  1. I strongly dislike Limbo. Even when he's not trolling, the sight of a cataclysm just makes me want to knock him out of an airlock. Edit: There's a time and place for something like a cataclysm, and I rarely see it being used in that time or place.

At least its not as bad as around his release when there was a glitch that made you permanently banished for the duration of the mission.

  2. Rhino's Palatine pack is just too amazing lol. Even Nyx's Nemesis skin and Ex's Prisma and Proto skin are up there. Makes me wonder who approved this Loki design and why after turning out those prior three lol

The original concept looked great.  The final product looks like they tried to cram someone who's too big for the suit into it.

  3. On a phone so I'll keep this short:

    Yes and no.

    Major updates were great.

    Frame reworks were great.

I feel like there has been an increased use of rng in the game which I do not like.

Chinese stuff. They're getting stuff before us, and the content built for them seems... Out of place. I saw someone comparing nikana prime to plastic earlier, and I agree. I feel like it still needs something more.

Edit: guy above me reminded me of archwing. Still needs work.

  4. I don't like Tenshin anymore than I like the Lotus.  Which isn't much.

I know lore wise the Tenno are very similar to Tenshin with strict codes of honor and combat, but he will most likely lead us to our destruction.

I think the Lotus will likely lead us to our destruction(or her own) in time as well.

Darvo, on the other hand.  He takes care of his comrades, but he probably won't fare well leading an army of super powered warriors.

I believe no known character in Warframe could do a great job at leading the Tenno.  For now we are stuck with the Lotus, but I would not be surprised if that changes in the next few updates.

  5. Think she's pretty great.  Of her abilities I tend to use the noise arrow the least.

I also keep getting pulled into the "just leave 3 on" trap.  I feel its limiting the frames overall potential to be heavily reliant on this power.

I wish navigator didn't consume so much energy as it is by far my favorite ability in the kit, but after killing a handful of enemies with it I'm out of energy.

  6. what exactly are they doing that's so bad? I'm confused.

If anything the new racing event that they launched seems pretty damn awesome and a great way for pvp players to catch up to pve players.  I haven't played it yet, but from what I read I kind of want to pat bungie on the back for a cool event.  The only thing I'd comment on is the sparrow pack, but I've got some really good sparrows just by playing anyway.

Edit: shouldn't this be in off topic?

  7. The problem is vets (ill count myself in that too) have all the top tier weapons and frames multi formad with max mods, we have an answer to everything.

Get into one of those sorties with a player with lesser gear (corpus extrimus defense sortie with a rhino using a 22 gorgon and 13 tipido as an example) things....dont go so well

The sorties cant be geared toward the top % of players, thats suposedly what the nightmare raids are for.

I could have sworn that sorties were supposed to be endgame content.

They're supposed to be the hardest missions in the game(other than raids).  Players going in with things like a 22 gorgon have to realise that they shouldn't be there with that kind of weapon as they are hurting the team.

  8. Another possible solution is multiplying the cap by 7 and resetting it weekly instead of daily.

With this, people who are limited to playing only a couple days out of the week still have as much opportunity as those who play daily.

Simply making it weekly doesn't solve the problem.  Its the same cap, just multiplied by seven.  Without any type of scaling the problem with the current cap will persist.

Also, I almost prefer the daily cap because it encourages more frequent interaction with the game.

    Edit:

ähm...this isn´t a race between players..where is the problem if some people have better gear then others if they play more? this is a co-op game..

Yes, it is a co op game, but there will always be a race to have the best gear, and some players will selectively pick out the players with the best gear to play with.  The cap exists to help blur the line between the players that try to be the best and the players who want to play with other goals in mind(not to say they can't be the same people, though).  It keeps a wall from forming between the two groups.

  9. Oh, no, its one of those threads!

    Yes, yes it is.

Alright, so the focus cap is there for a reason.  That reason is to keep people from finishing their trees in a few days.(by means of both exploits and grinding)

Personally I hate it.  I feel so restricted.  Like I'm being knocked back into the pace of other players.

For the main idea, go right on to #3 under possible solutions.

    Moving on:

    The Good

I'm going to try to point out some good things here.

    1) The cap prevents people from using exploits to complete this endgame progression system.  Nobody likes exploits except for the exploiter.  It helps keep them in line.

    2) The cap keeps some players from becoming ridiculously OP while more casual gamers(or people who put their lense in the wrong place) are left in the dust.  It keeps the unbalanced playing field created by things like mods from becoming even more out of whack.  It also gives the devs time to balance things out before most players reach it and are outraged when things get nerfed.

    3) It gives players time to think about where points are being spent.  When a player needs to spend two or three days to unlock something they're going to be pretty damn sure that where they're putting those points is where they want them to be.  As a result players will waste less points on things they aren't going to use.

    The Bad

    1) It prevents players from playing how they want to play.  They have mothers, spouses, and real life responsibilities for that.  Why add something to the list?

    2) Some players can not play every day, but are still restricted to the same cap on days when they can.  As a result caps cause players to fall behind.

    3) Flamewars.  Hi there, internet!  Some players will feel the empowered as everyone is forced to play at their pace(or at least near) and will argue with those that don't want to be because they want to play at their own pace.  I don't think this is what you want players to be arguing about.  Live at let live.  Let the more casual- actually let's not call them that, as for some reason some players take it as a derogatory term- the average players move at whatever pace they want and the hardcore crowd... well, be hardcore.

    Possible solutions:

    (insert fix_it.gif here)

Just do it) Do something about team focus gain.  A lot of players are losing out on focus due to putting lenses on things like trinity.  I think a saw that it was being worked on... or is it done?  Whatever, just do it.

    1) Increase the cap.  Not really a solution, rather a temporary fix to get people to calm down for a bit.

    2) Remove the cap.  Results in dozens of people completing focus in a few days, and the rest carry on at their own pace.  I guess you could also say exploiters win here(unless the exploits being used for this are fixed).

    3) My favorite, the solution that originally got me making this thread: make a cap the progressively increases over time.  I got this idea from a game called Skyforge.  I'm not going to go too into detail about the game, but rather how it treats caps.  In the game you gain gems that can be used to unlock nodes in your characters progression tree, but the amount is limited by a cap.  At each cap reset the player's cap is increased.  This means that as a player progresses to bigger and more expensive nodes, rather than being locked in place for 2-3 resets their cap scales upward to accommodate for the expensive nodes.

I believe the warframe focus cap can benefit from using this system as an example.  Rather than making a player's focus cap stay at 75k each day I believe the system could benefit from increasing by an amount each day(it could be a flat amount or exponential) .  So on day one after unlocking focus the cap would be 75k, and at day 2 it will be 77.5k, and day 3 it will be at 80k and so one and so forth.  This system gives some of the benefits of the caps, such as keeping players from using exploits to complete trees extremely quickly and giving them time to carefully consider their next move.

At the same time this system extends the amount of time that the system will take to complete and will eventually allow players to play however them want.  It also means that players can afford more expensive nodes in less time.

As for weekend warriors, I believe a small amount of the points from the previous cap that were not gained should transfer to the next day.  This means that players who play on the weekend only will have their standard daily cap plus a small amount added for each day that they couldn't log in.  This will allow them to almost keep up with the people who play all week.  If it is only a small amount of the focus point cap that carries over each day players are still encouraged to log in on days that they can and not  wait until the amount that they could get in one sitting is ridiculously high.

This system also benefits people who only play once every few months, as they have the increased cap that has been growing over the last few months in addition to the amount gained from all those days not played.  If they so please, these people can gain all those focus points to almost catch up with the rest of the playerbase and jump right into the latest content with their friends.

    Theres my idea.  I tried.

  10. Well... The passive energy gain is still working.  At 1 point per second per rank it's not that bad.

And have you seen the umbra lance?  It has a decent sized duration and some crazy damage on it.  Just dive into any mob that you want to obliterate with that thing on and they're as good as dead.  I hope its duration increases with rank though.

  11. I personally liked the Tenno's introduction into the game.

Imagine walking into a room and seeing a pod open up only to reveal a small body.  You were told that in this pod was the secret of your power- could that be it, a child?

Then it begins to slide from the pod.  And then you feel it.  That feeling of falling while you're asleep.  You wake up.

Was it all a dream?  In front of you is one of several bodies that you had believed was yours for several centuries.  It stares at you, and shortly after collapses to its knees, the faint glow of energy fading from its form.  If it was a dream then how was it there?

You crawl to it, feeling defenseless.  You want that power back, you need the frame.  Once in direct contact you gain feeling in the warframe's body again.  From the frame's headset you hear a familiar voice, one from the long dream telling you to run and to harness a power long forgotten to drive away your foes.

The place you run through seems all too familiar, but you can't stop to remember it all.  You remember someone trying to help you, but failed.  You remember the people who feared you.  Your people.

The ship of your dreams arrives and takes you away from that place.  You feel sick.  The voice tells you to get to the back of the orbiter, that there you will be safe.

The menace of your dreams awaits your arrival, wishing to drive you away from safety and back into the darkness.  You are not enough, but your frame, your armor, and your sword does not give up.  It breaks the menace's power and drives back the darkness before falling dormant.

You are awoken by the voice of your dreams as you are placed on your throne...

That's my interpretation of the end of the second dream(in semi-broken english)

  12. I just want to know how people are even able to reach the cap in the first place.  I imagine that you have to treat Warframe like a full-time job to achieve that.

    EDIT: Wow.

Meanwhile, others struggle to scratch 10k per hour for playing the game in the standard way (endless missions, rare resource farming, etc.).  What's so bad about the cap when it takes this pace into account?

I haven't been getting nearly as much as they have, but if I've learned anything sinse the launch of focus it's that stealth gameplay is many times faster than endless mission when it comes to gaining affinity.

Just because some players choose the play in the "standard" way doesn't mean that people who know better should suffer for it.

  13. Saw a Saryn player the other day spamming 4.

As a Saryn main I wanted to rip his head off.  The idea of the rework was to stop the one button wonder, not so you can continue doing it and wonder why it isn't working as well as it used to!

I haven't been playing Saryn the last few days not because of the rework(I loved it!) but because I'm busy playing Ivara
