  1. My thoughts:

Could use a bit of a description for how you see it looking, since we don't have any art to go by.

Hard Light Shield sounds like it works like a riot shield in usage?  If so, cool!  Otherwise, could I get a different description?

Ammo belt: might be fun to have as a longer duration, like base 4-8 seconds, but with a small recharge or reload timer to represent the ammo being reloaded.  The damage types listed seem like a good selection of commonly used statuses for effect.  I'd leave any buffing effect secondary to syndicate mods

Vigilance: I'd like to see some limited ability to see enemies through walls like with the Argonak Amalgam and Zenith, except maybe specifically when not ADS, as to possibly be more representative of aural positioning than visual.

For Barricade, I'm a bit confused as to how often I use this?  Is it for: I want to switch to my primary and still have defenses?  If it's ideally always-on, then Banneret loses his cool shield!  Also, Barricade's a defensive emplacement, if it's more mobile than the shield.  If you make it something like, Banneret generates a defensive structure instead of the hardlight shield, with buffs (DR, health regeneration, ammo regeneration, safety-walls) and dreadnought gun emplacement for Banneret.  As for the ability space that you'd get out of merging Barricade and Dreadnought... perhaps some kind of cone attack projected from the shield?  Blast?  Electric?  Blinding?

  2. After a host migration, mission rewards stopped displaying in either mission progress or at the end of a round.  I got the same amount of rewards at the end (I think?) but they didn't align with what the other person in my squad said they were getting.

I'd rather they just give each archgun 1 or 2 'special' mods which drop from the orbs or something.  These mods would increase the main 'selling points' of each weapon or give it a reason to be used over another one, in other words a unique selling point because as it stands now it seems we've just gone back to the 'sniper rifle' plus chroma as the meta for the orbs....

To be fair they can fix the riven issue REALLY easily, just remove the 'popularity' aspect of the disposition and base it purely on performance.

Would definitely can my "keep it secret, keep it safe" mentality for not using my best gun-riven combos, but I'd still worry about them getting the nerf axe.

I can guarantee you the 10016 has nothing to do with your freezing. Even I have the exact same error littered throughout my event viewer and I don't have any issues in Warframe.

Also, have any of you tried contacting support? If you send them an EE.log after the freeze happens they can track down any errors that lead to your freezes and give you some idea of what the problem is so you can troubleshoot from there.

I've actually been struggling to get Warframe even playable again... after nuking my entire PC after a basic DDU driver reinstall failed to help, thinking I'd have to go even further to basics, I started having the aforementioned problems which I originally attributed to what I thought was what I did to fix the 10016's, but I read today about a memory leak going into the newest version of Windows, and I thought I'd post back here warning people against reinstalling Windows as a scorched earth against bugs.

Ok, been awhile since i posted here.

So i tried to fix the 10016 error that might have been the cause of the freezing issue and i cannot fix this damn event id. So i did a dumb thing, i thought "Hey if i remove the user then it might stop the error" and i lost access to the registry and other windows setting. lol

I also just reinstalled windows after trying to fix the 10016 error as described on a semi-reliable source... as well as a few other fixes, and messed my registry up in other ways.  I ended up in a place that the game would no longer crash as described, but it was playing at what the counter said as 20-30 fps, but felt lower than that.  Sub-40fps 3d isn't really a thing I can do without getting a migraine, but I got a better understanding of when this happens, which is usually when doing a bullet-jump, amid power use, or when stuff (players, Hek, level stuff, rarely bounty rewards) is loading in, which makes me think it's a deal with particle density, even though turning that down doesn't often help.

  6. If anyone's trying to track down the issue, it's not in PhysX; I tried the fix described on the next line.  I've formatted my harddrive within the last few weeks, it's not a solvable driver issue.

    https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/941201/geforce-700-600-series/gpu-usage-spikes-to-99-100-and-crashes-/post/4901764/#4901764

It's boosted performance a ton - less hanging around the times when Warframe would crash my display, but the game's still crashing.

After doing a lot of searching online, it seems that the error 4101 is related to the problem despite events not occurring at the same time the way other events are, probably causing these problems, and a hardware issue.  I'm going to try replacing my PSU and case (possible short circuiting going on there which would cause the voltage drops, but unlikely since problems like this are isolated to Warframe.)  I wish I could find my old graphics card to see if swapping it in would fix this.

I tried using the standalone in the waframe.com and still freezing too

Yeah, after awhile, same.  It's cut down the crashes, but they still happen.  Today I got a different error.  I'm going to try the Zenviscerator's fix...

  8. I've found a solution to this that may help some, but isn't a solution... I've only done one day of testing so far, but it seems to work.  I uninstalled the steam copy of Warframe, and reinstalled it from the copy on the site.  I've had problems with Steam's overlay before, but none quite like this... and this might be a Steam browser issue.

Never hurts to learn something new about your computer. Let me know if you still crash, I'm still testing as well, I might have some different methods that might help you.

I don't know if that tutorial is out of date or pushing their own software, but you can, at least in Win 10, edit ownership straight from registry editor.  I should also not that I don't know if the inbuilt fix is better or worse.

I had the same issue and I checked my Event Viwer in widows and I saw I had a 10016 error. I decided to search it up and from a bit of sleuthing it can cause PC freezes like the ones we're having here. I followed a guide to attempt to fix it but haven't tested it yet. Could any of you guys open up your event viwer then go to window logs and system and see what errors you may be having?

Yes, but this seems to be independent of when the freezes happen, and is an error related to either windows store or defender and firewall not being able to connect with microsoft servers.

I've been keeping event viewer open while playing since you mentioned this though, and is related to "nvlddmkm" crashing, which explains why this's only happening to people with NVidia cards, but it could be an issue with vsync, even turned off vsync and specific monitors.  I'm going to try seeing if vsync was turned on in an update, turn it off, and see if that fixes anything.  According to an article I've found, it could be an issue related to power supply not giving enough power to the video card... though I remember calculating Wattage budgets and being fine when I build my computer... I maybe should consider replacing the power supply on my rig though, it's probably a decade old by now.

  11. I've been playing Mirage a lot during sorties recently, I like her design, and I've been trying to figure out what I could do to make her work better, and I could probably use a better loadout, but she still needs a bit of work.  Hopefully she gets a deluxe skin soon, so DE can justify the rework.

I'd like Hall of Mirrors(1)'s distract feature to get a fix where the distraction part works when you're a client to a laggier host, but as with all host-client things, that's wishful thinking.

Eclipse(3) could use some reworking a bit, but it could also be the make or break part of a rework.  Some ideas include:

    (a) A gage to show exactly how much light or shadow you're in.

    (b) Giving you both damage increase and reduction, but not as much

Sleight of Hand (2), Is the weakest ability in her kit.  Either you're in an area control mission where the focus on blinding enemies limit the traps that detonate based on , or you're in a rush mission where you leave mines behind where they don't matter or don't have things to booby trap.

    (a) maybe instead of booby trapping all objects, just drop a few crystals in the area that blind in a small radius when they're touched, and possibly also put traps on consoles that immediately knock enemies away form it, and possibly unlock red lockers in the area.

Prism(4) has some "mod for it specifically or it's not worth using" issues, especially with its extra long cast time.

I'd like to continue brainstorming this, but I've got to get back to work

  12. This's been happening to me too since the dreaded Fall Creator Update to Win 10, but it's unlikely to get Microsoft to do anything about it.

For those suffering from these crashes:  Restarting my computer right before playing Warframe and not having any other programs running help reduce the frequency of crashes, but nothing stops them.

If any tech support read this:  They became less frequent over time until Update 22.18, then they became very frequent again, and have been fluctuating between every other mission to maybe once a week.  At this point it's happening once every other day.  I've run stress tests on what feels like every part of my computer, and they all come back fine, including that cat donut one in the "Diagnosing system crashes" pin. I'll have Resource Monitor up, and nothing goes over 20% usage, when it crashes, graphics usage spikes momentarily then drops to 0%.  The game continues to run in a way that seems fine, you can still shoot and move if the audio is to be believed, but hitting the screenshot button, though it'll make the camera noise, won't make an image file.  The game doesn't crash, so no crash error logs are produced, only the graphical portions crash.

  13. Got a riven for Hate today, which got me thinking about scythes.  When I was taking a break from the game, a friend told me they were thought about being rolled into heavy blades because they weren't being used enough, even with rivens.  So I got thinking, looked on wikis, riven disposition is great except for the zaw, secondary stats are great on average, yet they show little use - why?  Took the old Anku and Hate into the Simulacrum, had a good look at 'em - stances were amazing for first-run stances, and they're a bit slow for their damage without mods, which probably turn people away from them when leveling, Then there's the shape and reach.  I went digging for the devstream that talked about this, and saw an amazing looking hate scythe.  The longer scythe holds the coolness factor the way that the current version doesn't, and the additional reach would make its slow speed worth it, like a competitor with polearms.

Then let's look at the easily available scythes: Ether Reaper, and Anku, neither of which have a design that really meshes with the Scythe mood the way the rare drop Hate does, Reaper Prime and Caustacyst are better, but Reaper Prime suffers from the same short scythe problem, and Caustacyst suffers from not having a widely comfortable build - the most viable requires the rare mod Condition Overload, as well as being a bit too slow to really capitalize on corrosive.

When the Devstream brought up the idea of folding scythes directly into heavy blades, there was a nonzero kickback, the only reasons I could think of people wouldn't want that, is, most importantly, losing the scythe stances.  Negligible reasons I could think of that people wouldn't want this would be: wanting scythes to stay unpopular, saying no to just say no, fear they'd just be incomparably worse than galatine or scindo without stat re-evaluation and that scythes would lose their uniqueness (if you're in a scythe mood, you'll use a scythe.)

In summation, the changes I think scythes need: more range to be on par with the Gram and a very small bit more speed first, then later consider folding them in with heavy blades.  If you somehow magically had infinite time, I'd say to first rework the Ether Reaper design to look more scythe and less long axe, then consider a new scythe stance before combining them with heavy blades.

Never remove the scythes stances.  I can't be the only one who wants to throw a Galatine with the Abyssal Automaton combo.

  14. Hunting the eidolons, ran into the usual bug where sometimes you can't use transference, any of your other abilities or gear items.  I know the usual fix of just die and revive, but the (hold B when you're downed) bit wasn't working either, and my team was insistent on reviving me despite it all.  I know this's usually a thing with host connection, so I'm not expecting much, but could we get some sort of unstuck command, but for abilities?

  15. Cephstus [Cephalopod + Cestus]

    Faction: Tenno
Brief Description: Gauntlets.  Tenno designed biotic weapons based on cephalopods.  Any basic element modded in gives additional effects when striking, or with idle charge up at the cost of energy.

(fire = buildup to blind / bonus distance on charges and bullet jump) (cold = freeze / area chill) (electric = incredible range / speed increase and seamless travel to ziplines) (toxic = toxic clouds / invisibility)

In search of the Codex of Bullet Ballet:

Hour Zero:  The clan is fed, the kubrows are washed.  I have completed my homework in the Dojo labs, and built the cradle for the new babby Titania.  I am ready to set out on the expedition.  The wikias and maps promise quick turnaround, I am hopeful.

Hour Two:  I fear I've become rusty, having not played in awhile, the sortie list for this season isn't even greened out yet, but I will persevere.

Hour Three:  I've regained most of my lost skill in these missions, they were once an old favorite to plunder for Forma.  A few new caches still confound my reflexes, but nothing I cannot overcome.  Though I feel mislead on its loot chances.

Hour Six: Exhaustion is beginning to sink in, I am sore.  Perhaps I need to relax and take a break...

Hour Fourteen:  We have resorted to transmutation.  A part of my mind that deals with numbers assures me that I've pissed away enough Endo and Credits to finish maximizing my primed mods, even the useless ones such as Primed Slip Magazine.  Since the text is in the Madurai pool, fusion cores hold little promise.

Hour Fifteen(?): I've come to.  I don't know when I collapsed or when the Oasis of Madness vanished, but this is my last canteen, I will not make it.  If a brave seeker finds this, you already know the dauntless path ahead, for it is as ever forward as it was behind, between the coin god's two faces is an infinite road.

  17. I like the augment.  It sounds like a lot of programming work in the mod system that DE might not be willing to do though... still, the PVP arrows aren't really well balanced enough for PVE, shield arrow would have to do stuff like temporarily allow all of the following: completely pop a nullifier bubble, 100% punchthrough on shield lancer shields, strip armor, and hit all forms of osprey in an area with a thing that disables them for a second, and remove Ancient/Corrupted Healer protection on the target.

Also, chroma needs energy cycling (and maybe four energy colors) ... and a PBR update, anytime I think I'll give him another try, he loads up and looks like he's made out of play-dough.

  18. The problem is that they're kinda wrist blades, which doesn't make for a good stance the way sword/claws/etc do, since that sort of weapon is meant to be awkward to use more than in one swing.  Still, if I were designing a Bladestorm as a stance, I'd probably do stuff like LMB is shuriken instead of charge, hold E to teleport (using ash's teleport ability, similar to the way the twin basalt augment works.)
