  1. I have Rhino, Loki, and Ember as Warframes I plan to keep for the long term.

I'm currently playing Saryn and she seems ok so far, but I feel like she doesn't have any abilities that I don't already have on my other frames that they can also possibly use better.

I don't want to waste a potato since I only have two left and a Vauban and Volt in my foundry I haven't tried yet with a Nova on the way.

  2. Trinity is fine, but boring to me. The only skill I found useful was Link and her team heal. The first two abilities are only good on bosses since every other mob dies in one hit for me. I guess T3 towers would be the exception, but I don't get void runs everyday so...

Nerfing Link would be like killing her imo.

  3. "Enemies should be dead long before Iron Skin has even expired."

Only if you spam Radial Blast (which is I think, what you meant, rather than "stomp", which is currently broken and didn't clear rooms to begin with).

Otherwise, you're talking nonsense. I've seen Iron Skin run out of juice very quickly indeed, simply because two toxic ancients attacked me at the same time. And that was fully ranked, on a mid-level infested def mission.

I suspect what people mean when they say that the Loki is a better tank...is that the Loki has better control of the situation. He can pop a decoy, take zero damage, and pop the decoy again when it dies, all for minimal energy cost. With the swap teleport, he can even forcibly remove teammates from dangerous situations, or remove dangerous situations from teammates.

This is not, to be clear, strictly speaking "tanking", as the Loki isn't the one taking damage/being targetted.

Nevertheless, due to the now unpredictable nature of Iron Skin (there is no HUD indication that it's about to break, and since we're not taking damage to shields or health, we can't even see how much damage mobs are dealing out), the Rhino does not have this luxury of "control". All the Rhino can do is burn all his energy quickly, and spam attacks.

"Unless you just have yours modded wrong he should have optimum crowd control and defense."

Optimal crowd control? Are we talking about the same Warframe here? Rhino can knock enemies down, or er...

...knock them down some more? Occasionally make them hit him for a while?

"but I haven't seen anything lacking from Rhino. If anything he's still the standard I'm measuring the other frames by."

Not sure if serious or just trolling.

Even the developers themselves have acknowledged that work needs to be done on the Rhino...

Yeah, I meant Radial Blast. I'm not sure how you're using Rhino, but I haven't had any problems with Iron Skin failing me that badly. My Rhino rarely just knocks enemies down. I usually kill them. The same old combo of Iron Skin and Radial Blast hasn't failed me yet in the thickest of infestation missions. I usually still have Iron Skin up after the mobs are gone. Maybe it could be the weapons people are using, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how the enemies are living longer than the Iron Skin is lasting for some people.

Bosses are a different matter now of course. I can't just run into them anymore and expect to live until Iron Skin fades, but I can use it to position myself for Rhino stomp and disable them that way. The tactics change, but I don't see how it's made Iron Skin less useful. Instead of god mode, it's a tactical block that, for me at least, can last long enough to handle most situations.

Work needs to be done on every Warframe, but I get better results from Rhino than I have from most of the others I've played who seem to be one-skill wonders. I don't have any useless kills on Rhino even after the Iron Skin nerf. Escape/mobility, defense, aoe damage, aoe stun. Even with his 4th ability being his worst it is still useful in most boss fights. I'm not having energy problems either, but I use Energy Siphon.

  4. I think it would be better if mixing them made new elements. Like fire+ice made a steam effect that knockbacks and confuses an enemy. Maybe Electricity and fire makes a laser effect that makes an AOE explosion upon death. I know it doesn't exactly make the most sense, but it's just an idea that I'm sure would be better fleshed out by more creative people.

I had fire+ice+electricity on my Lato Vandal and when I tried to just make it one element per weapon my Lato was extremely weak without the other two elements. Right now I feel like we need all three elements. I don't really like it since it feels "easy" for a lack of a better word. I'd like some balance that forces me to sacrifice one thing for another. I wouldn't mind being forced to have one element per weapon since there are three weapons to carry and three elements. It also feel redundant playing as Ember with a fire mod on my Hek...

That's just my opinion regarding a slight challenge. It isn't too bad the way it is for now.

  5. Loki does this better, while actually doing damage and not stupidly rolling around being useless.

Trinity does this better, while actually doing damage and not stupidly rolling around being useless.

Frost does this better by giving the entire team immunity to bullets for 30 seconds at a time. No gimmick roll around and hide nonsense. Its just hey guys invulnerability is up. Get in the bubble and lets shoot the enemy's faces off.

Congrats, you like being mediocre. Many rhino players do not. The three frames I just listed tank so much better than Rhino its a joke.

I haven't played my Frost yet, but I have played Loki and Trinity to 30 with helmets. I have no idea how you've come to the conclusion that Loki or Trinity tank better than Rhino. Unless you just have yours modded wrong he should have optimum crowd control and defense. Enemies should be dead long before Iron Skin has even expired.

With the new taunt it's even easier to just hit Iron Skin then use stomp to instantly clear a room. Unlike Loki or Trinity, you can single handily kill a room off without even needing your weapon. I'm currently playing and building several other frames to replace Loki and Trinity, but I haven't seen anything lacking from Rhino. If anything he's still the standard I'm measuring the other frames by.

  6. I have to admit, one of the first things to really turn me off about any game is when there is a lack of inventory space. When that game doesn't allow you to increase that inventory space through in-game means and only through their cash shop I immediately uninstall and never look back. That's for any game. Warframe has been the one time where I've not followed my usual behavior, and gone ahead and continued to play. But it really is a cheap and poor tactic to pull and ultimately leads to a loss of sales. I agree with the op.

This is me exactly. The game is addictive and I actually did use my bonus platinum so that I now have six frame slots, but it still isn't enough. I feel like I'm being charged for playing too hard.

Can anyone name another F2P game that has limited inventory? I was going to try to draw a comparison, but I realized my f2p experience does not include any such games.

I'm just curious as to how similar paid inventory space has impacted other games. That would perhaps help to elucidate DE's logic.

I can't. I mean I do know of f2p games that offer extra space and how the default space can get cramped, but I don't know of any that are based on collecting a huge amount of items and deny space that is expected to use most of it.

It's worst when you factor in the most rare items that can only be acquired by alerts or have an extremely low drop chance. I shouldn't feel conflicted about selling something rare before I can even try it or spending money to make space for something that I may not even like after I try it.

The worst case scenario for me is to just move on to another game when even more content comes out. I should be happy to see more content, but all I see is getting caught in a payment trap I never planned on every time I want to try the new content and not loose old stuff I like.

  7. agreed with the OP.. Was just in a mobile defense mission with Nyx and my teammates killed everything I put mind control on before it even had a chance to kick in..

This is the same reason I couldn't play with Trinity. Every time I tried to apply something to an enemy somebody would kill it before I could reap the benefit of my own ability. It makes me gravitate to any frame that can just kill instead of support.

  8. You can get all those slots for $50USD.  Which is not terribly unreasonable.  The problem is paying for everything else, potatoes in particular.  They drop so rarely that the game is Virtually Pay To Win.

I have almost 7 of each potato. I think it's just luck and maybe using the droid app.

Either way the real problem is where does it end when it comes to buying inv space? I have 8 slots now, but how many Warframes and weapons do they plan to have? I feel like they could possibly shoot themselves in the foot in the longrun when people have all the Warframes they do like and see no reason to use others. We can only use one at a time and realistically, you only need just one. All the others I've tried after Rhino just don't feel worth it. I find myself rushing them to 30 just to quit using them. It really doesn't encourage me to buy more slots since I only need one Warframe.

Even with weapons you just need one that can kill a boss, one that can clear a mob, and something that fills whatever niche is left over.

  9. I just dislike that I have to waste platinum on slots when I would have gladly used it on colors. I bought four extra slots and I've only used one. I feel kinda dumb seeing as how the first two slots have the only Warframes I enjoy playing as. I'm not spending anymore more cash on slots. So much for DE's plan to get me to keep spending money on slots.

It's also funny how I have 70 plat left. There's absolutely nothing worth spending on left. Maybe they should have rethought out their money plans because I don't really find the stuff their selling that appealing besides the colors.

  10. The problem with these solutions is they are all very complex and will require a LOT of work, for just trying various solutions.

    ManTouch's ideas:

    1) This won't stop rushers, if they wanted loot then they would loot. It would achieve almost nothing (except rewarding the players who play as a team anyway, which while I'm all for, it doesn't fix the issue you're intending it to).

    2) So you've got a four member team but that one guy (you know the one) it looting every bloody box and crate, killing every enemy, etc etc. Or even is just plain AFK. The rage on the forums will burn brighter than ever before.

    3) This doesn't really make sense. The idea does, but not in the context of the Warframe universe. Even with that aside, it causes more problems than it solves; a long development process, how to not get stuck in rooms, extraction requiring backtracking from the objective, and after all that you still only want to force an average speed at most - sprinters run at two or three times that so doesn't solve the issue.

Yeah, I can see the problems. Back to the drawing board.

I can't really think of a way to force people to play together, and I think the reality is that it's impossible. Only the defense missions excel at this compared to the other co-op missions.

  11. There are many factors to this rushing issue. Some have been mentioned here, but here are others:

-People who rush to an elevator leaving a person behind even when he was a step away. I've had this done to me. I was at the elevator, but some guy just chose to hit the button as he entered with no regard to who was right behind him. They continue to rush after reaching their floor just leaving me behind.

-Frames with switch teleports. I've been ported back behind people to weird areas and had myself forced into fights the team had ran from. It's just plain trolling, but what can you do when the game allows this and people act like children?

-Spawning in a game where the team is already rushing and you have no clue. In these situations you sometimes spawn right in the middle of a mob and the team has already ran past that area. You're stuck fighting and by the time you realize they are gone it's too late. The gap is huge and your just playing catch up.

My solution is one of three things:

1.) Make proximity bonuses. The closer you are to your squad the higher number of materials and credits drop. It may also increase the rarity of mods.

2.) Make secured doors per room that take every member of the team to open instead of just two. That stops rushing period.

3.) Purge sweep. Have a red field of energy that sweeps the ship behind the players. They are forced to be ahead of this wave or die. This keep everything moving forward with no time to idle. Maybe looting slows it down somehow which maybe can create a balance between rushing past everything and wasting time looting.
