Don't confuse easier to play with higher damage. The chromatic build is simple, but its simplicity is why its so much less damage than mine. That build relies on raw damage and stripping grineer armor to actually do damage. My build happens to work on everything, and has far higher potential damage to boot.

There's strengths and weaknesses to both builds but my strengths far outweigh that builds strengths. My damage potential is far, far higher. Honestly my damage potential is so high Excalibur himself will start getting one shotted far before I could reach its ceiling. That being said, the playstyle required for my build requires you to play far more aggressive than the stand back and wave your sword build that most chromatic blade setups are. The payoff though, hitting for potentially astronomical damage multipliers, is worth the risk imo.

You can try my build yourself if you'd like, its pretty easy to setup. Maybe experiencing it yourself and you'll see why it's more damage then Chromatic blade could ever hope to put out.

But I have used your build. I used to run with a condition overload and dualstat mod build all the time, and thought it was amazing. But once I got my hands on Chromatic Blade, well, that changed. There is just no comparison.

I don't really think one is easier to play than the other. Excal using exalted blade plays just one way: blind everything with 2, then spam exalted blade at everything around you.

Like I said, I can run corrosive with 30x damage. I get the best of all worlds.

Not really. Because without chromatic blade you exalted blade is not really worth modding for status, because of its low base status chance. With chromatic blade and 180% power (which you can just add energy convertion to reach easily) you have a 100% status chance.

I have tested it many times myself. The 100% status corrosive build with pure elemental mods will always be better than the coindition overload build with dual stat mods and no chromatic blade. In fact you'll easily kill lvl 100+ enemies in half the time with chromatic blade.

So here is the funny part, I technically gave my build a handicap or the damage difference would have been far, far worse.

If you notice, my build has drifting contact. The funny thing about this is that I actually run a combo counter on my Excalibur. With Naramon's Powerspike I can actually maintain a combo counter of 2.5x for the entire mission without ever dropping it. That means my full builds damage is actually 40x damage. If I ran corrosive on my build it would be 30x damage WITH corrosive. There is no a way a build tossing out just corrosive damage with no multipliers can ever hope to keep up with something like that. I could make a video of it, but the numbers or so hugely different I don't really think I have to.

I get it, you've never heard anyone tell you that Chromatic blades bad before, everyone thought it was good. Except its actually not very good once you start crunching numbers and thinking beyond what a couple youtubers threw up on youtube.

I don't think you understand how armor scaling work. A lvl 150 heavy gunner with armor has like 200 million effective health. Most of that is armor. 40x damage is nothing against that and will get you neither here nor there. Being able to remove that armor with corrosive procs, effectively doing tens of million of damage, is far superior. That's why corrosive damage is so good. That's why slash procs are superior to anything else (because it ignores armor). That's why chromatic blade makes your exalted blade far better than it otherwise is.

Uh no, condition overload doesn't "just" increase damage. And my build has 165% power strength and 32% status chance.

Condition overload multiplys your damage by 60% per status. That means your typical excalibur build is doing two status effects (because whatever color you are mixes) and you lose Impact Puncture and Slash.

My build is Blast, Toxin, Impact, Puncture, Slash. For the purposes of Condition overload blast actually counts as TWO status effects (because knockdown is a status effect)..

This means that if I  Impact + Puncture + Slash + Toxin + Blast one target i'm actually doing: 1.6*1.6*1.6*1.6*1.6*1.6 = 16 times damage to that target.

Think about that for a second, if you watch the video you will see enemies going from taking almost no damage to suddenly exploding out of nowhere. Thats condition overload at work.

A chromatic blade build doesn't do anywhere near that type of damage, it couldn't even if it wanted to.

You'd still kill them a lot faster without condition overload, with chromatic blade, 100% status and corrosive damage.

People, Chromatic blade is a bad mod. It will make you do less damage, not more. Why? Because Condition Overload is a thing, and Chromatic blade kills your IPS, turning it all into one element. Maybe if Condition Overload didn't exist sure, but it does. Which means you don't want less Status types happening, you want more.

    Take a look:

Don't use Chromatic blade, its not a good mod.

That's a bit misguiding, though. Condition Overload "just" increases damage, which is not all that useful against high level armored enemies who can soak up damage like its nobody's business. But with Chromatic blade and a 180% power for your frame, your exalted blade has a 100% status chance which is amazing. Add corrosive elemental to your weapon, speed mods like berserker and fury, and you strip away enemies armor in no time at all, which is far better than causing extra damage.

You tested it with a build that only has 120% power, which is not that high. Try it with 180% instead for that 100% status, then see how much of a difference it makes.

Spare me your sarcasm.  Since when is Limbo part of the raid meta?

I always care about killing things.  That's how I level stuff or farm focus.  Sortie is a great time to farm focus with its high level enemies.  Killing things is also fun.  It's pretty mich the point of the game.  I can murder enemies fast enough that they aren't going to take out the objective anyways.

Limbo, more than any other frame, prevents his squadmates from playing the game the way they want.  That's what some of you aren't getting.  The problem isn't the OP, it's Limbo and most of the players that use him.

Your teammates in public games are not there to lvl up your weapons for you. You want to lvl up gear, find a squad that wants the same or play solo. Why should a Limbo player hold back on using his abilities because it bothers you? You and your playstyle is not more important than his or anyones else. What I'm trying to say is: get over yourself, no one else cares about you leveling your weapons or how many kills you have at the end of a mission.

  7. Don't people just use the filter in recruitment tab? If I want to radshare a specific relic I type the name of that relic in the filter. If I want to hunt eidolons I type "eidolon" in the filter. Etc. It removes all clutter immediately. Same for trade chat.

When people share their ideas on how the game could be improved and face backlash from all sides, they won't be so eager to do so again. If they are made to feel their ideas are worthless, they stop trying. So yes, you (by which I mean your kind) are helping to stagnate the community. Inadvertently, perhaps, but effectively.

There has been no backlash. Reading through this thread again, there has been people saying they want it, people saying they don't want it, people saying they don't believe it will happen. But there has been no bullying, no backlash, of any sort. Telling someone that I don't believe the devs will agree with their idea is not the same as saying their ideas are worthless. It is just offering my opinion on the matter. Which is what free thinking is, right?

The only one who has been aggressive and called others posts worthless at all, is you. The rest of us is just having a polite debate.

Always blows my mind when you see something like "WTS Hydroid Prime 200 Plat WTB Shotgun rivens 20 Plat".  But I guess it must work or you wouldn't see the same people trolling trade chat every day.

I honest to God once saw someone write in trade chat "WTB maiming strike 200p WTS maiming strike 600p" Props to that guy, if it actually worked.

So as I mentioned in OP, I cannot do survival or defense so I'm supposed to bring people to the void, ask them to do nothing and stay near me so the enemies can spawn and I can kill them..

Well I guess it depends on how social your clan is. In my clan people offer to help with rivens regularly when you post things like this thread in discord.

The problem is finding 20 enemies in a single spot, the problem isnt killing them while wallclinging.

That doesn't sound too hard. Lots of big rooms in the void where there are usually lots of enemies. You also don't have to be solo to do it. More enemies spawn if you have more players.

My most awkward riven was "Complete an Interception mission with level 30 or higher enemies solo with a Hobbled Dragon Key equipped without dying or becoming downed." Took a while to achieve.

I've had that one. I just brought a volt with a ton of range. Could run around fast and keep the entire map stunned and it was no problem.
