  1. I like the Liches.  They prey upon one of the strongest features of the game, that often loses its shine over time - The Stalker.

Remember early on, how weirdly exciting it was when this guy just showed up to hunt you down?

As you played on and understood him more, that excitement wore out a bit, especially during that period you were trying to collect all of his weapons and the RNG was being uncooperative.

But those Liches, they're like a refined, optional Stalker system.  They boost the lore of the Grineer and the Queens, too.  They carry weapons worth pursuing.  They're procedurally generated.  They include the helmet of the Warframe that killed them in their design.

There are a lot of great ideas hung onto these Liches and they - even if just for now - remind me of the tension of being targeted.

  2. Conclave is some poorly balanced, janky-feeling PVP without dedicated servers.

Warframe is entirely too agile a game for PVP with sketchy connectivity and a time-to-kill that's too low.

Also, all the Conclave mods blow pretty hard.  They're all just "make this thing a lot worse to make this other thing a smidge better" to such a degree that it'd just be better if Conclave had no mods at all.

  3. I've been of the opinion that we've needed new Zaw and Kitgun parts sorely since the release of Fortuna/Orb Vallis.

This is largely predicated on my not particularly warranted expectation that Fortuna would expand on Zaws.  I figured Fortuna would have Corpus-themed bits that we could use on Zaws, but it still seems like it would have been such a good idea that DE should totally do it.  Little Duck did eventually show up with new charms for our charm bracelets, you know.  Then, put some Grineer Kitgun scraps in Cetus from some scavenger's stall, we take 'em to Zuud and snap 'em together.

Plus, it sure seems like we could get another open world area in the future, especially if we consider DE hasn't implemented modular Primary weapons.  If we could get different chunks of different modular weapons from all of the different locales, that just makes so much sense and would be great.

  4. I don't think Rivens were a mistake, and frankly I'm glad that there are these weirdo platinum hoarders draining platinum from the economy with nothing to spend it on.

Their Riven collections and trading amount to art dealership.  They trade in dubiously valuable things that barely anybody else sees, gaining a useless prestige within their cohort.

The only real shame of it all is that there are only so many Rivens a single player can use, and even fewer that a single player can use in a single loadout.  I imagine a majority of these exceptional Rivens barely exist in any qualitative sense, only showing up as blips on some dealer's pitches in the Trade channel and collecting dust.

  5. Like... I don't think 5,000 Mutagen Samples is too high, for a clan.  I'm sitting on 1,620 through no exceptional effort.  Just me.

That said, the Hema really needs to be revisited because it's a really neat gun with a really neat design, but it's spectacularly underwhelming, and its material and research costs compounds all of it.

  6. I picked up Nyx again for a Lich Hunt (wanted that Radiation damage and a shot at the Ephemera) and she's still fun, but could use some love.

Mostly I would like it if she had more heads.  She doesn't have many good ones and a lot of the newer heads have this gradient blending thing going on that just looks bad every time it's used.

Anyway, yeah.  More Nyx love would be rad.  Frankly I think we should be able to plug an Umbra Forma into her and have her go autonomous like Excalibur Umbra.

  7. I've always thought Relics should be a currency themselves, too.  We should be able to trade them to somebody.  We should be able to get things for them, like Orbiter decorations, Sugatra dangles, shoulder armor bits that look like old Orokin Keys and Relic bits, etc.

I also think we should be able to spend Relics on circumventing the RNG when we're having a bad day.  I've been having a ridiculous time just getting the Dethcube Prime Blueprint, for instance.  I think there should be a system where I can spend like 20 Relics from the same Tier and just pick my damned prize at this point.

  8. They don't even need to fix much of it, they just need to cash everyone out when a migration happens first, then try to reassemble the match, so nobody gets stiffed if the migration fails.

Failed migrations feel bad and they make the game and DE look bad.  Six years in and this is still a surefire way to kill a night playing Warframe.

Hell, I'd have the Braton and Lato Vandals by now if it weren't for Host Migrations.  Onslaught is filthy with the problem.

  9. I'm a dude that likes Archwing, but here's what I think could be improved:

    1) Archwing is super bumpy.  On foot, Warframes are super agile and graceful, latching onto walls and tumbling with ease.  None of that transitions to Archwing play.  Ideally, Archwing play would have some sort of reactive system for types of collisions.  A Warframe should just kick off of glancing collisions to recenter in corridors.  As is, it's entirely too easy to just bump around like a doofus, and that has more to do with humans interfacing the game through pieces of plastic than it relates to how these superfuture Warframes would actually handle.

    2) Archwing has very few environments.  We mostly have a procedural Corpus ship, I think some wrecked Corpus ship, a Grineer asteroid field, and these few boss encounters like Jordas and the Fomorian raid.  We have some Neptune tiles with useless aquatic peripheral areas.  We never did see much Archwing integration with regular gameplay, like popping out an airlock to transfer ship to ship, et cetera.

    3) Archwing crumples too easily to ubiquitous anti-air weapons on the Plains of Eidolon and Orb Vallis.  It just takes one hit from these homing rockets, enemies have an unlimited supply of them, and entirely too many units are equipped with them.  It's not even a huge deal to be knocked out of the sky - it's just annoying.  We can hop right back in with a fresh Archwing beacon, so why knock us out of them so easily and often?  It would be better for these things to just do damage.

  10. It has always annoyed me that Eidolon Shards are so worthless.  Early on it added tedium to that grind, and today it just seems like unfriendly throttling of player progress.  It still disproportionately affects newer players, and the game really needs to be rather a lot friendlier to them.

We have a very generous daily Focus cap and that should be plenty to keep progression to a reasonable rate.  A Focus exchange for Eidolon Shards is extremely overdue.

Idk why a hunk of metal gotta have a gender tbh

I'm a long-time Transformers guy.  The popular consensus in the nerds newsgroups of the day was that gender for a Transformer was purely aesthetic.  The bulk of masculine-presenting Transformers was purely a matter of default and not much else.  Optimus Prime wasn't so much manly as he was a gruff, neutrally masculine build.  There's also a layer of learned behavior.  There are few feminine-presenting Transformers because the aesthetic or utility of gender was unimportant or they had been poorly exposed to representations of gender.

I've typed all of this thinking it was relevant for some reason, but I've had a few drinks and it's late and I've lost myself.  But yeah, it uh ... it shouldn't matter if the Warframe you dig is a buckaroo or a ladybuck.  It doesn't matter to Operators.
