mentioned that "they" are looking into player trading, so this could be a way to raise the value of some weapons.

They also said that these weapons are being remove availability from the market, not the whole game, they could be turned in to Login Rewards, or they could become boss rewards, since now bosses have guaranteed drops, they need more than just Frame parts.  I could see Kril dropping Gorgon parts/BP, while I'd imagine Tyl Regor could drop the Machete.

But this is all optimistic thinking, I could be horribly wrong, we'll see!

  22. Yes that may be the case, but they do that in pictures or flare videos. They don't go from a battle stance with a rifle to standing like an idiot.

Actually no, they do it all the time, the charcter that do do this pose are usually the most skilled, they almost always stand in some sort of neutral pose, showing little regard for there enemies, Metal Gear's Ninja Cyborgs did it all the time, Ryu Hyabusa did it too, every evil character from Naruto did it, and even Shen from LoL, does it, it is one of the most common nija poeses out there, this is honestly the first time I've ever heard people calling it feminine, have you guys tried it with the Kunias, it looks perfect.
