  1. That's great and all, but 3 out of the four skills are just "Kill those things." I'll grant you the bleed is a bit more unique, but certainly we can come up with more unique things than what we have already? I'm rather tired of Hotkey 4 being "Kill all the things!"

  2. DE is providing us with early information about coming updates, new warframes and environments. They also let us suggest names for future warframes, pick their favorites and let us vote on our favorite.

And about how early is this stuff? Could you see concepts of frames they're working on right now for instance (As in are they posted now, not "Could" they be)

  3. So I have roughly 40 dollars and want to make it into currecny for the game. I'm in a really odd situation (don't ask) where I can't use a bank for awhile. So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to how to turn my actual money into game cash?

I was thinking a gift card (like the Visa ones), but are those even taken?

I was also thinking I could maybe get some Steam wallet money at a gamestop, but I dunno if the Steam verstion of Warframe has an in game buy feature like other games do on steam..

  4. The numbers aren't off.

Furax has the highest dps in game, melee wise.

They count as light and cna't stagger though, right?

Personally I love my Dual Skana--- thoguh If Dual Heat is better in every way, I guess I should go that.

  5. Regardless of if you can beat a stage or not without certain mods, the only way to get mods are based on luck. Which is kind of frustrating.

Pretend I want to run fast. There's no way for me to raise my chances on getting run speed. I just have to keep doing stuff until I get it (Or keep buying mod packs until it randomly gives it to me).

  6. One thing that's starting to bug me about a lot of the "Ultimate" Abilities is they're mostly just... the same. A lot of them are big AOE heavy damage things. aside from visuals/elements, there's not relaly a difference between Frost and Volt ults for instance.

I get That it's nice to have abilities like that in abundance, but there needs to be more varience. What about delayed things, like a ime bomb. Somethign you Detonate like C4, and so on? There's tons of ways you could add variation.

P.S. I'm not actually saying use a timebomb or C4, those are just common to understand. It could be "Darkness bomb" or whatever people want for their stuff.

  7. So let me start out by saying (For the most part) I like this game's cash shop. It has a strong presence in the game while not being overwhelming or needed. My only real gripe are Oroken artifacts, but I'm not going to pursue that.

There is a major flaw with the cash shop hower. The more I play (Or spend) the less I actaully need to spend. Because I'm mostly using it to get Credits or get certain mods... ocne I have them I don't need them anymore. And once that happens, you don't make money from me anymore.

I highly suggest you remedy this with some more cosmetics. Maybe an Alternate costume for battleframes (because Honestly, I don't feel like weapon skins do enough to warrent buying) or something else.

At any rate, as a guy who likes to spend money at cash shops, I don't really feel inclined to now that I have my Frost Frame all set up with the mods I want and the mod levels I want. I might spend a bit more if I could get more than 60 Mod slots, but that's another topic all together.

  8. It's pretty much required to get damage on your two range weapons because it increaes them drastically. It can double (OR MORE) the damage. This isn't an optional thing, without it, my Rifle is very much not as useful to me as my PISTOL that has the mod.

The same goes for Shield and HP mods. You need Shield or HP (both prefered, but I can understand only one being changed). Enemies on my level (IE where I was progression wise pre patch) rip through my shield like it isn't even there. I find it extremely bothersome that my shield just gets torn appart and my HP isn't much better of a barrier. Most people are going to find HP/Shield (As in boosting total amount of Shield/HP pools) and install them, period.. It just really isn't a choice.

I know someone out there will probably call it a choice or talk about a build that doesn't need it or something, but most buidls do, most players do, and it's just a pretty core thing of the game. Going without them is pretty harsh.

  9. No. That's not true. Bows are no longer used in warfare for two reasons. 1; Any idiot can be trained to use a gun effectively in orders of magnitude less time than training the use of a bow (when guns were used in mass formations, it took an afternoon, and with the modern professional army, it takes less than a year to train to field readiness). 2; The introduction of small unit tactics completely invalidated the bow's niche in combat, which was being supplanted by cannons. Ease of carrying was never a concern.

You're telling me a handgun and tiny bullets are harder to carry than a longbow (required for similar range) and large arrows which have a much harder time piercing while remaining less accuarte?

To say that those two reasons are the only reaosns bows were replaced and nothing else was looked at is amusing.

Not really, 90% of a gun's noise literally cannot be surpressed, and if the round is super-sonic, than a surpressor is worthless. If you were building a ranged assassination weapon, and you absolutely needed to be silent, a gun is last thing you would ever consider as a weapon designer, as you have to sacrifice a lot of penetrating power and range to make a sub-sonic round. Which means armor becomes more effective against it. With a sufficiently strong powered exoskeleton, building for ranged stealth becomes a lot easier as you can make 300-500 pound draw bows with specialized armor penetrating tips and easily put a ton of force if not more at the point of impact without breaking the sound barrier and thus compromising stealth. Coupled with that we're doing mostly close range operations where "stealth through distance" is impossible, and a bow becomes a more and more reasonable option.

You can very much make guns far quiter. And technology has only improved as the years have gone on to do it better and better (As with anything else humankind develops, it evolves over time). To say that future guns using myrthical materials can't find a way to surpress the sound is goofy. Even if that is true, you're still talking about weapons that are harder to maintain (Bigger parts, bigger ammo), require more materials (they're larger, taking more total materials), have a slower fire rate, and (realistically) have less accuracy to speed ratio (That is to say, the faster you're firing, the lower your accuracy since your hands are constnatly moving, with a gun that has lower recoil, it becomes fairly simple to stay accurate).

  10. A few people have said "No" to bows, but I have to wonder why. If it's just that you don't like the weapon in general, fair dues. If it's because it's in, basically, every fantasy MMO ever, well....poor reason. Bow's are an iconic weapon, the same as swords and guns. Bows are amazing pieces of weaponry, which are still in use today, both the original and technologically worked on versions, like the compound bow.

Besides, if I'm going to stealth kill some dudes, my weapon of choice would be a bow - even if they do include a silencer weapon tool in this game.

I don't midn that there's a bow in this game, but Bows aren't actually used in wars and such becuase they're far less reliable and harder to carry (Arrows are harder to carry around than bullets). Swords are atleast believable because Melee weapons are still used. Granted it's mostly Short Combat Knives, but they're part of the gear.

Bows really aren't as advantageous as Guns--- and you would think with all the future tech we apparently have, a silent gun would be easier to make than a bow.

Again, I don't mind the bow being in this game, I'll probably end up using it. I'm just saying, it really doesn't make sense unelss its' something exclusive to the Warframe itself that does something special (IE maniuplating the waves it makes when fired)

  11. I agree on the frame descriptions but c'mon man those orokin things are easy to find.

You don't only get them from ?alerts but also from the raffle, from when you log in for the first time a day.

You just have to wait for the catalyst or reactor to pop-up and just click on it easy as sh*t.

    btw great game.

    +1

Easy to potentially find, but I haven't found any without paying. My login bonuses have been exp or some extra credits.

You have to play a long time before you start to get many missions that offer ? bonuses in the first place, which is rather frustrating.

  12. I've been playing for a bit now and these are a few things that bug me

Loki: It's very annoying to me that the Loki can switch places at will with other players. It's a cool feature to have that skill, but rather annoying when there's large rooms to transverse and a Loki player desides to just teleport you back to the start so he can be at the end over and over. More so when he does this so he can go up an elevator and leave you there waiting.

I'm not suggesting the skill be removed, but there needs to be a change in player interaction with it or it just creates issues with trolls that will only become worse as time goes on (See: Group of three guys playing Loki and just porting the last person around over and over). There's ways to avoid this, yes, but that doesn't make the concept a good thing.

Close to being pay to win: I tend to spend absurd amounts of money on games for little reason than I want to. I'll probably end up buying a higher founder's pack to support the game. However, it's kind of frustrating that I feel forced to. I cannot upgrade my weapons or frames that I build (Which already take awhile) without an upgrade device that the only way to get in game normally is hope that a randomly generated mission gives me the randomly generated reward of the upgrade device, which I can only use once because it's not a blueprint (not to mention I have to hope it's the right one since Frame and weapon upgrades are different).

This is of course piled up by the fact that I'm only allowed to use two Warframes total unless I pay, which means unless I pay I could spend days farming items and then more days crafting them and then more days using those crafted components to craft the actual thing I want to craft... just to not be able to use it unless I delete something else I went through the proses of making. Weapon slots I can understand here as those give you breathing room, but the Warframe slots are absurdly limiting. Hell I would have probably paid real money to buy another Warframe if I didn't also have to buy the warframe expansion slot. At the least couldn't the paid warframe purchases come with a slot Since they (can) cost ~TWENTY DOLLARS?

I'm not here to rant about the cash shop prices, but I'm reminded of other games that die off fast due to bad market practices and people trying to go "YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THE CASH SHOP." Like WarZ. A S#&$ game that's allowed to go on because there's random Zealots defending it and buying from it.

Regardless, "potentially" being able to get everything for free is not the same as actaully being able to, and it'll cause issues with a lot of people. I can understand that the company needs to make money, but atleast allow people to pay a good chunk of money to get the blueprints for the device.

Frame descriptions: A rather innocent idea with the Excalibur and Loki warframes kinda turns sour in practice. The concept of calling the Excalibur frame a newbie frame makes a lot of people look down on a rather strong and well balanced frame, while calling the Loki frame an advanced frame makes people go for it asap or get it after the start tutorial without thinking much about it. Regardless of the actual power of the frames, people look at "Begginner" and "advanced" and often see their chocie made there. It would be better to reword Excalibur to "A Balanced player's frame" and Loki to "A thinking player's frame" in order to not put people off with them or have them going to something that doesn't match them.

Warframe sounds: I'm fairly new and only really ran into this with the Frost so far, but it's rather bothersome to nonstop hear the Frost's sound effect if I'm just sitting around at the menu. Same goes for things like adding elements to my melee weapon and having it play a loud sound effect. Things like that need to be muted or have an "In lobby mute" option.

There's other things out there that bother me, but for the most part I suppose I can wait and see where they go as most of them are balance or uniqueness things that I assume will get addressed.
