  1. Time to add a new junction to the space map! We got a potential 9th planet that's actually a planet-planet and not Pluto.

Caltech researchers have found evidence of a giant planet tracing a bizarre, highly elongated orbit in the outer solar system. The object, which the researchers have nicknamed Planet Nine, has a mass about 10 times that of Earth and orbits about 20 times farther from the sun on average than does Neptune (which orbits the sun at an average distance of 2.8 billion miles). In fact, it would take this new planet between 10,000 and 20,000 years to make just one full orbit around the sun.

So DE, if we're not going to Tau anytime soon, can we go to this new planet instead?

EDIT: And just so we have a concept for it... we could use something nice and rocky. I could see the Grineer being dumb enough to go out there. Probably where the Orokin sent folks they really REALLY REAAAAALLLY didn't like. Like even more annoying to get to than the Void. Heck, this place being that far away probably makes the Void look like a next door neighbor compared to the rest of the solar system.

  2. Rebecca Ford, aka Space Mom, did an interview with NPR's Planet Money staff, to talk about Digital Extremes, video games, live services, and Warframe. I felt some folks here might want to take a listen to it. It's about 9 to 11 minutes long. And yes, it was on the radio when I was driving home yesterday.

    https://www.npr.org/2024/04/22/1197963994/indicator-from-planet-money-live-service-games-warframe

Feel free to discuss it here.

    Auto-Melee Fixes

    • Fixed getting locked auto-meleeing (even without input) after interacting with items and other actions while melee attacking. Notably:
      • Interacting with Golden Hand Tributes
      • Selecting Duviri Decree
      • Entering Sanctuary Onslaught portal
      • Selecting Endless Void Fissure reward
      • Opening Gear Wheel
      • Using Transference
      • Interacting with turrets in Railjack
        • Known issue: We are aware that this issue can occur from the Stay/Leave screen in the Circuit.
    • Fixed Auto-Meleeing in a certain location in the “Awaken the Sleeper” stage of the Whispers in the Walls Quest causing an interaction to be skipped.
      • Melee will now be disabled when in this area to prevent key moments from being skipped.
    • Fixed getting locked auto-meleeing after holding the ability menu open and auto-meleeing simultaneously while using a controller.
    • Fixed getting locked auto-meeling after opening the pause menu/chat window while holding the Melee attack button.
    • Fixed Auto-melee persisting after exiting a Railjack turret / pilot seat if melee input was held upon entering it.

Lots of Auto-Melee fixes in Dante's update. Still no Auto-Trigger options yet. Hope everyone has a good Easter, and don't forget to get your bunny ears accessories in a few days.

New Loid Vendor Menu: Research Dante
Vessel Capillaries can also be traded to Loid in the Sanctum Anatomica for the rotation rewards listed above (Dante Blueprints, Ruvox Blueprints, Onos Blueprints). Additionally, players can purchase Riven Transmuters here for 180  Vessel Capillaries. These were originally exclusive to Eidolon drop tables, but now have an alternative acquisition path via Loid! Learn more about this new shop at Loid in the “Research Dante Store” section below.

    -- Dante Unbound Patch Notes:

  5. It's almost Easter time. No sign of auto-trigger options coming. Have fun into the random auto-melee getting stuck where I'll keep melee'ing constantly, till I do something to break out of the combo like using a power or swapping to Operator or something. Not sure which exactly. Just know it happens once in a while. And that makes me wonder if that's why we haven't seen any Auto-Trigger discussed, if the Auto-Melee is still being at issue.

Speaking of Auto-Melee, the Pistol+Glaive combo really doesn't seem very fun to use like it used to be, with the new Auto-melee. Not sure why, but maybe it has more to do with not being able to use heavy attacks well when you wield pistol+glaive. I don't know. Something feels off, and the damage lackluster.

So yeah, sorry for being away, but I've mostly been waiting for some fixes to come to Warframe, and I just have been playing less in general. I think last week I had maybe 5 or 6 total missions completed. Eh, anyways, I'm still here. Waiting.

  6. Was having issues with losing connection on Warframe. Had one crash where it just hung up. Now my game is stuck sitting on CHECKING FOR UPDATES... and not progressing. I even uninstalled the game from Steam to see if that would fix it. Not sure what else to do. I even went on the gear icon on the launcher and turned off stuff like Bulk Download, Aggressive Download, and whatever else seemed to be associated with downloading the game.

Never seen it have this problem before. Other games work fine.

Is it just Warframe's servers just being bad or what?

PS: Well, after a few minutes, it got to the Downloading Updates. But it seems to be stuck, displaying 494.0 KB right now. Gunna give it some more time to see if it actually downloads stuff instead of just sitting there.

PPS: Okay, it's finally finished downloading a few things. Now it's verify the cache. I got no idea why the game decided to freak out tonight of all days. Probably because I was having a bad day.

While we're at it - why not toss literally anything else that is difficult to acquire in game into Nightwave so that folks don't have to grind for jacksh*t. Maybe DE changess it's whole business model around and starts charging a large monthly fee for game access then you can just log in and pick WTF ever you want without any effort. Maybe DE starts dumping loot crates all throughout the game and forcing a more P2W style approach to the game.

Wow, I wasn't aware that asking for a single Riven Transmuter, that can only be earned from a single Tridylon, that you can't even purchase from folks who DO farm the Tridylons... that was a bridge too far for you. Because having a Quality-of-Life item stuck behind a single location is gunna make folks REALLY want to do the content. Oh sure, you can sell those Arcanes, but hey, if you want to be able to manage your Riven quantity because you got a bunch of bad ones you don't need, you better capture the Hydrolyst.

You don't have to make strawmen and then make them go bobsledding down your slippery slope argument like a Warframe version of the movie Cool Running. If I could buy said items like Arcanes from other players, I'd LOVE to do that, but I can't. And that's why I asked for another way.

  8. Accessibility Updates? Folks have been asking for a toggle for auto-melee. Any chance that could happen? Also, any word on doing the same for auto-triggers so folks don't have to spam clicks for guns?

Can we get Riven Transmuters in places other than JUST the hydrolyst? Nightwave would be a great place for folks to get a few, since you can't buy them from Tridylon sellers, forcing folks who don't want to do fight the 3 just to get a QoL item? You know... just asking for the community.

And how exactly is DE or anyone going to detect a macro that rapid fires a semi-automatic weapon? arealme.com stated they measured an average of 6.51 CPS in 2019. Does that mean if I mod the Epitaph for a fire rate of 7, I will be flagged for reaching 7 CPS with 100% consistency? Will the game monitor my CPS even if the weapon cannot fire more than 7 times per second (say I set a macro to click 20 times per second)? Will it measure the latency between clicks to check for inhuman consistency? We are already able to rebind gun fire to the scroll wheel, meaning anyone can fire faster than they can click...and it's allowed. A macro that fires 20 times a second when a single button is held down won't be flagged either. The macro sends repeated button presses just like rebinding fire to a 96 step mouse wheel (my Razer Naga V2 for instance). Nobody is being banned for this.

Except that's exactly what DE told Baker TV that was the reason behind his ban from the game.

Either way, just because it MIGHT not be punishable by DE, hell, even if the issue was 100% not punishable by DE, the fact that there is no support for these sorts of modifications on console is going to leave out a large portion of the Warframe populous from being able to use semi-auto weapons comfortably in an accessibility way.

DE has shown they can make these sorts of changes as they did with Auto-Melee. There's no reason they can't do the same for Auto-Trigger. DE does that, and no one risks being banned because they would never have a need to use an external program and/or macro.

In the end, I'd rather avoid a possible landmine than to step on said space a few times to find out if it's actually a landmine.

  10. It's February, and I didn't see the shadow of Auto-Trigger during the last Dev Stream. That means 6 more Prime Times before Spring.

But anyways, I figured I'd bring up something, because I know around here it's been said "Oh, DE won't ban you for using macros". That's not 100% true. What they actually said is here:

...there are other factors involved in receive a ban due to the use of AutoHotKey.exe, including a review of multiple stats on the account in question.  Should you receive a ban that you feel is not warranted, please submit a support ticket and we’ll be sure to review the circumstances regarding your ban as soon as possible.

So, you might have a macro that can work on your mouse to help you shoot quickly, but it's okay... unless DE decides it's not okay.

You know what's easier? Just giving players the option to user Auto-Trigger for both Melee and Ranged weapons. Give players a switch under accessibility. Not only will players NOT be forced to use an outside program that might or might not get them banned, but it helps people with accessibility requirements.

Plus, it's not like DE hasn't banned a content creator for doing this very thing recently, and not just because he managed to go 95 hours in an Endurance Steel Run.

Just asking for DE to fix this issue so it's not an issue so they can make a nice new PSA about how macros are actually bad or something. Because right now, it's a coin flip. And I can't tell others what to do till DE gives some clarity to the whole deal. Yes, maybe I could make a macro to help me play the game without pain, but then I'm subjecting myself to possible bans because DE said "we'll review the ban if you feel it's not warranted". That isn't exactly making me go "Why sure, let me get those macros loaded up!"

    Hello Tenno!

Here with a quick PSA to keep you informed that we are upgrading some of our servers today, doubling the existing RAM in 3 of our servers up to 768GB!

We do not expect any impact to your gameplay and are monitoring to ensure a smooth upgrade.

    Thanks!

But will you be able to play Crysis 1 on Ultra settings with only that much ram? :clem:

  12. Happy New Year.

Almost 4 months away from this thread turning 2 years old. Melee has auto; accessibility has been getting some focus with visual options; still no auto-trigger for semi-auto weapons (especially ones with high RoF).

Melee should have the option to choose to use Auto-Melee though, in the Accessibility option, but it doesn't currently happen. Hopefully we'll see some new changes in stuff in the new year.

Necraloid (as far as we know) is the only one in existence, created by Entrati as an assistant for Loid.

This is so completely wrong. Cephalons are not made from "folks who get their brain all cleaned and stuffed into some computer parts". Unless you want to count being Glassed as getting their 🧠 cleaned.

Necraloid is just the use of the word "Necra" and "Loid". Considering that Entrati equipment all have the prefex of "Necra" in it, it would make sense that if they wanted to, they could make more Necraloid sentinel parts (called Loid Sentinel Skin, Mask, Wings, and Tail), which they sell to us for our own Sentinels.

And yes, getting "Glassed" to varying degrees makes Cephalons. I didn't want to spoil that part, but since it seems that I can't do anything in this thread to keep it focused on the ACTUAL content, sure we can talk. Anyways, folks like Cephalon Suda elected to have herself turned into an AI, whereas some like Ordis had it forced upon them. How much they remember of their original lives is part of the "getting their brain all cleaned". Obviously, folks like Nihil, he remembered more than others, since well, he could control how much of his brain got "cleaned" during the process.

Obviously the Loid Cephalon is in a Necra Loid Sentinel.

The REAL question is... Since Cephalons are made in a process that is quite destructive to the original being, yet Loid Prime is okay... how did Albert Entrati make a clone mind of Loid to stuff into a Cephalon to stuff into a Sentinel body.

Also, the CINTA bow. Those parts totally could be part of the Duviri faction and would allow folks to not have to farm. Not sure I mentioned that before but maybe I did.

  14. Not that this is a lore-based feedback post but... hell, I'll mention my view on Cephalons and Necraloids.

Cephalons are AIs made from folks who get their brain all cleaned and stuffed into some computer parts.

Necraloids like Loid (not-original) are moving bodies that can house an AI and act like a physical and non-physical assistant. Loid the Necraloid has a copy of Loid installed in the shell as well as Otak, sort of crammed into one case.

So like the updated Ordis seen in The New War, the Necraloid is just a fancy name for a moving shell, specifically the ones made by the Entrati family, where as Ordis' sentinel design was probably an actual type of sentinel with the Cephalon part wired into it. In the end, it's just a fancy title for an AI that's got a physical form.

Also, speaking of buying mods... I'd be down for Little Duck selling a copy of Sabot Rounds for Archguns because I've had horrible luck getting that mod to drop as well from bounties. Again, more things could be added to give folks stuff to spend their rep on.

Typical things you encounter on the forums.

Anyways, considering we have pity shops having this in some way would be good. I would be okay putting these in Sanctum Anatomica since the necramech mods you can't even buy from Cephalon! Loid is available there, Arum Spinosa and Sporothrix could be there. It's not like these weapons are purely game-changers. You can make them use their own special currency if needed be.

Exactly. Adding some of those parts to faction-shops in a pity system isn't gunna break the game. It'll make it a bit easier to get MR unlocked, for players, since most all the things I mentioned in my first post aren't devastating monsters.

No one is gunna call the Lato Vandal OP, even if you put a Zeriman adapter on it. No one will say "The Nautilus Sentinel is game-breaking and is the MUST HAVE pet to use."  The Arum Spinosa isn't going to become the GO-TO melee if the parts were available for purchase instead of having to go back to grinding once more into the Isolation Vault's bad drop table.

The Pity vendor system is really good. It's good for folks to have options. We could use more of them, to be consistent across the game from 1 faction vendor to the latest ones.

    *snip*

How about an actual reason you're against it instead of just a meme?

    • Is it because I didn't "earn it" if I don't personally throw myself against the Warframe Grindwheel to get the parts I need to finish mastery?
    • Is it because "I could just buy said parts from someone else instead"?
    • Is it just because you are against changing things in a game that has constantly evolved over the last 10+ years?

Help me understand why you think this is a bad idea and not just try to force me into yet another attempt to get me to learn telepathy and mind reading. I've spent 20+ years at work and not once have I ever managed to learn how to read someone's minds, despite them trying their damnedest to make me NEED to know how to in order to do my job.

But seriously, what's the issue? Are you one of those folks who used to farm Arcanes and sell them and are still bitter that DE now has a way for you to avoid that with the inclusion of the Arcane Alchemy? All I can do is guess at your motivations.

Or don't explain yourself. That's fine too. You do you. I'm just trying to improve the game.

  17. Hi DE.

Thanks for putting the Necramech parts needed to build both the mechs and the weapons as part of Loid's offerings. I finally managed to just buy the parts I was missing so I could build both the Cortege & the Morghra. I hadn't really noticed until recently that Loid sold the missing parts I needed to build those two archguns, so I was quite happy to see this change. I guess it happened in Update 34.0, back in October.

Now... do this for OTHER rep vendors with OTHER drop table items that are a pain for players have to grind for (and still might not have after several years of play).

Stuff like the Arum Spinosa parts & the Sporothrix parts (hey, I actually finished this one after 2+ years of grinding) from the Deimos Vaults, the Lato Vandal and Braton Vandal parts from Sanctuary Onslaught, the Shedu parts from the Sentients, any of the random parts needed to build weapons and companions from Railjack...

So many of these parts have never dropped for me, despite having played the game since Beta. Putting the vault parts in the Entrati rep for purchase would help those of us with absolutely abysmal luck. Give the Sanctuary Onslaught items to Simaris to sell. Shedu parts could be sold by Little Duck, since she knows a ton about Sentinent stuff. And the Railjack items... give them to the Perrin guy who sells weapons for Holo Keys for a few holo keys for those parts.

It's not like I haven't put in a TON of work for all these factions. The least they could do is be like Loid and sell me the parts I want/need for some standing. I have PLENTY of that, but no actual Luck.

SELL ME THESE PARTS, DE! Pleeeeasssseeee!

  18. Update happened yesterday. Let's do a look at all the accessibility changes that were part of it!

    • Added a “Preview Visual Effects Intensity” toggle in the Accessibility options to enable/disable the pop-up preview that appears when making changes to the Visual Effects Intensity slider. This is always disabled by default and must be toggled on each time you want to check how change will apply.

    ...That's it?

Yeah, so nothing good to mention here on the Give Players Less Painful Control Schemes via Accessibility side of things. At least the Grimore (spell-book secondary) is auto trigger at least. So yeah. A weapon not horrible to use for the player.

Sepulcrum has an altfire lock-on mode that's accessible once you get 5 kills with the primary fire.  Radial damage, radius, crit, crit damage, and status go way up in that mode. Extremely engaging, and one of my favorite and most used weapons.  Cyanex is way up there too, although I find its homing mode more convenient but not anywhere near as satisfying as Sepulcrum's.

I tried the Sepulcrum since I haven't really used it since it came out and...  I find it's alt-fire annoying to use because it only can lock up to 5 folks and you end up just not doing a lot while you wait to gather the locks. And with Stuff Dies Fast Frame going on, it's just easier to fire and forget with the Cyanex, even if the explosions aren't nearly as cool.

The Sepulcrum would be better with a 'Camera' view where you could aim CLOSE to an enemy like the Lok-1 from DRG instead of having to swipe over what I want to shoot. Seriously, more lock-on weapons working like the Lok-1 would be amazing and make stuff feel better. And then I'd probably enjoy the Sepulcrum if they changed it to work more like it.

I wasn't trying to bring Cyanex into this, or taking any stand on Diplos at all.  I was just pointing out an interesting tactic that the person I was responding to might not have been aware of, and I believe that turned out to not be the case.

    I guess I'm just glad I didn't bring up Sepulcrum... :P

Oh, it's quite alright. I just like the Cyanex. It just out performs the Diplos and is easier to use. I think if we're gunna talk auto-targeting weapons, it's a valid discussion to say "This one is GREAT while this other one SUCKS".

And... I forget what the Sepulcrum does. I haven't picked it for mission use in YEARS. Which is a real shame because I love the Trumna so much, and it's from the same time period.
