I just tried to kill Mutalist Alad V for the sortie , and I've gotta say he has to be the worst designed boss fight I've ever experienced in any game.
He becomes vunerable for 1 second at a time if your lucky , and half of the times he does your either being poisoned or having a wall of fire slammed in your face.
As for energy for abilities , forget it. 20+ parasite enemies kinda puts paid to that.
I had no choice but to solo it as I cant play with people at the moment , and it felt like I had no chance. Seriously , F*!* that guy!
..... end of rant.

There are a couple of places where something will always spawn.
If you go immediately left when you first enter plains , all the way to the water.
And heading forward and slightly eastwards , again to water (a longish lake) , theres another spawn point.
Once you've seen them a few times they're easy to remember.

No bounties for cetus either. None are showing for me , and some of the vendors are bugged.

Its probably alot easier to get Platinum than another Lato Vandal so I'd keep it.

Just a friendly reminder that drift mods From Lua challenges count towards the Nightwave challenge.
I was struggling to get any until I rembered them.
I've also seen it mentioned that the index is a pretty good source for them too.

The new system was also to help people who kept missing short lived aura/reactor alerts through work or school etc.
They'll no doubt make changes to it if there are things that aren't working out too well.
I like it so far. Ive completed some just by doing the stuff I was already going to do anyway.

For mobile defence I almost always use Nyx. With good duration/efficiency and the chaos sphere augment you usually only have to cast his 3 twice per console.

Like @Keltik0ne said , now you're doing sorties they'll soon build up.
Dont be in too much of a rush to collect loads. They're mostly crap and you have to buy 3 slots at a time for 60 plat once you hit the cap.

I'm not great at trading , and I don't particularly enjoy it , but I've managed to get probably around 2,500 platinum in total.
It gets easier the further you go with the game.
I reccomend starting with maxing out a couple of factions , and selling the gear you can buy from them. Its an easy way to get your first couple of warframe slots.

DE are pretty good at returning plat from accidental purchases.
The support is pretty busy though , so give it a little time.

The challenge to kill dargyn pilot's in the air is bugged to hell.
I have to kill 2. First one counted no problem , the next 15-20 attempts (using the same method) didn't register.
I've lost count of the hours lost to riven challenges and its getting to the point where I just sell half of them as soon as I get them.
I dont know if DE think its a good thing to artificially inflate player time , but seeing as I turned it off out of frustration , I guess not.
Seriously , how many threads about buggy riven challenges does there have to be before something gets done about it?

You dont have to collect seperate syndicate marks. I did one recently where I needed 7 and was able to get them all from the same mission.
I didn't have the 'no alarm' thing though.

A simple goal early on is to gain standing for a couple of factions , and make sure you do their missions everyday. The mods , and later the weapons you get from them can be useful for making plat for slots.

Why didn't you log in to your sons account and do the alert for him?
I've done that many a time for my kids.
As for the trading , i dont think the system is perfect but its not too bad. The fact that you can trade for the in game currency is a bonus , and not something most games have.

There was a red text warning in game this morning when I was playing , that mentioned there could be match making problems.
I was playing solo though so I didn't pay much attention to it.

I have a riven with the challenge ' kill 9 wild animals with a fishing spear with a pet present'.
Ive just spent 40 minutes going back and forth on the plains and im at 3/9 , because hardly anything spawns!
And the stupid little rat things , when they do appear they run a few meters and then drop dead!
Seriously , what the hell?
I dont mind a challenge but this is just boring as hell , and when ive got limited playtime I dont want to spend half of it looking for animals that barely spawn.

First off , ignore the keyboard warriors reply.
Secondly , the DE support are really busy at the moment and alot of the, cases are probably involving Twitch & Twitch prime drops. They'll get to u soon no doubt.
If you do a quick search there are a few threads about twitch drop problems and possible ways to resolve them. (Account linking etc)

Most of my success or failure comes down to area.
If I have time to get to somewhere with a bit of room to manoveur , then I can kill him with no problems. But if he stucks me in a tight corridor , pffft. Game over usually.

It happened to me the other day aswell , about 3 or 4 times. Also sometimes after using the scanner it would switch to a weapon but wouldn't let me fire it , even though I had ammo.
Not sure what was causing it.
