  1. Don't forget that decoy can be used to block lasers, creating a small section that can allow other players to run right through. I've seen a few "good guy loki"s do this for teams that didn't shoot out the cameras and/or didn't know how to get through the doors. (It's sad that it happens, but it does happen).

    Also, I've read that you can use switch teleport to take a good sniping position... Though I haven't seen this first-hand, and imagine that the opportunity rarely presents itself.

     

    Invisibility can be used to keep aggro off of you while rezzing teammates!

    Max out rush, marathon, and equip some defensive mods (vitality, redirection, etc) to solo speedrun pluto missions for super-fast credit farming.

    Or just challenge people to races, and then switch-teleport them just before extraction, on the off chance that they actually get ahead.

  2. I don't go around insulting players. I go around insulting and calling the game hugly flawed compared to what it once was before. Before all these patches I was no where to be seen enjoying the game and having fun. Then they put Glaive into the Alert System... then they nerfed some guns... then they put a Warframe into the Alert System... then they nerfed this.

     

    Honestly I don't insult players as often. I did once calling all the people who had tons of free time basement dwellers but I don't do that anymore now do I?

    Have you ever stopped to think that maybe you're insulting the devs? You're insinuating that this game (their creative work) is unfit for play, that their creative vision for the game has no merit, and are outright denouncing their attempts to make the game a better place for everyone. If you REALLY want to make the game more fun, I highly suggest you take Drusus' advice, and try to make your feedback more constructive.

     

     

     I'm all for constructive feedback, but you have yet to be doing much of that.

Believe me brother, it's not so much the feeling of then compared to now, it's the combination of very slow mod acquisition, the immense amount of alloy needed for the BP's of the basic weapons and the trickle of worthy Fusion cores to help level my cards. It's not fun at all and feels like a huge drag :(

  4. I'm only this far because I was dragged. When I was trying to do it solo I couldn't go past Cassini. I feel like I'm not progressing in terms of upgrading or getting better. In terms of planets oh that's easy. I can just ask one of my Guild to bring me to Kappa or something.

    You're not supposed to be soloing at the beginning of the game, anyway.

     

    If you played without cash during start of open beta you wouldn't be complaining. (Cash has been boosted since.)

    I'm inclined to agree here. We're getting credits much faster than we used to (even on the first few planets, it's a substantial difference). If they lowered the market prices, and took us back to farming Vor, it be a huge step backwards in terms of progression.

  5. remember those weapons the DE had in their live stream ? imagine if they bring a Braton ? or a Dark Sword ? yes, if i can get my hand on one of those i'll try to pack one to DE HQ, a pack of Life Sized Braton, Skana and Lato.

    I was wanting to do this! :P I wasn't sure which I was going to make, but I really wanted to send them something as well.

  6. Based on what was said in livestream 5... It almost sounded like throwing knives would be considered a sidearm, since someone said paris, throwing knives, and glaive would be the ultimate set up for stealth. Could have just been a way of calling them out for being silent, but to me it sounded like they can be all used together.

    Correct. DE_Steve said that you could run with the Paris, Throwing knives, and Glaive for a completely silent loadout.

  7. So... Nothing in this game would make me feel more like a ninja than models that were based on period weapons. Any chance that we can get a bo shuriken (throwing spike) skin for the throwing knives when they are released? There are tons of different designs out there that the devs could pull from. Personally, I'd really like to some negishi-ryu shuriken. I'm not sure if this is what the current model they're working on will look like, but if not, I just thought I'd drop the suggestion to make it a skin. ;]

     

    I found a picture that seems to be relatively accurate as far as the design and the size. I made a few in the past (though nowhere near as well-made), and I've seen them with the handles wrapped and without. Maybe make the models in game a bit bigger to show them off?

  8. I would say it's time to upgrade unfortunately, not really any magic buttons that's going to fix outdated hardware i'm afraid.

    Any ideas where the bottlneck is? I'm not against upgrading, but I doubt I'd buy a new rig over it. Also, I'm wondering how people with much less powerful machines are able to run the game without seeing such severe drops in fps, so if I have to run it on lower end hardware to get better performance, I will.

     

     

    Your machine is much much better than the one I own but I never encountered lag when those skills are cast. Have you tried playing in lower res?

    What res are you running warframe in? Also, what are your specs, if you don't mind my asking? ^_^

     

  9. So... I always get terrible fps lag when another player uses an ability like snowglobe or chaos.

    Like... Unreasonable lag. I drop to 5-8 fps any time one of these abilities is used, when normally I'm running 30-40 fps without much of a problem. It's a real pain in defense missions where these abilities are usually pretty vital to high level play. I usually run windowed 720, and I have tried running with all my graphics on the lowest settings (all the checkboxes unchecked, shadow quality and texture memory both set to low), but it doesn't make much of a difference. Any advice? Is my machine just too underpowered for me to run defense missions, or is there a setting or something that I'm missing?

    I'm running an AMD A8-3870 (3.0GHz x4) with 8GB RAM and an AMD HD7770.

    So, it looks like you've got your brightness cranked up, which is what makes the black look grey. If you want it to be black, then you'll have to turn it back down. If you have trouble seeing in dark places... then, I guess that's the problem with wearing black in the dark. :P

    Volt with all black in different lights. These were taken with 50% (default) brightness, but the more you turn up the brightness, the more noticeable it'll be. And honestly, it's just there to make the graphics more lifelike... Because if you were wearing this IRL (I say that as though you could get an IRL warframe), you'd notice changes in the color of the light in the reflections on that way more.

    Man up.

    I'm a lot more inclined to agree with the general direction that this post was going. I'd rather have the devs fixing bugs that affect gameplay or working on new content, rather than tweaking how the color packs are applied to Volt's pants. ^_^

     

  11. IIRC, I was able to get mine straight black by messing with the color settings. The color correction was one setting that had a major effect, and I believe the other is dynamic lighting. I'll play with it and take a screenshot when I get home here in a little while.

    Honestly though, IRL black is a color that has the tendancy to absorb and reflect the colors around it. It's not that noticeable with a "flat" black with no specular on the material, but with the texture of the material (Obviously DE made these frames shiny), it's going to tint the spec whatever the color of the light around it is, especially with higher graphics settings where the lighting and materials are more detailed and "lifelike". I'll try to get a few screencaps from missions where the lighting is different to give examples. It's a pretty big difference between different areas.

    TLDR - It's likely not a problem with the colors that are applied from the color pack, but rather the underlying material that DE put on the frame itself.

  12. I was wondering if it's possible to connect via an IRC client to just hang out in the chat? The only real reason I'm wanting to, is that I can connect via IRC in places, and even on my home computers I can pull it up while doing other things.

  13. The reload also stops when you do the roll animation. It is not a bug in the way I see, because let's be fair, how the heck are you suppose to reload a dual viper while you catch a glaive? i don't and can't see any logical way to that happen xD

    TL:DR for the previous posts - the reload completes and restarts before the catch ever happens.

  14. Hello everyone!
    Formally casual FPS player here. Just wanted to drop a quick suggestion in the box - can we have an option (even something unlockable, like after you've completed all of the missions or something) to toggle or temporarily disable the crosshair or UI?

     

    Roughly a week or two ago I glitched out and couldn't see any of my UI, including my crosshair. It kind of freaked me out at first, but I adapted to it, and it eventually just made me wish that this was intentional - for training purposes. I remember how much I improved in Halo (forever ago) thanks to 'blind mode' where the UI was disabled. I guess because it forced me to aim with the whole screen, rather than slowly developing tunnel vision around the crosshair.

     

    Anyway, I'd very much like to see this or other difficulty-increasing features aside from 'Take your mods off' or 'Use an unranked frame'.

  15. I've noticed this happening a lot, and have started getting in the habit of keeping a close eye on my ammo before letting my glaive fly. It seems intermittent sometimes - Occasionally I'm able to throw it, reload, catch, and then shoot. At it's worst, I'll throw it, start manually reloading, run away (to increase the time before the catch), automatically reloading a second time, get interrupted by the catch, and then reload again. I can try to get some video of it acting differently if it'll help.

    If this happens to you, it's best to picture the multple reloads almost as a comic couple of smacks/strikes to the gun. "Omg, reload jeez... *SMACK!* There we go... PEW PEW!"

    Sorry about that... I realized when I was editing that I got the pronunciation wrong. =/

  17. Just throwing this out there - an 'operative' flag that the warlord can give to a certain number of clanmates at a time? Anyone without op status can get kills but it won't contribute to clan kills. Maybe 10 or 20 players, that way the hardcore players can go ham for the duration of the event, and the warlord can rotate the casuals/newbs in and out as needed? Or if it's a large clan with lots of hardcore players, they can rotate in and out as players sign on/off.

    OH, OR MAYBE DIFFERENT TIERS OF CLANS TO PROGRESS THROUGH! That'd be a good way of separating out the casual clans from the hardcore clans on the leaderboards. All tiers earn a reward, but maybe the highest tier gets the best rewards at top ranks or 'Gold' rank or whatever, vs a slightly-less-awesome reward for the 'Silver' ranked clans? Higher rankings allow more 'Operative' slots? Just throwing ideas out there.

    I mean... Functionally, aside from farming, there's currently not much more of a point to a large clan vs a smaller clan that communicates well (unless you take into account the clan kills from this weekend's event... but they've already said they're working on it). This would encourage clans to fill up X number of slots, and would hopefully encourage clans to grow with their clan's "prestige" rather than spamming clan invites, y'know?

    I played as....NYX and LOKI....I am good with guns.

     

    I mostly played a mix of single player capture missions with LOKI, getting about 7-8 Fusion Moas per run rusher style thats why solo.

     

    Alternatively I played with PUGS on Endless Defence as Nyx, and dominated with my LATO Prime and AFuris. Mostly the big defence map with the 3 possible capsule locations, instead of the smaller close quarters maps.

     

    The smaller maps are totallly Banshee friendly as I watched 1 with max range mods equiped pretty much wipe everything in sight from the center of the map.

    TIme wise you consider if I can get 7-8 Fusion Moa kills in 10 minutes doing solo Capture Missions, it would be more effecient than having to wait until wave 5+ and fight for Fusion Moa kills with a group on endless Defence...so I did that, the large numbers of Fusion Moas really do not appear until after wave 15 anyways and that could be a good 20-25 minutes into a match unless you are playing as a Clan communicating a Banshee group on a small close quarters map.
