  1. Hey,

This is a bug I experienced yesterday : If the Lich loses a HP bar while he is doing his melee grab animation on another player, and mercy kill is used on that lich, it will afterwards be stuck in it's kneeling, recovering state. It can no longer be mercy killed, and it will not stand back up and resume the fight normally, while the hp recovery does not stop.

Bug : Kuva Lich gets stuck in recovery state.

How to replicate : Mercykill a lich while he is grabbing another player.

I might just be bias and like revenant, but what's so bad about his 4? I've never had any issues with it, it's a adaptive damage dealer. Sure you can't afk in it, but it's a useful quick room clearer.

Mostly the cost of it after his nerf, and that his mesmer skin is not enough to keep him alive at higher levels during it (but then again Mesmer skin is a bit undertuned in my opinion). Well and that you are stuck inside the ult, not being able to do anything except use his dash ability; with Mesa's Peacekeeper you at least have to aim (now), and her shattershield leaves her way less vulnerable during it.

    Dear ShikiRen,

Please calm down. This game is for all types of people, people who enjoy CC, DMG, and everything else.

You cannot stereotype every warframe, for example,

I thoroughly enjoy Revenant, his damage does not suck, and these types of abilities going on the last 3 out of 4 warframes shows that DE is experimenting.

Do not forget where Warframe has come from.

If you don't want to try something new,

    then just leave.

Oh, the irony. "If you do not want to try something new, just leave." I DO WANT them to try something new, which is my effing point. You even QUOTED it for crying out loud! How you can think that slapping basically the same ability on 3 out off 4 frames is "experimenting" and trying to do "something new" is beyond me. If copypasting an ability and just change a variable here or there( "nono this is not a spin, it is a straight beam! Totally different! And this is a spin with a lot less range, see?!") is something new, then every cookie clicker game where they just changed the falling speed of the cookies is something new.

And if they want to experiment with different versions of the same ability... well that is what the design team is for right? You'd assume they'd test multiple spins on the same ability until they find the one that works best instead of slapping each iteration of it on a new frame until they make something that is actually decent.

Also, if you had actually read through the thread you'd have seen I actually had calmed down and wrote out some ideas I had to make her better and still basically the same. But you saying "The same ability 3 times is trying something new!" just made me annoyed again. Also Revenants damage does not suck completely...true. Which is why they cranked up the energy cost to the moon after about a week.

Also, another thing that completely invalidates them trying "Something new" : Revenant's ult literally is a new attempt at making "World on Fire" abilities work...which is on one of the original frames. Totally innovative, there. And hey, if it had just been Revenant, I'd have no problem. My Problem with Revenant lies with other things. But then they almost gave Garuda the SAME ability, just melee ranged before they changed it. Now they give Wisp that ability, only it is a beam, so pretty much worse from the get-go. Only that Wisp's stats and other abilities do not lend themselves to an ability that makes her a sitting duck that dies in 3 seconds. Really, do what I said in another post : Try Revenant against a group of sortie 3 level corrupted/grineer gunners/bombards, and do not activate his mesmerskin. Then try and see how far you can go with your ult before dying. That is about what Wisp will feel like. Only her beam does not hit everyone around her, so enemies at her back can take her out in a second or two without being threatened.

So... yeah. TL,DR : I do want something new, slapping minimally changed versions of the same ability (which is based on the ult of one of the first frames) on 3 out of 4 frames is the opposite of something new.

Aha... how is this NOT true for every single Warframe? Lol

Because if you do that with most other warframes, you die in a second and that is that. I personally do not think that every frame has to be a tank master, but they should at least be sortie and arbitration viable, and with these stats, basically no survivability abilities and her kit suffering from a lot of Vauban's and Titania's issues (only Vauban at least has good CC) and making herself easy to hit with her ult... Yeah.

Basically, try going into the simulacrum as Revenant with a decent amount of lvl 110 corrupted, do NOT use his mesmer skin , use his ult and see how long you live. That is about how survivable Wisp is, only her beam is not even AOE but directed.

Then remind yourself of how annoying Titania's buffs are, and how unreliable decoy/charm abilities can be, and that is with abilities that actually stick around instead of being here this moment, gone the next.

Then think about how bad Vauban's traps are because they are stationary, and imagine having to use another ability that only procs damage from them. That type of thing works in MMO's (eg. Guild Wars 2, Scourge's sand shades) because of largely stationary enemies and in general less enemies at a time, but it does not work well in Warframe, which they admitted not even 10 minutes before when talking about why Vauban is due for a full kit rework.

Then add the fact that except for her 2 her other abilities are a complete flavour-fail, and you have the reason why I was so mad yesterday.

And as for posting it in GD... they have been ignoring feedback concerning frames (and on occasions weapons) for quite a while now, INCLUDING the design council, so it does not really matter where I post this.

Also here are some ideas I came up with in about 10 minutes for ways to fix some of the issues I see with her kit and how to fix the flavour, while still sticking as close as possible to DE's version even if I do not like it.

#1 : Keep it roughly the same, but change the flowers into small floating flames, and instead of having it be deployables make them hover around wisp and then split and attach themselves to allies withing a decently sized radius (so more like Oberons Rejuv); If they absolutely have to keep them as deployables, still make them into flames and give them a decently sized pick-up radius, eg. Oberon grasspatch, but unaffected by range, and make them drain-based instead of a timer.

#2 : One idea would be to make Wisp dash forward herself, and gaining intangibility (possibly percentage based) for a time after it, playing to the legends of will-o'-the wisps leading people astray. Current version is fine though.

#3 Get rid of it. It is the same design they are reworking Vauban for, why does this ability even exist?! To still keep it largely the same, have it pulse off of all frames that have the buffs on them , but I'd really rather have something that let's her survive in arbitrations and T3 sorties, be it a mist-cloak that gives damage reduction/chance to have attacks phase through her or a wide area CC+Damage ability,or something that makes her float so she becomes invisible via her passive.

#4 Depends. If her 3 gives survivability, reflavour it as channeling a ghostly flame instead of the sun, and make sure it scales decently. If she does not get additional survivability, get rid of it or add survivability onto it, because she becomes a sitting duck while using it.

Subject to change, as I said that was just ideas I could come up with within 15 minutes.

  5. Her 4 did definitly not blow everyone away. None out of my circle of friends likes it because it is a Revenant ult. Again. Almost for the third time in 4 frames (they had Garuda's ult the same way until people did not like it). It looks amazing, yes. It would be way better as a third single shot ability though instead of yet another "I can not do anything else, slowly float around and deal meh damage for stupidly high energy costs" ability.

Agreeing on the 1 and 3.

As for the 2, distraction abilities are notorious for being the worst CC in the game, it is very short duration, and teleports do not help.

  6. So, just saw the Wisp ability reveal and I have to ask : DE, are you even capable of learning from past mistakes?

Because Wisp has the absolute worst ability of every type, so bad that her PASSIVE is the best her kit has to offer.

#1 : Deployables which almost nobody likes, that also have to be collected like Titania's buffs which, guess what, almost nobody likes.

#2 : The worst type of cc and in the worst possible implementation for it. Coupled with a teleport which is useless since bullet ujmps do a better job.

#3 : A damage ability centered around her deployables, which not only goes COMPLETELY against the philosophy you decided on reworking vauban with, your damage abilities that are not the exalted type are notoriously bad.

#4 : And number 4, another take on the Revenant-ult-type which nobody effing likes because you are stuck in the animation not using anything else, the damage usually sucks, and you tried to put that ability on 3 of the last 4 frames for crying out loud.

On top of that, her stats mean she will be completely useless due to dying in 1 hit in anything above lvl 60.

  7. I also have to say, please make her Balefire automatically equip when she uses Aegis Storm.

Also please let us hover downwards by angling the mouse down, instead of always having to use "Crouch" for it, or at least let us dash downwards.

And we really need to be able to Shield Pillage during her 4.

  8. So, I've just seen the DevStream, and switching fluently between melee and Gunplay looks great... there is just one issue I have. I'm using LMB to melee attack in melee mode, because it is way more conveniant, especially on gunblades. So I fear being able to rembind the melee key to LMB while holding a melee weapon will be removed with the new system, which would make melee (especially gunblades) feel really awkward to me and others that rebound their melee-mode attack key to LMB.

  9. So I've been playing Garudo for quite a bit now, and it is exactly as I previously feared : The "more damage the lower your hp are" and "sacrifice half your hp for some energy" passive and ability are bad and counterintuitive, and the range on her spires is pitiful.

    Passive :

Horrible. Absolutely horrible. A simply look at game history should show you that "more damage the closer to death you are" is NEVER, EVER a good idea, because either it means you immediatly die, or it needs something equally unhealthy like a 360° shield or invulnerability to make it work. The single exception is skill-based games where you can dodge everything that would damage you. Which WF is not by any means.

    Ability 1 :

The Dread Mirror is easily her best ability. The protection is nice, the Bloodorb damage can get insane, and using it for mobility works for the most part; Aside from a bug that makes you fall through the floor sometimes, which led to me failing one of the main Fortuna mission segments since it respawned me at the entrance. Also the shield seems to let bullets through sometimes, but it might be me not noticing enemies at my sides/back.

    Ability 2 :

Blood Spire seems fine at first; However, the range is simply WAY too short, the healing over time cannot even come close to abilities such as Oberon's Rejuv, and it making you dash into melee as well is terrible. And it is a single target CC which is also not worth it.

    Ability 3 :

Here we come to a MASSIVE flaw in the kit. This ability is completely worthless. It makes you more likely to die, the hp to energy ratio is terrible, and it provides no other benefit except enabling the horrible passive. Just NO.

    Ability 4 :

The scaling on this needs fixing/it need to scale with mods on her innate talons or something. Otherwise it is simply not worth 100 energy. I now noticed what the debuff does. It makes any weapon hit have a %age chance to cause slash procs, meaning after the initial hit you will burn through enemies with almost any weapon. Thus, the base damage does not need to be higher, and the ult is good where it is at.

Conclusion : It has the makings of a great frame, but is currently critically flawed. Still a lot of fun for the most part.

Suggestion : My ideas on how to make the frame work better as a whole (without requiring major ability reworks (!): Change the 3rd ability - Make it drain less hp from yourself and instead of gaining energy you gain a buff that heavily increases armor and slightly increases damage. Increase the range of her second ability by a decent amount. Change her to be a Health-only frame; And for the passive, do something like "increased critical hit chance vs bleeding targets".

    What do y'all think?

  10. 2 hours ago, AlinaBee said:

Yeah I did, makes no difference despite the name on the skill and the description suggesting that it uses her talons. Initial effect doesn't scale with anything.

Gotcha, was a long shot anyway.

You know that all Warframes shall not be balanced for level 2000 bombards content ?

Most players will never experiment past level 30 stuff, that's where the Warframe shall be fun to play. Stick with Ivara if you want to do Mot 20 hours, nobody really cares tbh.

Garuda seems extremely fine and fun right now.

Yes, but let me tell you a secret: As long as there are frames that are balanced as such, people will just play those, as they ALSO do better at low levels.Besides I'm talking lvl 70 content hee, she becomes terrible way before even sorties, which should be the standard at this point.

Also...extremely fine? She literally has an ability that halves her hp for some energy, 0 other benefits. Which is really terrible when lvl 40 Napalms or scorches can burn down 1k hp/shield in 2 seconds.

What SHOULD be is her being a pure hp frame with abilities costing hp on top of energy, or being able to cast abilities for hp instead of energy, and then a method to heal her self; and then make the abilities stronger due to the added risk. But no. An entire ability slot wasted on sth that you get as a passive from 2 mods.

I have a new idea for Garuda's four,  Maybe if her giant claws on her arms grew and she threw them in every direction dealing high slash damage  and they would gradually grow back too as well after using it. It could also synergize with her one when she sacrifices some health to deal even more slash damage.

Yep. Hell I'd take a half claw half throwing knives exalted weapon. I mean if she at least ran normally, but she just floats through the world slowly. just infinitly inferior to the likes of Valkyr, even if Valkyr did not have invulnerability.

  13. As stated in the title, I'm really disappointed with the shown abilities, or at least most of them.

For one "the lower hp the better" concepts NEVER work out, and especially in a game like this where you'd get oneshot even if you were at full HP if you are not a specific set of frames in higher levels. The self heal is completely asynergistic with this goal as well, as using it makes you weaker, and you have to stand still to get oneshot by the next bombard coming your way.

The frame has no way of survival. The shield was extremely sluggish, covers too little an area, and a bombard rocket will most likely still damage you through it. Charging the blood orb to deal damage is a death sentence, and we all know just how bad 99% of damage abilities are in this game, the damage becomes completely useless past lvl 70.

The self healing is useless since she is going to die in one hit anyways, and she even brings herself closer to death.

Then there is the ult... Good lord we just had revenant who had a BETTER version of this! And it was uninspired there too!.

So in summary : The frame has bad survivability, amost certainly bad damage, a terrible ult and terrible CC. What exactly does she DO? Even Ember is not as terribly asynergistic, at least she can CC somewhat.

And the worst part, there were such great fan concepts of a blood based frame, and every single one was miles better than this. Another great visual design wasted on a terrible gameplay concept.

  14. Ok so... Khora has to be the worst Warframe currently in the game.

Her 1 is awkward to hit, takes way too long for what it does, makes you stand still and is extremely inconsistent.

Her 2 is the WORST cc ability in the entire game; It is worse than Titanias Lantern FFS. It has a long casttime that makes you stand still, needs a direct target, and it snares one additional enemy at a time...if it does at all, since half the time it does not.

Her cat... is actually better than I thought, her best ability by far.

Her 4 is also among the worst CC abilities in the game. It is worse than Harrows FIRST ability, and it is supposed to be an ult! It also is worse in every aspect compared to Bastille. The range is tiny, it only affects enemies that hit the chains, the casting time takes for ever (I think it actually matches Nekros' Shadows o the Dead casttime)... Absolutely dreadful.

The only good part Khora has going for her is the visual design.

In my opionion the biggest fail of a frame ever released.

  15. 6 minutes ago, Shry0b said:

This is quite odd: a lot of people is not happy with her 4th.

Just another reason to keep pushing forward.

Her 4th is terrible; It is a way worse bastille, and that is a third ability... just wow. Also my friend was really looking forward to an exalted whip :/

  16. 2 hours ago, BlackCoMerc said:

From a game play perspective though...how far is that? No way to tell.

If I use it, will I hit that group if Enemies? Are they too far away? Too close? Just right? No way to be sure, except to estimate based on past uses...

Which makes using the mode clunky and unreliable.

Not really, you figure it out after like one or 2 missions, and when in doubt just aim a little over their heads, the range of the explosion is massive.
