  1. Probably nothing. Theres no real reason for them to make higher ranks and no reason they can't just save your affinity points past 30 like the ones that intentionally ignoring rank up tests. A new weapon for each rank past 30 would be nice and an incentive to players to rank up. Though something like "supreme super duper master with extra cheese" rank sounds fun.

I fully agree with you.  The only limitation is the mass amount of time/effort it takes to do so to borderline exhaustion.   I was a fairly large trader in the earlier days of wow and controlled numerous markets with an iron first...but it require constant attention even with bots because eventually my bot would be fighting against another bot.  I did it with Everquest and Eve as well.  It was fun for a while...but eventually it wears you down unless you have that specific mentality where it always give you a dopamine hit.

Yup. Used to farm Kuva all day just to keep my stocks in check rolling new released rivens and reselling unrolled ones. Used to be annoyed if my plat amount was under 2k but now I try to have around 500p just for the occasional boosters and sell rivens and frames when i really need the it.

What if I made over 100k plat without spending. Dime?

    +1.

I think only newer players or whales tend to spend actual money into the game especially when they get the 75% discount thingy. Once you start selling rivens or know when to go gung ho breaking relics and sell the stuff you get from it you can easily make 500-1k plat perday if you want to or have the time.

Komorex is a sniper, not an explosive rifle weapon.

I doubt weapon type is an issue. Javlok can use it and its a speargun. You can even add it to the Opticor for some reason.

Its not an issue if it weren't for the zoom totally takes out alot of what you can view. A trolling teammate trying to get you to self damage, a railing. The weapon looses alot without using that zoom fire mode thus my feedback. Just think it'd be a good fix for the weapon.

  5. Tonfas are pretty much my goto melee now. The combo doesn't really make you jump out of the blue or random slam attacks that throws the enemy around and been very good for me so far. 100% status Lesion with Healing Return when I think i need it. Most Heavy blade with Cleaving Whirlwind for occasional spin 2 win. And an Arca Titron for the occasional heavy attack spamming.

  6. Hi and  a very good day to you all.

Komorex can't use Cautious Shot. The zoom fire mode is the only part that makes the thing useable and self damage is too easy esp when its fully zoomed like that. Please change or better yet remove the self damage part. Its an awful weapon because of it esp when the other fire modes aren't really that good.

Thanks and have a nice day.

  7. Once you have decent parts and cleared the veil returning to low level nodes just to spam Void hole and one shotting everything does feel fun. Still need a better engine and reactor though but it is fun once you start feeling a little more nimble.

  8. My list of positives and optimism about the game.

    - Looking forward to what Empyrean evolves into like how POE gets more polished through the years. Ships pretty decent but I'm still hunting for a good reactor but only have 2 nodes left    to clear and I'm not rushing it.

    - Finally got to make my own dojo and almost done with all the railjack and other researches apart from Hema and colors. Having fun decorating the hell out of it.

    - Melee 2.0 or whatever the current iteration is was really good imo. Everything feels smoother between gunning and slashing, damage is buffed. Can't complain.

    - Kuva weapons are great. Brakk, Tonkor and Karak are great weapons to play around with.

All in all. Looking forward to 2020.

Edit : 500th post. I'm spending too much time here.

  9. Most probably your mods aren't maxed and what frames you're using. With some frames you can really be comfortably tanking lvl 100 stuff without thinking too much about it.

As mentioned above, Wukong, or Nidus and Excalibur Umbra can survive pretty well. Invest on a few things like Magus Lockdown so you crowed control when you need to and should be kinda cheap.

Make sure you have a decent melee weapon because most of the time its faster against hordes of grineer compared to downing them one by one (personally i use telos boltace, Lesion with the healing return mod, or a redeemer).

Little tips like using using Saryns 3 to really buff your status weapons and melee, Nidus 3 on the Lich, using Zenuriks Temporal Blast on the lich is a thing i usually do to really make stuff easy, letting Wukongs clone or a spectre take the agro while you shoot the lich from afar. Little things add up to make things easier.

But level 100 should be a walk in a park once you got your mods and builds in check.

  10. If you want to avoid annoying your team mates, let the other players charge the lures and stuff. Plenty of things can go wrong if you're the one responsible for the lures and you'll be blamed for it.

Just operator shoot when the shields up, help shoot those vombys when the eidolons down and know to pick up your shard and put it into the lake thingy quick. Most of the time you'll go unnoticed in pubs and you can learn the run from there.

Also, don't worry too much about a failed run or messing up if you're doing a pub run. Most should know its part and parcel of pub runs and if anyones mad or blaming you, he should've known better.

  11. Probably the same as eidolons. After a few months the real passionate players will have fixed groups, use recruitment chat and discord with a "5x3 tridolon like" coordination, pubs will learn to bring meta frames and have basic understanding to clear with a success rate of maybe 60%, and the others will just try and have fun with it.

See this word? This is the word that says "I did not actually understand the argument that was made, and will instead continue to debate against one I made up."

I do not need you to summarise my own opinion to me, because chances are that you are going to get it wrong. Which is exactly what has happened.

Regardless, if you are unable to even see the opposing viewpoint as valid, there is no point in continuing to discuss this matter.

And since you ignored it the last time, here is my question again:

Not really. Your post was long (along with the other posters and previous threads) but points goes back to you feel that you're being punished for "winning". You don't like that you died because and that you should only be dead if its by your own mistake.

Which translates to me you think that the NPC had no right to take that single revive from you. You feel like youre a bad gamer just because a non entity, one enemy that is an NPC un-rightfully, un-justifiedly took one revive that in 1 out of 10 cases doesn't equal to nothing more than a few extra runs and a harder lich for a rematch. Basically people are posting in threads daily its an injustice that you loose one meaningless revive from you and your ego is bruised by it. How Dare DE made me loose one pointless imaginary point because of some mechanic.

Basically your post is just the same solitary point as everyone elses is apart from the extra dramatic effect and fancy words like tenets. Which doesn't interest me as I've mentioned that I was looking for any other points other than that same point of you died from guessing thus you don't like it. You can extrapolate it all you want to bad game design, its Russian roulette but its still the same point. The npc took your revive because you decided to guess the order and you feel its unfair. I cant relate to that because.. well, revives are meaningless but thats me.

As for your question. It matters little to me either way cause I'm enjoying it right now and im sure DE will succumb to peoples pressure again like the difficulty nerf from fortuna. I ignored it because it doesn't change your narative and what I think of your agendas.

As i mentioned earlier i was just interested to hear if theres any other different points other than the death mechanic that has caused people to continuously moan about that update. Just to see if theres anything I'm missing. If its just about your bruised egos then do continue on.

You asked an example, gave it to you. And it could happen again, to multiple people. In multiple occasions, and even if they would be prepared, a bad and irresponsible squad will ruin your day anyways.

Ooooo the magical Twitter lingo.  So let me narrow it down to your  standards.

Its our opinion about what they want the lich system to be. See? Simple, disagree with em and move on. No need to... use that type of language here.

If you wanna be more constructive and not act so dismissive with others views, make your own thread instead to counter this one.

I didn't asked for an example. I was looking for points. This is like when you ask an anti Vaxxer why do you think vaccines are bad and you reply with a story that your niece is not vaccinated and is healthy. You gave a one off story and I don't think its worth noting because as you mentioned, its a one off thing. Should stalker, faction invasions and zenuka be removed in this game because of your story? its not really worth to think about really.

I'm not acting dismissive but people are giving the same the same point in different forms so i tend to ignore them. If theres no other points then ill just stop posting here and you guys have fun with your cause. If there was another reason to the huha then Ill at least understand why the daily rants and 8 -10 pages of the same thing.

Not sure about that whole agenda rant you gave at the end since I don't have a twitter. Pardon my limited vocabulary but using terms like maybe "cause" won't really change much.

This is an isolated case I know, but I was formad Umbral Adaptation Vauban just getting some affinity on a high lvl def, all that CC and not a single bullet scraped me by, lost a few lives due to helping others with their liches and near the end my level 5 rad lich due to my bad luck appeared. In the end I died 4 times (forgot my arcane revives to equip). I had one revive left and when I finally downed my lich and failed a stab ... well, I staid dead.

And before you blame my skill, I wanted to help others with their liches. Also it was a rad lich, guess what else happened on the squad with one slide attacking Wukong and Mesa?

If you have a particularly bad run, that one revive you have no controll over due to rng ruins your day.

As you mentioned.. an Isolated case. That one time situation doesn't warrant different people making different threads everyday about the same issue so there should be a different reason people are this rilled up on it. You're not prepared, Same thing happens if you're using Vauban in kuva flood and a lvl 80 stalker pops up. If you die and loose that run does that mean its going to happen again in the next run?

    9 minutes ago, Corvid said:

It doesn't matter how inconsequential you think it is, it is a fundamental tenet of game design that you do not punish players for winning. Furthermore, this sentiment displays a startling lack of empathy, which I am beginning to note as a common theme among the people defending the RNG.

Perhaps another question is in order: If they removed the RNG death, would it make the game any less fun for you?

Yes: The fact that the death is not due to any error on the part of the player.

Because that isn't the argument being made. The players are not protesting the death itself (despite what a couple of disingenuous individuals are trying to claim), but the cause of it. The Lich doesn't kill you by beating you in a fight, but by forcing you to play a game of Russian Roulette after you have already beaten them in which 7 of the gun's 8 chambers contain a loaded bullet.

Death should only be a consequence of a player's mistake, be it one of preparation or execution. The only mistake the Lich death punishes is engaging in the system to begin with.

I shall try to spell it out one more time, in as simple terms as possible: Dying is fine. Dying to a slot machine is not.

So basically its not fun for you to loose to an NPC and its not your fault? Got that point already. Can't you just look at it as role play and accept thats how to kill the lichs and just play along? It costs nothing other than the players ego. Looking for some other reason for the continuous huu haa about this but if thats all you guys have then I'll just leave your guys with your agendas.

In that case I'm not interested in your question because a pointless death is negatively effecting my fun.

Just because you can't see an issue doesn't mean it isn't there for others.

Thats why i asked if theres any other more substantial reason to the complain other than "its not fun". If thats the only reason than do continue on. Just wanted to see whats the big huha.

My question is what is the upside of losing one revive?

How does it make the game better?

For a video game something not being fun is usually a big red flag for something being wrong, even Dark Souls despite its endless deaths is still inherently fun because the game is built around it and all deaths (minus bugs and such) are 100% the player's fault.

The Lich death upon mercy isn't the player's fault, it is playing Russian Roulette with requiem mods, and the death happens after the player has already beat the Lich in combat.

I'll say it as many times as I need to, it goes against the entire concept of what they described a Lich as, a Nemesis that dies and returns stronger, currently they die only once and the PLAYER instead dies more than the Lich does, even when they win.

I'm not interested in your question as i can't relate with loosing a pointless revive being affecting my fun. Fighting the lich is fun for me and loosing one revive means nothing. So I'm interested to hear if theres anything else thats the issue that i cant see.

So far its just like players don't like their egos are being smashed just because they lost a revive but I doubt people are that insecure.

Edit : Effin hell.. Its an NPC. It matters to you that the player dies more than an NPC? And yeah.. they do come stronger after each try. You need them to die narratively before coming back stronger just to be happy?

  16. Just wondering what are the counter points against the downside of loosing 1 revive? So far ive seen people repeatedly claiming its not fun or good design and thats it. I'm on the "don't see whats the big deal loosing a revive" camp and so far the lich always respawns in 1 or 2 runs after my last try so I don't see its spawn rate as an issue as well. Judging by how many are selling lichs and farming them for higher rolls or ephemera I don't think many care that much about it either so I'm wondering whats the noise about..

  17. Stopped doing em once I've gotten all the weapons for a week or two. Just got a new lich yesterday for fun, In the long run its something that you can choose to have for a few days or hours of fun and you get decent plat with a good lich or a chance for a better elem roll for your existing kuva weapon. Theres really not many downsides of it once you get past the "have to get everything now" mindset.
