  1. SIMPLY put; DE adds something into the game that could have been something challenging, rewarding and/or worthwhile from time to time

This is usually followed by an impending doom, extinction level event tidal wave of lower MR/ expects everything handed to them generation sadsacks complaining that they can't do said things with their rank 21 Excaliburs and Karaks and unfortunately DE alters or negates the challenging/rewarding aspects of these things so they become just another 'From A to B' meh-fest.

Eidolons? Meh, do your 3x3 and move on.

Profit-taker? Meh, solo that. Not worth the trouble grouping.

Wolf? Meh, can down him with a barely modded Sydon.

ESO? Meh, what's elite about it?

Nightwave challenges? Meh, Remember when you actually had to group for those?

DE is mostly to blame here, don't get me wrong. Having no discernable end-game and relying on 'Make your own endgame' is kind've a moot point. Just have everything everywhere and nothing to tell people 'Hey! Are you MR10? Weeeell, you CAN'T get here yet because this is the endgame' (Instead of 'You can get here, but this is harder than your typical content, so lets nerf it for you')

I still play, sure. I can still find something to do, just not for long and nothing that I'd ever compare to other games where clans or dedicated groups need to plan days to get together to tackle the endgame. Warframe, atleast in my opinion, needs that.

I understand some ppl might not like it, but using as an excuse the amount o player base is absurd, using the same logic why pvp still exists?

I new lots of clans dedicated almost exclusively to trials and ppl that loved to do and teach ppl how to do it, so im aware it wasnt a content for everyone, but it was a big deal for those dedicated to that.

That's not using the same logic at all. :L PvP doesn't need constantly fixing as described in the reply.

On the other hand. Trials were bad, yes. It was just a 5 minute run of 'Don't kill things, go from A to B, get an arcane.' that doesn't mean that Trials COULDN'T be more raid-y. Like a full on WoWesque raid with minibosses and collossal boss fights.

  3. Hi! I love you all, you're just decent folk debating the issues (and a few less-than-stellar trolls awkwardly shoved in, it's not their fault, they're just confused).

Nightwave used to have challenges that people needed help with. It WAS at a point where a message in clan chat would be 'Hey, can I get some people to help me with a 1hr survival'? Ofcourse, people without basic social skills chimed in on the forums with 'Hey, I don't have friends, please remove the (I'm gonna say 'harder' here in lieu of a better phrasing) harder challenges so I can go back to playing solo' not fully understanding that this game has social aspects for a reason, or better yet, not understanding the idea behind promoting team play.

Now, as DE pulled a Planetside 2 (Props if you get the reference) and listened a little too much to that side of the community, the 'compromise' was just to remove those types of challenges entirely. Now we're here. Challenges are simplistic and uninspired, the forums are abuzz with these kind of posts and the only thing to really do is wonder why they listened to the other side of the debates and acted as quickly as they did and made this happen.

Prestige ranks by all rights shouldn't offer anything unique but in true battlepass fashion SHOULD offer something a little more worthwhile than expirable credits for items you probably have no use for. Kuva, Rivens, Endo, Forma make it atleast a little worthwhile. Please.

  4. I don't post often though I've been around a long time. I don't often complain and often view those who do complain with some sort of scepticism and doubt that what they are complaining about is really worth the trouble to complain about it. I'm sure a lot of people reading this is going to follow suit with my general outlook but I physically find myself tired of playing this game as intended when a solid 8/10 times that Public playing comes into the equation, I'm met with a slap in the face and an angry Rhino yelling "Get a slide attack macro and a max range whip or GTFO". Ofcourse I view these things as cheap and gimmicky but when the alternative is Play alone or plod along after an MLG Leet Kid, performing 100 spins a second and clearing the map the game becomes less of a game and more of a Ubisoft AC generic follow mission on repeat. Last I checked Macros weren't against any rules as there is legitimate use for them but this is perhaps a step too far. It'd be great to see some form of limitation or acceptable use rulings on these that doesn't include turning into a map clearing blender at the click of a button.

  5. Hey Billy!

Are you looking for a way to whip your team into shape? Are you wanting to excel where you're usually falling short?!

Well look no further than Uncle Umbra's four easy steps to Arbitrations that even you can do at home!

    1) Sometimes it's better to forgoe a frame with the arbitration buff for a more useful support or utility frame! Even a tankier frame to give your squad some much needed bulk. (E.g: Trinity, Limbo, Rhino) or crowd control frames to better manage your enemy.

    2) Weaponry! Contrary to popular belief. You can bring more than one weapon into the arbitration! You can bring a Primary, Secondary and even a melee weapon! Remember, enemies are often protected in Arbitrations by drones, it's always a solid idea to bring a hard-hitting weapon that can bring down these drones as quickly and efficiently as possible! The Arca Plasmor for instance has a wide, high damaging spread that can easily catch and destroy these drones.

    3) Where possible, mod appropriately! Are those pesky Grineer getting a little tough to kill? Did you mod for Magnetic where you should have modded for Viral? Are you not stacking your CPs? Consider fixing your problem for the low-low price of 5 minutes of careful modding!

    4) Play smart..... Like.... Don't be that guy that goes jumping into a mobpile and thinks "HURR HURR HURR, I ARE DE SOOPAH LEE-"*dead*

Well there you have it, kiddo! Soon you too, can be ephemera clad and looking bad-ass.

  6. Hi! I love you all, really. You're just plain decent folk debating points. I personally disagree with the overall preface of your argument, though you do bring up some interesting points in there that I do agree with.

"FOMO" With nightwave is not the same as "FOMO" with alerts and it's important to remember that content has to cover a broad range of players with a logical progression. EVERYTHING can not be accessible to EVERYONE at all times, that would defeat any purpose in progression outside of progression for progression's sake but incentivising it in careful, well thought out ways is a positive thing. Nightwave is one of these things. Not everything is gated behind milestones, just a thing here and there, it doesn't make it impossible to accomplish the same as what others who can do this thing here and there can do without it. Hell, you can even make up the 5k here and there by hunting down the Saturn Six fugitives if you wanted to. 100 rep per dude without a booster on the Vallis. (Yes it's 50 fugitives you have to catch but they spawn frequently and it's a week to do it. You'd literally just have to do 7-8 a day) but above all else it gives the players that have put in the time a pat on the back and a nod of approval. "It's not fair that Player A can run Icecrown Citadel because he's level 80, he gets such nice stuff, why can't I do it at level 30?" This sounds, I hate to say it, like a privelidged 8 year old making daddy buy him a rolex because someone else has one.

To better accomodate the privelidged kids maybe they could make the Saturn Six Nightwave roll around again in the future and players can keep their progress, IDK.

  7. Easy! Give me an underwater, bioshockesque city that leads to a vast series of islands on Neptune. Neptune's shown to have raging storms, so make it a mechanic where these storms come on periods and present a real danger if you're caught out in one. Or that they hide a beastie to hunt if you intended to be caught out in it.

Well almost all my clannies havent logged in for 100-200+ days at a time, bring in more and yup, they dont log in either, its been a disturbing trend since the start, esp with people i know and have played other games with.  There "was" once nearly a reason to invest in clans when dark sectors and rails appeared, but like most features added here, they end up an abandoned 1/2 made mess in favor of the next "big" thing.

Just bad management on the leader's part! Find a real clan.

the bigger question is why would you even care what rank your clan is, clans dont "do" anything, they are just vending machines for gear, something that could easily be scrapped tomorrow with BP's being stuffed into a foundry upgrade and you wouldnt even notice or care.  Dojo's/Clans are just another in a long line of aborted 1/2 made efforts that screams *meh* good enough.

Well you see, Billy. Clans can be wondrous things. Sure, the bread and butter of clans is trading and blueprints but for those with social skills they can be gathering places of like-minded players. Skilled players. Players creating their very own Umbranoir Fan Club clans. I've even seen clans dedicated to trading and raiding, meeting and greeting. Gay, clans that're girl only, clans that are just friends goofing off. The wonderful world of clans is a beautiful place. I hope you learned a lot in this infomercial, Billy. Say Hi to you clannies for me.

  10. The way I see it is as follows.

I remember a while back when Cryotic and Oxium were introduced you could only get them from Excavations and Oxium Ospreys and someone on the forums chimed in with "That's not fair" Like it was any different to the rest of the game's 'Do A to get B to do C' equation.

You get relics from near enough every endless mission, spy, etc etc. You're bound to get duplicates of Prime gear that you're not going to need or can sell for more than a tuppence  running those relics and therefore ducats come as an alternative.

Baro up until now is the ONLY ducat sink available and his available items rotate, recycle and there's not always something 'new' or something needed in his stock, meaning you have a whole two weeks to continue building up ducats. Nothing in his stock comes close to costing 1000 ducats a pop.

Wouldn't worry about it. It's a one time purchase, you're always getting relics and therefore a means to get ducats.

  11. I’m very much a long-time player but I can totally get where you’re coming from, sir.

I get carried away sometimes, just doing my thing in a mission, not quite realizing I’m subtracting from newer players experiences of the game, unfortunately some people just don’t care.

Conclave (I know, I know. Wretched, isn’t it?) gives an option, I don’t remember what it’s called, that makes matchmaking be targeted around people of a similar rank to you and is completely toggleable. I think it’d be a great idea to include something like that (with an actual explanation on what it does to minimize community rifting).

If i remember right, it works this way:

    New Patch: 3 Gig

you start downloading, it shows 0 of 100%.

    You download 2 Gig.

You stop the download, start it again.

You are back at 0 of 100%

HOWEVER this percentage relates to the last 1 Gig, not the whole 3 Gig.

If you pay attention, you should notice that the progression bar will fill a lot faster.

Pretty much this, I’ve done it from time to time. Closed the launcher mid-update. Can confirm it picks up where it left off, but starts the remainder of the update as if it was installing anew at 0%.

Just means 0% of the remainder you have to download, it’s not starting the whole update again.
