Even our Warframes were immune to the influence of Arlo's strain. The Sentients would have no issue adapting to any strain of the Infested (original from the Old War as the Technovirus to modern day Infested). The only thing they can't adapt to is the Void, but

      Hide contents

From "Erra", Natah might say otherwise

Eh I don't think they would adapt, they're just flat out immune to the technocyte on a whole just like the tenno and warframes (although warframes are immune because they're of the helminth strain)

Adapting yeah, but what about consensual merging? What about doing as natah and embracing our wickedness, not just the wickedness of void but that of plague as well. Turn our very weapons against us.

Especially since at least in Natah's case she's clearly not beyond merging Sentient with the inferior Bios. Just look at the Amalgams.

I doubt she would do that with the infested, she already has all she need for bios in the corpus no need to add a viral hivemind to that.

No, it's spelled out pretty clearly that Excalibur Umbra was the very first thing approaching a Warframe to exist, followed by or alongside Rhino Umbra (Rhino Prime codex)

Nope, Unus was correct. Excal Umbra was just a revenge project for the Dax General that figured out about Ballas betrayal. Remember that the virtruvian files were made for Hunhow to see and if all that info is already known then that's enough proof that Excal Umbra was created really late into the Old War way after the first warframe. And Rhino prime codex isn't about Rhino Umbra. There's only one Umbra (Excal), rhino prime codex was about the prototype bio-drone that preceded the finalized creation of Rhino and a test to see if it can be tamed/taken control of by the tenno.

See, the thing about the Old War is that it was REALLY LONG. One of the first things that happened was a bunch of Orokin trying to use their Jade Light Guns (Ivara Leverian) only to die horribly because the Sentients could just assimilate them (Excalibur Prime codex). The Dax went into battle shortly thereafter in their Railjacks (Rising Tide) but this wasn't enough and the Orokin began experimenting with biological warfare. This led to the creation of Technocyte, in both its benign Helminth and its ravenous Technocyte strains.

This is also false, the orokin used Dax soldiers to fight for them. Ivara leverian is about the orokin using someone similar to Ordan Karris who actually accepted the orokin's offer or an orokin in a super soldier body to test the warframes/tenno. That doesn't mean they participated in the war by any means. Sentients in the old war can assimilate with technology but not biological matter(that's only recently they've decided to do that), that didn't happen nor was possible at the time. Dax was always the ones to battle in Railjack or on land with or without the warframes. And technocyte/infestation existed before the old war, they just went back to the outer colonies that were ravaged by it and cultured the helminth to create warframes.

Ballas tried to play both sides of the War, trying to manipulate both his fellow Emperors and Hunhow's spy teams; there was presumably a lot of "double-reverse quadruple agent" stuff going on that Sacrifice just skims over. One of his bodyguards was about to rat him out for it -- Ballas quickly silenced him, turning him into Excalibur (Sacrifice). The rest of the Umbras were crafted in similar ways (speculation, based on whether the devs actually make more Umbras). But while effective at killing Sentients, they couldn't be controlled and deemed a failure (Sacrifice). By this point the Orokin were losing the war on all fronts and were pushed back to Earth (Excalibur Prime codex, Second Dream). In a last moment of desperation, the Orokin cracked open those Tenno cryosleep pods to see if they could turn those into some kind of killer app -- and miraculously, it did, as both Excalibur (Sacrifice) and Rhino (Rhino Prime codex) were subdued from raging beasts to useful warriors.

Okay this just has me confused asf. Ballas being a triple agent, correct, fine. Ballas quickly silenced the Dax General by turning him into Excalibur Umbra (missing that detail) and this was long into the Old War. Nothing says they were pushed back to earth actually, considering the warframes would already be out and about slaughtering the sentients by the time of Ballas' betrayal.

    11 hours ago, TARINunit9 said:

The Orokin quickly found their footing and pushed everything into Warframe development (Silver Grove), starting the next theater of the War as the Tenno took back the solar system. Ballas -- who of course got off scot-free from his double-agent dealings -- was the head of Warframe development, and because we were kicking so much ass in the war he was even able to pull some of us aside as his own political enforcers (Vauban Prime trailer). I'm not going to go into much more detail but it ends with us cleansing the system of Sentient forces and then taking the fight to Tau (Mag Prime codex) before coming back to Outer Terminus and killing six of the seven Orokin Emperors (Stalker codex) thus starting a Grineer revolt and plunging the system into civil war (Synthesis)

Every warframe development was during the old war since the moment the war ended the warframes turned on the Orokin and destroyed the empire. Warframe as bodyguards sure that was mentioned a few times in different syandanas and what not.
I really don't think Mag Prime codex was about going to the tau system nor did it suggest that since solar rails exist all over the solar system, so they could be going anywhere. It's highly unlikely it would be the Tau System considering that the solar rail going towards it would be the most heavily defended junction out there and all the lore surrounding the war never mentioned going to the tau system.

The problem is De wants to many things at once and there Moneygivers control it in a bad way, but there team has grown and defintly could do more by now, they simply need a better focus and stop jumping between several ideas, first we had a looter shooter, Archwing which tooked years to get a look at again, Riven mods which were supposed to fix older weapons but were a failed bandaid and still put the game in a bad state, then a fighting mini game which also got dropped, seeing how no new frames get added there, side project or not, it is still some content, then we had Tony Hawk wanna be with the K-Drive which is uselss and no fun, then a Shadow of Mordor Nemesis system wananbe with the Lichs which was RNG on top of RNG, then we had spaceships which turned out to be a gridn for another grind again and not added anything to the world, no lore, no worldbuilding, no extension on anything existing even, one planet with 10 times the same mission? I mean is that the big update?

And now you know the reason for my earlier question as to "Great, you can provide the manpower for new cinematics"
I don't see how they're jumping between several ideas but they're are doing multiple things at once.

    • Archwing was on the backburner for years that I agree on and the neglect showed excessively in railjack, now we're getting modular archwing which (hopefully) improves it a little and auto flight system for dogfighting, i don't have high expectations tho.
    • Rivens probably helped boost older weapons but that was and always will be a bandaid for older weapons and the only thing rivens put into a bad state was trade chat but I never understood this dilemma because how did riven prices fk up the prices of everything else? Idk
    • The fighting minigame was just a fun little side project and nothing more just like Wyrmius and Happy Zephyr. It's tiny bit of content at best for like a few minutes of game time. Anyone who expected a fleshed out fighting game from a side project was being delusional and had high expectations for no reason.
    • K-drive was never suppose to be some combat oriented thing, but a fun way of travelling, now, it being fun or not is subjective.
    • The recent changes to Kuva Lich makes your statement untrue in all honesty. The murmur farm is fine, it's the requiem relic grind they need to fix now.
    • Getting your own Railjack is certainly a grind for newer players but other than that you can just piggyback on someone's souped up railjack until you get your foot into the door or just wait for the command intrinsic system that's being worked on. They have to lower the #*!%ing grind on intrinsics though like holy S#&$ I'm mad that I missed that Ivara exploit. But the worldbuilding for Railjack was literally there in Rising Tide even if it is the smallest amount like with the cephalon fragments for ordain karris.

Every single element of her character development is a retcon of her origin story.

Shy explains it better. DE would actual do a favor for themselves by just killing her off.

    Spoiler

    Lotus never had an origin story until Natah. Just looking at it objectively, the basic progression of her "character development" was;

    • We find out that lotus is sentient and that hunhow is her father (Natah)
    • She was the one who hid the moon to protect the tenno's real bodies and then reveals what the tenno really are (the second dream)
    • We find out that lotus Margulis persona is from the tenno's dreams and memories (Chains of Harrow)
    • Ballas comes and does some orokin magic to her (Apostasy Prologue)
    • Lotus comes back in her true sentient form with her actual real persona (The sacrifice)
    • Ballas b-i-t-c-h-i-n-g about what Lotus did to him (Chimera Prologue)
    • Natah forces deal with Salad V for new Amalgam units for preparation of the New War (Jovian Concord)
    • We find out that Natah was actually brainwashed by the orokin and her saving tenno as mercy is false. (Jovian Concord)

I mean you can try and call that last part a retcon but is it really? That's like saying anything that involves brainwashing or a sleeper agent is a retcon to that

specific character. Whether the development is good or not is up to the opinions of the person themselves but if this is all it took for the player base to hate

the Lotus then I say DE did a job well done in making her an enemy.

DE stopped long ago being the little Indie Team they used to be you know. Besides it not needs ot be a big quest you grind, just a little playable segment with lore and some uniqe gameplay for it,

What does that have to do what I said? Of course they stopped being the little Indie Team considering they're working on multiple things at the same time ranging from this from these status changes to a new event, new upcoming quest, the duviri paradox, command system for railjack on top of bug fixes.

    1 hour ago, Marine027 said:

Quest can be repeated for a reason as example, older frames why not give lore? Excalibur is the frist one and Umbra has is own story yes but got his own quest right? Yu can still make a quest around one type of the same warframe still, It is not just cinematics, what about the codex entries? Mag Prime, Ember Prime, Rhino Prime, why not put those in Levirian or mix it up? Why not extend on SImaris research lore entry, combine it with Codex and Levirian?

Repeatable quests weren't a thing before and the only quest people would ever repeat are the story quests like Second dream, Chains of Harrow, The Sacrifices etc. Since those type of quests are the only one with cinematic and substantial lore behind them. Umbra doesn't have his own quest, he was a part of quest, he was a freebie considering that DE decided to do this instead of giving us umbra outright considering players were waiting for years for umbra.
Why should they put Mag Prime, Ember Prime and Rhino Prime codex entries in the Leverian? They don't talk about the frames origins nor is it centered around the warframe but about the origins of archwings, tenno and warframes on the whole. I'm all for them creating leverian entries on those warframes but those Codex entries and Leverian are two different things. The same with Simaris research. Simaris Lore is centered on that specific enemy unit origins what place does it have in the Leverian? I'm all for newer targets for origin lore though but the focus seems to be on the New War and Leverian for lore.

See? This is the main problem me and others have, they put so much new stuff in only to drop it again, threy dropped Quests, SImaris, Codex, Levirian will follow surely

They dropped quests? So wtf is the recent story related missions we did? Rising Tide, Apostasy Prologue, ERRA. Those weren't quests? I guess they weren't since it was apparently dropped.
Simaris isn't dropped, how is he dropped? Didn't they just move some things into his shop? His story bares no relevance on the current events. I'm all for more lore entries on enemy units though
How is in gods name Codex dropped? The codex is literally the info hub and tracker for warframe. And it was literally just updated with a Leverian Tab, Kuva lich history and contains all fragment lore that is found in the world.
I don't see Leverian being dropped anytime soon. This is why I love it, this is probably the fastest we've ever gotten tidbits of lore back to back and it seems that DE is gunho about filling up that leverian with old and new warframes.

    1 hour ago, Marine027 said:

Same goes for gameplay, Archwing tooked years for reworks, same for Frames, Railjack sure will be dropped again aswell.

That's a different discussion. And Railjack also isn't getting dropped anytime soon considering we're literally getting an event that requires it.

No DE would not have to make unique walking animations for every frame. Don’t know where you got that from since I never mentioned it once.

They don't have to, but it's going to be demanded by the playerbase just like you're asking for their exclusive animations to be universal. It has been talked about before and this is just gonna give more grounds for unique walking animations.

I personally dislike Leverian, it is nice that we get Lore at all but, i rather have a "show, don't tell" moment then some unknown guy rambling about events we never heard about before and or never seen remains from, so imagination wise it is hard to think about anything then, we hear of those great actions they apparently did but, it is confusing how its often told in my eyes without any visuals, and did we really need lore for the Syandanas?

    4 hours ago, JackHargreav said:

Agreed. A cutscene or quest for the warframes would be million times better. But for whatever reason DE doesn't want to do frame specific quests anymore. Probably to save money.

    4 hours ago, Marine027 said:

Some weapons are also questionable in my eyes to put lore up because it "belongs" to the Warframe? I mean in war times i doubt they made everyone a specific weapon. I prefer quests like Harrow and Titania, giving insight in the world and people and syndicatsetho i wish some quest had been more fleshed out also, disliked Quests are Nidus and Revenant defintly.

Great, so you are able to provide the manpower for DE to create those cinematics? What..? No..? Then that's disappointing. And why would DE give out frame specific quests for older warframes? Even for newer ones I don't see the difference between hearing of the story during gameplay by another person and hearing the story during a exhibit by another person. What's the problem here? Harrow and Titania which you cite both do the same as a Leverian, difference is? You have to get those bits of lore doing the same gameplay you always do. I prefer not having to go through the grind for a quest just to hear this bit of lore, Leverian ties it up neatly and is well done, I can sit back and listen to Drusus speaking about X warframe in peace and quiet.
Hundreds of weapons in warframe and you doubt that every warframe had a specific weapon? I mean signature weapons do exist and it's been a thing DE has been doing recently for regular warframes. I wouldn't be surprised if they even went back and had older weapons get signature effects with the warframe they released with which I think they did do to an extent. When they introduced it the first few times.

How is the lotus a retcon?

  7. I'd rather not see a female walking animation that heavily emphasizes on the ass being pushed out on male warframes like say Grendel. I hope it stays exclusive to that particular warframe because they have a reason to be floating like that. Be satisfied with noble/agile animations being made universal with plat.

Although I doubt it'll happen since noble/agile animations were always equipable/switchable from since the beginning of warframe hence their ability to be universal compared to all the standardized walking animations that doesn't require a slot nor code to be switchable. Again I hope DE doesn't go out of their way to add this because not only would they have to make Titania's/Wisps animation universal, they would have to literally create unique walking animations for all 30+ warframes because why not. Not worth the trouble just to appease the fashion frame fanatics.

Noone is defending the game though. This is a topic that pops up constantly for one. Two, literally everyone in this thread tells you why it's not implemented, the S#&$ty "easy solution" you provided is not a solution and it. is. not. that. easy. Literally common sense should tell you the difficulty to implement cross save by the mere fact that PC and Consoles are on different versions of the game. DE is at least working on it.

The literal only reason these have a cost at all is because the blueprints that came before them had a cost and DE is for whatever misguided reason attempting to keep those relevant while not addressing the core issue that is plaguing the foundry.

I mean you don't need the restores either way so the person isn't wrong in that it's a luxury item considering it's not a must have item, it's a choice.

No. Shotguns are staying how they are now, just the UI bug with status chance is being fixed.

Shotguns have status chance per pellet, but the UI currently multiplies that by the number of pellets.

So a shotgun with 30% status chance and 8 pellets (Tigris Prime) actually has a 3.75% chance of proccing status per pellet. The new system will multiply that by 3 and properly display status chance per pellet. In this case that's 11.25% status chance per pellet.

It's worth noting that the current build has a bug that's existed for a long time. If total status chance gets above 100% before multishot (i.e. 12.5% per pellet) it would give every pellet 100% status chance. That's being removed. A gun with 100% status chance total will now have the proper 12.5% chance per pellet.

@WhiteMarker they explained it better and in more detail in the devstream.

So all in all, This is a heavy nerf to Tigris prime and any shotgun that was able to reach 100% status chance? Welp #*!%.

  12. 2 hours ago, adek183 said:

Well if it's bothering you so much we can just go with the normal "choose one" scheme but that would mean you essentially "destroy" all the primes that you don't choose and you still "pay" 4 relics.

That's literally the only way this would go out. Being able to open 4 relics by yourself and get ALL 4 relics at the end of the run would just beg the question why run with a squad? Literally there was no downside to what you were suggesting. 4x relic radshare by yourself? #*!% why am I complaining I'm a solo player and that sounds like heaven for farming primes parts.

  13. 8 minutes ago, adek183 said:

Well since you'd be opening 4 at once it's kind of logical to get 4 parts. The thing is as a solo player you'll have to just accept whatever rngsus has given to you while in a squad you can choose a reward from a squadmate.

Do you understand what you're saying? In a co-op session with a full squad you open 4 relics and get a choice to pick ONE of the 4 relics..
What you're suggesting is that in a solo player can open 4 relics and get ALL FOUR RELICS.
If you don't see anything wrong with what you're saying then you really need to reread what you're saying.

  14. Then everyone would become a solo player in a co-op game. And the amount of reactants doesn't matter if I can open 4 void relics at the same time solo.

What you're saying is that I get all 4 void relics? Since your idea of 40 reactants is suppose to remedy the "choose 1 out of 4" that sounds more like a plus for solo players.

  15. 1. Why should creators not get paid for the work that they more than likely spent hours/days/weeks on.
    2. It's steam workshop, more than likely it's required to have it payable by actual money than the game's premium currency
    3. It's much more simple to have it be real money than plat for calculating the cut the DE, steam and the creator gets.
    4. You're on fking PS4 you don't have this issue.

    My theory:

The credits go to three things:

    1) Foundry maintenance. The foundry probably requires some up keep, Ordis most like does this maintenance but we would need to buy some new parts.

    2) Reactor/ ship maintenance. The foundry requires energy which it is probably supplied by a "quantum" reactor for which would need fuel if not also some up keep.

    3) Paper work. I know this sounds quite strange but think about it. It would be chaos if everyone was just 3D printing whatever they want let alone weapons. In the game subnautica it is explained you're only allowed to print a knife because there was once a massacre presumably because someone 3D-printed a bunch of weapons and went on a rampage, which lead to governments banning the printing of weapons. I'd think that in the Warframe universe the printing of weapons isn't banned but is regulated, and if that's the case they'd also want to monitor all the resources and consumables we craft as those are ultimately used for combat. It may just be that every item we craft has to be registered at some kind bureau. My theory is also that all the things we craft can actually be crafted instantaneously but we need to wait for the paperwork to be completed before the printing can begin and that for an additional fee (payed in plat) we can jump the line to have our paperwork checked first, that's why we can rush builds and why in the foundry we just see a hologram until the build time is over. of course there are holes in my theory, namely that we also need to pay even when building things like fish trophies and the fact that we see the arm moving and building the item, but I really like this theory.

Combine the first two points, scroll up to cephalon cordylon and that's your answer.

And why would there be paperwork when you things like Cephalons, subnautica is a completely different story and lore from warframe and I'm pretty sure doesn't compare to the technology in warframe. Who would be regulating the distribution of guns, the Corpus? the ones who always sells their guns to the highest bidder, the grineer? I doubt they'd care since they'll just zerg rush anything and everything. Then the biggest flaw in all of this, is who the hell is gonna be able to monitor a Tenno, not to mention there's no governmental body since the solar system is split up into many different factions.

Just gonna say this now, never try to explain game mechanics in lore, because the time gating in warframe is a game mechanic so is platinum.
