I feel like this is probably the most competent at-issue presented in the thread thus far. I'm not quite sure why DE just dumped Caliban into the game without much adjustment. There are some rough edges for sure. I suppose there just aren't enough people playing/purchasing him to warrant any kind of alterations.

Hopefully he'll get a decent augment or two in the future. A decent augment will heavily sway public opinion, I wager.

I would enjoy an augment. It’s been far too long. As long as it’s an augment that can actually change his play style, or at least alter it in a way that isn’t just a “band-aid” (I’m looking at you energy transfer) I’m down for it.

So hating on Caliban is basically a meme at this point; but I wonder why?

    Aesthetically he looks pretty cool.

    His passive isn't terrible

His 1 sucks for sure, but his 2, 3 and 4 are all quite good.

I just don't get it... full shield+armor strip with a set-it and forget-it denial ability is really useful. The shield generation from his 3 is very useful (and going to be even better with the Dagath update), and his 2 is really solid CC.

I'm not saying he is the best frame, but he definitely isn't a bad frame. Am I missing something here? Is the hate on him justified? Personally I don't think it is.

I personally don’t like him because of how he’s a summoner

His abilities are good IN CONCEPT, but they are poorly executed

His one is basically Revenant’s fourth, but without the disco fingers. WHERE’S THE DISCO FINGERS

His two makes enemies take amplified damage with CC, but they just keep floating away. They don’t just hover in place, they just float aimlessly. Not that annoying with a small amount of range, but with overextended or something like that, you can lose track of them.
His three is my favorite ability, but it’s just SOOO EXPENSIVE. Positive efficiency is kind of needed with his small energy pool. Three conculysts? Amazing! You have to summon every single one of them… oh.
I don’t remember his fourth, I found it quite good except for the fact that the armor strip didn’t seem permanent (need clarification). And his passive? Quite good ngl, except for the fact that it has so much limitations. Why does it not stack with adaptation? BARUUK EXISTS. More damage reduction is fine, and makes sense for the adaptable sentient warframe.
He really just needs a few tweaks: his passive shouldn’t have as much limitations as it does, his first ability should be more than helminth option, his second ability should make enemies actually count as lifted, and stay in place (much like Yareli’s one). His third… ngl I think it’s fine (for now) I’d say a press and hold to summon all three, for the price of three? No comment on his fourth

All in all he has great potential, but DE never payed much attention to him.

I can't tell you how tired I get of explaining Atlas for example, who literally has two completely worthless abilities, but because Landslide and Petrify are decent, everything else is.

Uh, no, no they're not. Bulwark is singlehandedly the worst defense ability in the game and should be gutted entirely in a Rework or replaced. Rumblers are also fairly useless and require an Augment just to do something as basic as guaranteed aggro draw while they have no damage and an annoying duration limit. Rubble is a great Passive, but the drain is quite egregious and forces nigh constant casting on a 75 or 100 Energy ability, which is just obtuse and needs to be addressed. The Rumbled Augment is only worth using for the Overguard, but it does a bunch of weird things like movement penalties and it's atrocious melee only schtick that needs some kind of leeway to make it useful. Path of Statues could really use an Oberon 4 Augment treatment wherein the stuff left behind becomes a larger and more visible AoE. Like come on, he has so many problems.

Other Warframes should definitely be addressed first, but come on, you can't sit there and tell me you see your Rumblers put in work if you actually pay attention to what they're doing.

    ^This

It’s so odd how Hydorid is constantly brought up for reworks but then you got Atlas….

Props for Hydroid rework, but when are they going to give the rock hard warframe a chance?

I really dislike the "the decaying key was meant to be a downside" argument for a number of reason. Now dont get me wrong I think the upcoming changes look really good especially for normal everyday content that most people will be playing, but shields did not need to be buffed nowhere near as much as health and armor needed to be buffed however what we are getting is only shield changes. Everyone focused too much on the key being a benefit rather than a downside instead of why it was a benefit and why the alternatives couldnt compete with it for high lvl content. Why didnt people mod for extra health and/or armor for high lvl content and choose to shield gate instead? Health tanking works in low lvl content just fine in fact far better than shield gating with the key but once enemy lvls get to a certain point you can no longer health tank as you will be one hit and are thus forced to use full on invulnerability just to stand a chance. But instead of addressing the problem with enemy damage being way to high and health and armor just falling off entirely people focus on how shield gating being the only viable form of survival and wan to bring it down rather than bring the other methods up. And because of all the key drama what we are getting changes to how shield gating works but shield gating will still be the only viable method of survival besides other full invulnerability methods while health and armor will still be useless and hell even modding for higher shields will still probably be kinda pointless as shields will still get one hit making it near impossible to gain the benefit of having a longer shield gate unless you can instantly regen all your shield which in that case you probably wont need that extra time to begin with.

Another reason why I dislike the augment is because of nova, if the reason the key is bad and needs changes is because its supposed to be a downside than speedva and other builds that utilize negative stats should also be treated the same.

Nova was more of a fun gimmick, speedva isn’t needed, she just makes things easier. Her build also took up mod slots, unlike decaying dragon key. Speedva also has downsides, no hard CC. Decaying Dragon Key had no downsides, didn’t use up any mods to really count as a part of the “build,” and was used as a crutch by quite a lot of players. Them replacing it with a mod really doesn’t change anything aside from one mod slot dedicated to that one type of build.

    Try another game

You know I never really understood that statement

”Try another game,” “If you don’t like it, play another game”

Warframe seems to be a game where you can pick and choose what you want to do

For example, I personally hate Duviri because of the random load out, but others love it. Just because I hate Duviri, do I just play another game? No, I just play a railjack (which I love).
Really the only time I can see people say “This game isn’t for you,” is when some person complains about farming (not even the absurd farming, just farming in general). Even then though, you can have fun without farming.

To sell perhaps. But is there any reason you want one? You probably have focus spilling out of your ears already, right?

That is true… practically spilling focus with Zenurik and Vazarin. Though it can help with other focus schools.

Could have a decent chunk of focus for aya, weekly Kuva, credits/relic packs

Farm focus to farm more focus? This also doesn't really help focus being worthless. More of it has no value at all.

Really just adds variety, I would gladly take focus lens blueprints that are guaranteed over farming lua disruption/bounties for a chance of one.

That gets us back to square one. You spend a little to buy the thing, then you still have a worthless currency. It needs to be evergreen. A lot of content in this game is sorely missing valuable evergreen rewards actually, so you get what you need from it and never do it again.

That is true, if we’re talking about the long term…

What about focus lens? Just Focus Lens blueprints ranging from normal-Lua

They could be expensive (price of normal can be cheaper than lua and whatnot), much like what we have now, but that’s not a problem considering how easy it is to get focus

Plus focus lens=more focus and the fact that the BLUEPRINTS can be used with any lens, you could use one focus school to get lens for another.

  9. We could get things like a focus school glyph, sigil, etc.

    Though I wouldn’t mind decorations

Maybe an ephemera that would act like Baro’s ephemera, just particles with the focus school symbol floating
