  1. I'll need to run that mission to figure it out, but I'm willing to bet that it's The Indifference/The Lidless Eye/The Man in the Wall. I've heard reports of people hearing "Rap, tap, tap..." in missions, specifically the Void. But I haven't personally experienced it (yet) so I don't know if I believe that it happens. I don't know why he would be on Eris saying stuff...

  2. Before Umbra was released, Steve said that he was gonna have Umbras be different from Primes so they wouldn't be considered a copyright to Chinaframe or whatever. So, there was a lot of speculation on what this system would be, but now I'm curious... What is it exactly? There's alot of Umbra stuff that came with The Sacrifice, so I'd like to figure out what exactly this system is.

Steve said the Umbras would have their own special means of acquirement, and I'm willing to bet that this is through quests/mini-quests like what we have promised for Revenant. Mini-quests to get Umbras would be cool imo. DE doesn't need to take a year just to introduce another Umbra frame. Maybe just have another "Hunt down Umbra" mission sequence and get the backstory of each one, see what they had to go through. I'd like them all to get a backstory, give us all a reason to love them. Anyways, that's my guess as to what the new acquirement system is.

    The "Umbra System" was said to be a gameplay thing though... I have 3 contenders for this;

    Umbral Mods

    Sentience without Transference

An ability that erases Sentient immunities.

These all make sense. If each Umbra comes with a few Umbral mods, that would be amazing, but probably pretty broken if they ALL make the other mods in the set stronger. That would be op. If an Umbra frame is able to get more Umbral polarities in the future... well, as soon as 3 Umbra frames are in the game, assuming they all come with three Umbral Mods, well... talk about an Umbral build... literally every slot would be filled.

Sentience without Transference sounds plausible as well since I expect that each Umbra is going to have this. It would make sense for that to be their special gameplay mechanic since that's more of actual gameplay than mods are.

An ability that erases Sentient immunities sounds like it's a decent idea too. Excalibur Umbra really had no relation to the Sentients in his lore, so why he has an ability that erases Sentient immunities, I don't know. But it would be SO COOL if every Umbra had an ability that did this, and they ALL have their own voice that they battlecry with when they cast it. Excal has his, so it would be ABSOLUTELY AMAZING if the other Umbras have one too. PLEASE DE! It would be cool if they have their own, not just one that's a carbon copy of Excal Umbra's.

So what do you guys think this "Umbra System" is?

  3. I would like to see a Volt Umbra. He's been my main since the beginning, so seeing my speedy boi as an Umbra would make my dreams come true... like, especially if he gets a unique story like Excalibur Umbra, then that would be amazing... I kinda have a story for my Volt in the back of my mind that's kinda being worked on, but not really. I'd like to see something official though. Fighting alongside my Volt would be a dream come true.

I want to do this because it is my absolute favorite FashionFrame I have done of all time. It matches my Operator. I made a thread if anyone is interested.

I have him turned like that because I'm using his alt helm and I wanted to avoid spoilers.

    - Excalibur Umbra: I love this frame not just for looks, not just for function, not just for his mods, but for his story. His theme ("Take Away It's Pain") is also really touching.

    - Corinth: I personally don't care much for the reload mechanic, but Umbra seems to enjoy it, so I gave it to him as a welcoming gift.

    - Aklex Prime: My favorite secondary for a long time was the Lex Prime, but when I got it upgraded to Aklex, I loved it even more. Umbra can make them look awesome too.

    - Skiajati: I personally hate using anything other than the Skiajati with Umbra, that and I found a great way for it to sit on his back.

    - Helios Prime: I love this little dude. Scans things for me, deals tons of damage, and is a nice companion aesthetically.

  5. I'm not going to take the time to read every post in this thread, but I feel like this needs to be said.

@Knight_Ex... You claim that DE has cheated you/slapped you across the face/butt or whatever. But I ask you this; did DE promise you that people would have to spend years to get these weapons? Did they promise you that this would be your official token of "Honor" or whatever? They did no such thing. Heck, they don't have to give us weapons, that come with slots and catalysts PRE-INSTALLED

I am not going to claim veteranship since I don't know where I draw that line yet. I've only played for 2 years as of tomorrow, so I may not understand what it's like to invest so much time into... what, logging in once a day? I've missed many a day of login time. As someone else earlier in the thread said, it's really frustrating when real life gets in the way and you miss out on a lot of the stuff. I want to accept DE's gifts that they have bestowed upon us, but it takes time. I think that DE is making a good decision. Whether some of us like it or not. I only just got my Zenistar, yes, it took me what feels like ages, but I'm not going to sit here and talk about how DE is "ruining their game". THEY are the ones that worked off their own money make it. THEY are the ones that listen to the players AS A WHOLE, not as a single person. THEY created this game as a gift more than anything else. They made it FREE TO PLAY! You didn't pay money for these weapons. Maybe you paid to buy plat or Prime Access or something, but that was your choice. These weapons from the login reward system are not earned through any process. They are not earned, they are given. You didn't do anything to "deserve" them.

All this to say, I love this game, I love the community, I love the devs, but I don't think that this is the right mentality for some of us to be in. I know I'm probably going to get alot of backlash for this, but I don't care. I'll take the bullets and walk it off. DE doesn't deserve this, whether you're a veteran or not.

  6. Ooh, Stalker... He's fun.

"I wonder what's under that scary, smoky exterior. A heart of gold, perhaps?"  -Alad V

Stalker is really a joke to me now, but in my early days, well... I was actually scared of him. Like, I literally had fear in my heart when he started to talk to me on screen. Naturally, having chosen Volt as my starter and not getting another frame for a few months, I got absolutely wrecked. Like, he kicked my sorry butt to the floor, then disintegrated it. I got wrecked so many times I can't count. I would hide until my squad killed him, then I'd still be nervous until the mission was over.

I did get the Dread and Despair within like a month of playing though, with was nice. Didn't see a Hate bp until about 5 months ago, which was after a year and a half of playing. Still no War bp.. .but I have the hilt.

    Stalker is a joke to me now, especially when I'm running Umbra. It goes along the lines of this;

"Your crimes against *INSERT NAME HERE* will not go unpunished... Did you really think there would be no consequences?... I am your reckoning!"

    *Spawns in*

Me: Switches to Operator, goes Void mode, gets ready to shoot, Umbra kills him with Howl and a shot or two from his favorite shotgun, the Corinth. I just smile and go back into Umbra.

    -Operator energy/ regen (zenurik)

-Operator movement speed / ?? (Naramon)

    -Operator HP / ?? ( ??)

    -Operator Armor / ?? (??)

I will fix this real quick since I have the game open. (Sorry, my OCD (That I have totally been diagnosed with) is kicking in)

Madurai: Energy Capacity and Regeneration for Amps

Zenurik: Energy Capacity and Regeneration for Abilities (Void Dash, Void Blast, Void Shadow.)

Naramon: Movement Speed and Void Dash Speed

    Vazarin: Health Capacity and Regeneration

Unairu: Armor for the Operator and Void Blast Radius (Why we need a bigger Void Blast radius, I have no clue.)

I have Unairu contributed to the most as it was my first school and it's the one I use for RP. If you use Unairu, I would recommend working on Stone Skin as it does armor for the Operator and the Warframe. I have yet to get very far into Vazarin, but I think it would be worth it.

  8. Another little thing,

    2 minutes ago, Kaotyke said:

Its not far fetched that he could feel more paternal in time.

if he does eventually see us as his responsibility, it would be awesome for him to play Smiles From Juran for us. The Shawzin can't be all that hard to recreate. I really do want to know what this song sounds like... DE confirmed it is NOT Umbra's theme from the quest. (The song that plays when you view the quest in the Codex; To Take Away It's Pain) I really want to hear this song, and it would be awesome if he could play it for us.

  9. So I have a theory about Umbra. It's nothing big, but it's an interesting one.

So, Umbra was forced to kill his son, as we all know. This is why he was so driven to kill Ballas, as it was Ballas' Transference on him that forced him to do it. So... I understand that the Tenno helped Umbra cope with his memory, and he allows them to use Transference on him because they take away his pain. But I was thinking... maybe he considers us to be a semi-replacement for Isaah? I would personally be happy to call him Space Dad!

  10. Well, I have a few ideas.

You all remember those insane ideas we had for what is now the personal quarters? Well, I, along with many others, wanted to display my Warframes like an Iron Man suit display. Now, DE kinda listened to this by giving us the display in the quarters, but that's not nearly as impressive as the Iron Man suit display.

    latest?cb=20130610170415

Just picture the Operator standing there instead. (I made a Tony Stark Operator once to go along with my Volt Iron Man cosplay. It was absolutely amazing. I made my Amp look as much like an Iron Man suit hand as possible so it's like Tony is using the one hand like in Age of Ultron's opening scene.)

I mean, that would be absolutely glorious. The Railjack is plenty big to be able to hold several of these displays. It's understandable if you can only have 7 frames like in the displayed photo if DE needs to be space efficient, but just one in the Liset isn't good enough for me. There's just something about having worked for the Warframes you own, putting work into their builds, upgrading them, FashionFraming them, and then being able to stand in the center with them surrounding you like that... I get goosebumps thinking about it.

Anyways, another idea I had was that maybe there was some kind of operations room like in the Star Destroyers in Star Wars. A hologram displaying the battlefield like in the Clone Wars show, maybe some smaller consoles to serve... some, purpose... right? Not just decoration? I dunno.. I can't think of anything specific at the moment, but if we could get some kind of hologram to plan our attacks, that would be sick. ESPECIALLY if we can have missions with multiple Railjacks. PLS DE! We NEED the fleet battles!

  11. This is probably the wrong place for this. Lol

So, I decided to do a new Operator fashion. It turned out really good and I wanted to make my Umbra match. I was surprised by the result. I took some captura in The War Within Choice Scene, partly because it fits my aesthetic, and partially because of Fortuna hype.

Anyways, I just wanted to share my screenshots.

I'm gonna name each one, btw.

Wretched Things    (This having a double meaning. Hunhow's dialogue in The Second Dream was this; "But you're asking yourself; was I one of these wretched things? So, in this picture, there are two wretched things.)

I Killed Him... Isaah   (I have a theory that since the Operator believes it was them that killed Isaah, this is mainly the case because of the reverse Transference that happened when hunting Umbra. "The Transference flow has been reversed; usually it's Operator to Warframe, but now it is Warframe to Tenno." (Or something like that) -Starchild Ordis     I think that Umbra put his own thoughts into the Tenno, and now, like in my picture titled "Tears for Isaah", the Operator mourns for him as well. But, since the memory is no longer haunting Umbra, he is going to protect his savior while they mourn.)

I hope you guys like them as much as me! And yes, the mix-matched armor was intentional. The helmet is asymmetrical and so is the scarf, so I put the Skiajati on the back off-center and figured I'd do the same for the armor since it looked good. I considered doing the same to the leg plates, but that seemed like too much.

Space mom just messaged us... if she's in Tau, with other Sentients... who is the "we"? ARE THE SENTIENTS FIXING OUR INTERNET!?

In all seriousness, Hunhow's probably doing something to sever our Transference link and make Ordis flip out so he won't even let us inside the ship and Space Mom is fighting him with her fragments (Hence the "we").

Space Mom, keep fighting the good fight!

  13. All I want is a card game or chess. I had an idea way back in the days after TennoCon 2017 when the Umbra Warframes [DISCUSSION and APPRECIATION] thread was in full swing. I brought up the idea that the Warframes could become their own beings (I'm refraining from saying sentient, since that has a larger meaning in Warframe, but that's the word that fits.). I thought it would be cool if they roamed the ship when you weren't using Transference and you could play chess with them, each frame having a different level of skill. For instance, a frame with a lower IQ (Rhino; his abilities show that he's rather blunt and basic, he just uses the brawn.) would make bad moves more often. However, a frame with a much higher IQ (Nyx; she's the freakin' mind based frame. You can't HONESTLY say that she isn't reading your mind...) would have the highest AI.

It was just an idea, and I highly doubt that DE would ever do it. Besides, I want Railjack more than I want my chess to play with frames...

    Spoiler

The Man in the Wall would have the highest AI in the whole game...

Something that seems like it wouldn't be too hard to give us though is the ability to get a Komi board for our ship. The game already works, so why not?

  14. I was farming for the Ludoplex by hunting for Grineer Commanders on Draco, Ceres. I now know that that's not where you want to go to find them... ahem, anyways.

I ran this mission twice and in both runs I found the fragments for Oberon and Frost. So, I guess I can recommend Draco...? I ran a few runs of Telesto, Saturn and scanned the commanders I needed, but didn't happen to run across any fragments on my way. I wasn't looking for them though. On Draco, Helios scanned them both by chance. He didn't find any on Telesto though.

  15. Well, my story is interesting.

Jumping back a few years ago, view the popular LEGO property of Ninjago. I know, I know, you all are now thinking I'm like 5 years old. Just hear me out.

Since Ninjago was launched, it attracted my young self. LEGOs, as I'm sure is true for many, were a big part of my childhood. This new theme they'd created was nothing short of amazing. I had just about finished up with enjoying Star Wars LEGO sets (Likely because I could never afford to buy the expensive sets), so my friend tried to get me to watch Ninjago. I initially thought it was stupid and a waste of time, but he insisted and went as far as to buy me the first season for my birthday.

I instantly fell in love with the show and followed it for the first 7 years of its run. However, around the time season 2 was showing up, Warframe launched. I was not a huge "gamer" at the time since my parents didn't like the idea of me playing violent video games, that and they thought I'd set a bad example for my siblings. So, I continued watching Ninjago as my main means of entertainment.

Now, we get to good ol' 2016. This showed the 6th season of Ninjago, which was my favorite, and I was fully into ninjas and elemental powers. Now I think you all know where this is going.

The friend that introduced me to Ninjago had grown up in a family full of gamers. His parents and sisters all played big violent games like WoW, StarCraft, Diablo (Mainly Blizzard), and most famed of all, Minecraft. He was huge into games and we went over to his house to hang out one time. He and another one of my friends had been playing Warframe for a few weeks at the time and they would never take the time to play with me since they were so hooked. So, as we were hanging out this one Sunday afternoon, he convinced me to try Warframe, his main argument being that it was like Ninjago since it was like ninjas with elemental powers.

I was not disappointed. I played on his sister's account and she happened to have chosen Volt as her starter, which was great for me since Jay, the lightning ninja, was my favorite in the show. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and quickly asked my dad if I could get Warframe. He said no... I was very disappointed, but after some thought, I realized that he was just setting it up. My birthday was at the end of the week, so he was probably just trying to get it for my birthday. I was not wrong. I started my campaign the same day I was born. In a way, my Tenno is just as old as I am.

Ninjago has had a rough time. The LEGO Ninjago Movie could have been alot better and I think it kinda gave the show a bad name. However, like Bionicle (Which I was not lucky enough to experience), it is actually really deep and thoughtful. Even though it's put into a younger format and is kinda cringy therefor, it will still always hold a place in my heart, not only for what it is, but also because it introduced me to Warframe, and therefore so many amazing people and experiences. (It also has some pretty amazing soundtracks. Like, better than some movie scores. Even if you don't like the show, I'd recommend checking out some of it on YouTube.)

I would love to have customization options for all pieces since some color very poorly together it seems. But I do also see how that could be a bit of a coding and UI nightmare, so if we do ever get it, I'm guessing it'll be very far down the line, if at all.

Yeah, it seems like that would be the case. However, it seems like another reason that we don't have this yet is because alot of people don't seem to realize that this would actually take ALOT of work to pull off and make look good from a player perspective. Yes, it would take alot of resources to save and code and everything, but it would also take a ton of work for the players to make their stuff look good. This would be (I'll guess) about 25 different change-able color slots/areas. That's alot of work to put into changing colors. While it might have an amazing outcome, it seems like, in the end, alot of us would just say "Screw this, I'm switching back to the old system (by using the option that I firmly believe would need to be inside either the options menu or in the appearance menu). It's too complicated and time-consuming."

Now, I'm all for this idea. It would give FashionFrame a whole new meaning. However, I can't ignore the fact that DE could easily be wasting their time and money since it would likely not be used enough by the community for it to have been worthwhile.

  17. I think that DE has actually put ALOT of effort into coding the RNG for this thing. It never shows up for me unless I don't expect it. However, I think that there might actually be some things that the code can pick up on that gives it a higher chance.

I've noticed that he doesn't show up often for me. It's just a sad truth. I've wanted to study him for a while. However, (This is common knowledge by now) if you replay Chains of Harrow, he has a guaranteed spawn chance. He will appear randomly as well after you play the quest for the first time.

There is a guaranteed spawn after The Sacrifice as well, but I can't seem to pinpoint when it is. It seems like it's when you log in for the first time as Umbra. It's not immediately after you complete the quest like Chains of Harrow, but it is a fixed event. However, it has triggered for me when playing as my boi Volt Prime, so I don't know what triggers it. When playing as other frames he still says his standard line, but when playing as Umbra or Volt, he said his special line. The only thing that I think could trigger the difference is that Volt was the frame I used for the quest, or that maybe it's because he has the Umbral mods equipped.

Anyways, it seems like the game collects information on the way you're moving. I know this will make me sound like a conspiracy theorist, but hear me out. When you're distracted, your movements are generally less precise and don't exactly flow well. When you're in a rush, they're quick and exaggerated. When you're relaxed and in the zone, they're quick, but also precise. I could go on a little more, but my point is, the game could be collecting info on how you're moving to try and determine your level of focus. It can also probably collect info on how focused you are based on how many missions you're doing. (Jumping to the ship and back over and over again, doing endless runs for a while, coming back in, doing stuff, going out again, etc.) Using this info, it can probably tell if you're likely to run back to the Operator room and mess with Focus, for instance. (I often jump back to Operator to upgrade Zenurik if I got Focus during my last mission. It's almost a fixed occurrence, so it's possible that the game has collected this info and is using it.)

Based on what your current situation is, (Jumping to the ship and back, wandering the ship, etc.) the game might actually spawn The Man in the Wall. He seems to spawn more often when I'm jumping in and out of the ship. It's easier to spook you then because you're focusing on what you're doing, not on wandering the ship and checking for all signs of abnormal occurrences. You're in a hurry, so if he could just snag your attention real quick, then leave, odds are it will leave you a little disturbed.

I know, it's probably too good to be true, but it just seems, to me, that he shows up when I least expect it so much more often than when I expect it that it can't just be chance. It seems like DE has actually put some work into his spawn chances so that they can give us the best spook possible.
