  1. If anyone is still wondering what is happening with this group, I will hopefully be posting a bigger update in the next couple of days after I get over a sickness I have. It will explain a variety of things as well as most importantly the fact that we are not going to have another round of applications. You can still come and visit and chat if you just want to talk to people but there will be no further opportunities to join canon RP.

EDIT: It is done. Read here:

  2. Now this is a delicate topic now that DE and the community has been kind of screwed by the DC with the selection of the new warframe's theme. The reason they didn't incorporate the DC is probably because of that. They didn't want more community backlash. This is all due to the issue of there still being people on the Design council who are lowkey trolling with it since they haven't played in forever, as Tactical Potato has discussed. They realistically need to rehaul the DC before they use it further. My heart definitely goes out to DC members who are still sincere in their intentions though.

Last Friday @Disruptis announced a survey (now closed) on "universal vacuum."

My best guess is it means the thing other games call "autoloot" or "AOE loot." It's confusing though, because we already have that. So I infer "universal" means moving it from companions to the player character? Possibly as a mod?

If so, how would that be better?

The concept of Universal Vacuum means that the 13.5m vacuum range is present on your warframe rather than your Companions. DE has addressed most of this issue by giving all companions vacuum now, but there still exists some issues. If your companion died, as @MobyTheDuck stated, you will lose vacuum for the rest of the mission unless you kill yourself and revive. This means you either bring a pet with a very specific build or you keep reviving it every minute when it goes down in missions with high level enemies (like later portions of Scarlet Spear). If you bring a Sentinel that's not Carrier or Djinn, they will die so fast you won't be able to move your eyeballs from their health bar in the HUD, down to your cross-hair, and back again before it's over. This is the main issue people have about it nowadays.

  4. Warframe content creator Quite Shallow or "Shy" uploaded a video today where other popular Warframe content creators had the opportunity of interviewing [DE] Scott. One of the things that was brought up in discussion was Universal Vacuum. Scott commented that "the conversation about Universal Vacuum [he hadn't] personally heard in probably six months or more", so it "hasn't been on [his] mind at all". As someone who still passionately advocates for Universal Vacuum, I wanted to bring back it's discussion so DE can see that we haven't forgot about it. We've just stopped talking because it's been so long of it not being addressed.

That is, if you are still interested in it too.

To demonstrate this, I've created a very short poll using the DEApproved™ polling website Google Forms. Please, if you still care about this feature being in the game, take a second to fill it out and share it. Show DE that we are still here. IF YOU DON'T WANT UV, or you're fairly impartial, there's a section of the form for you to fill out on the form as well. Let's get all the feedback we can.

    https://forms.gle/Qgp5bVBSBp3Fawqq9

You don't need to sign in, your address is not recorded if you do, anyone can edit their own responses, and anyone can view the results of the poll.

EDIT: The voting activity has peaked for about 24 hours now. Thank you all so much for your time. In order to preserve the authenticity of the survey as a snapshot in time, I have closed responses. You may still view the results of the poll at anytime. Here's the spreadsheet with all the votes.

  5. The reason it's so centered on victory payout is because of DE is trying to inflate the game with the vision of having warframe be a very teamwork-orientated mission. The only problem is that since there is a cap on victory payout, there's no reason for people to not dip after hitting it. It's just so inefficient to not do so. They want the cap in order to let people who don't get as much time to play as others to still cash in big, while limiting the amount the people with excess amounts of time on their hands get to not overinflate the system. DE wants to get the best of all worlds with this event, and to their credit they almost have it.

IMO the way to fix this is to only start a flotilla's timer when it gets its first murex driven away. The main problem always comes from needing to join a practically fresh flotilla because it's the only one you can with 45 mins left on the wave clock. That would solve almost all of these scenarios.

  6. I've played enough Scarlet Spear at this point to feel like I can share feedback now, although I'll spare you the details.

The rewards in my opinion, are balanced, but only to an extent. Victory payout is required to gain rewards worth the hours you put in grinding, but achieving victory is difficult because of anti-cooperative mechanics. The idea that you can't aggregate your ground and space squad score makes it so if there are too many ground teams running, that's just it. You lose. No one wants to transfer over to space, and if they do they are not getting a payout worth the sheer amount of grind they put in. That and the cap. I get that it's a form of time-gating, but if we have to run missions over the capped amount just to make sure our flotilla actually drives all Murex away, our time is no longer being valued enough. I'd rather stop wasting my time with Scarlet Spear and go join some arbitrations or something. I'm not saying you have to get rid of a time-gating mechanic, but please at least find a way to solve the underlying issue.

Not getting victory payout is also an issue that arises with people who have only certain windows of playtime. They log in with 1 hour to play, see that 1 hour is left on the Murex, and can't find any flotilla to join that is completed enough to get their payout. The entire idea of victory payout is a cool idea and I get the teamwork effort is something valued in warframe, and it genuinely feels good a lot of the time, but the rewards aren't consistent enough to be sacrificed at this point. DE needs to value our time first, the paying consumer's time, before they push so hard in worrying about their own visions.

I'm running a custom scale factor of 135% for Windows. Usually I have to check the DPI override on games or else they function weird, although I override application settings rather than system. The launcher looks very stretched and pixelated at first, but if I check the override DPI settings, it gives me these scroll bars! What is up!?

With the latest mainline, this has fixed itself. I just override application high DPI scaling and it works fine.

  9. I've found this to be a bug for the longest time. In order to spawn a kuva larvling, you have to kill at least 10 enemies in under 1 minute. The only problem is that I have tested this with a bunch of missions in solo and no lich will spawn after a yellow flicker even if I kill 35 enemies in 45 seconds.

    unknown.png

This is a pic of me on solo Selkie. Flicker starts 30s in and I kill 28 enemies in 40 seconds. Nothing happens. I went through the planets and tested very thoroughly, and can confirm the same is true for the following nodes:

    Sedna:
    - Selkie
    - Charybdis
    - Berehynia
    - Hydron
    - Marid

    Saturn:
    - Rhea
    - Telesto
    - Titan
    - Helene

    Uranus:
    - Umbriel (yes, the flicker happens here because it is a "normal" mission, spawning a lich here would be cool af)

What is the similarity between all of these nodes? Well, I consistently found that all Interception, Survival, Hijack, Mobile Defense, and Defense nodes will not actually spawn liches after the yellow flicker. As far as I can tell, all Sabotage, Disruption, Rescue, Capture, Spy, Assassination (Tethys), and Extermination nodes work just fine.

An interesting note is that if you kill all the required enemies for the larvling to spawn on Tethys, but you are too close to Sargus Ruk's room, it will fail to spawn as well.

DE this is prone to cause a lot of frustration, and I want my lich from Uranus pls so pls fix.

It’s what I already do solo.  In PuG’s though it’s basically whoever gets there ASAP repairs it whether I’m standing and waiting or not.

Everyone is aware of the invuln state, day one we abused it to veil lul. I advised them to chop seconds off for every hit after cata hits.

Glad to know a lot of us are in the same boat.

This strat is only good for beginner railjacks.

Later on your battle avionics (which are also much more common now) will deal the majority of the damage.

You can't use battle avionics while a catastrophic failrue is going on, so check if your ship has the right stuff before you decide which strategy to use.

Once you get 6k hp and a shield that has <2 second regen you basically can't die in the veil. As long as you don't park next to three crewships the damage enemies do just isn't all that impressive.

Just make sure you let the crew know you're using last stand.  I believe there's a reactor bonus that doubles the invulnerable timer as well.

this was the technique me and my clan used on our Leader's railjack. then we got the Zetki Bulkhead to drop, and a decent shield array. now we can usually do a veil run without going below 50% health, even if gunners aren't on-point. it really does make a difference. last Stand buffing plus Warframe abilities like Rhino Roar make things a lot easier without an endgame-level railjack.

of course, that's going to change, as it's not intended to work off of Warframe powers, and I imagine Avionics will start getting looked at as well.

Good to know, thanks for the heads-up guys.

  11. I don't really see this being talked of at all, and I don't see a lot of people playing that are aware of this, so I'm not sure if it is entirely sound or not. I want to know what you all think.

As an engineer specialist, I've found that the most resource efficient way to keep your railjack alive in the midst of heavy battle is not repairing anything until last minute. Let me explain. When a railjack drops below 100 health, it goes into catastrophic failure and starts a timer of 1 minute. After the timer ends, it blows up and your squad fails the mission. However during this failure, you are effectively, invulnerable. If you repair the failure at the last second, you'll get maybe 2 seconds of invulnerability in which your ship can regen, but if you repair it immediately, you only get about 10. One could argue that repairing it immediately is better for several reasons, but I've found something interesting to refute that theory.

Some of you may be aware that during a cata failure, if you repair any other failure (say, a hull breach or an electrical hazard), you gain a little bit of health and/or shields back, but the cata failure continues. If you lose the small amount of HP you got back, it resets the catastrophic failure timer to 1 minute. This is probably unintended, but it gives way to amazing possibilities.

As an engineer, instead of repairing everything immediately once we hit cata failure, I wait. Once the failure timer hits 25 seconds, I repair a hull breach or other failure, and if we are in the middle of intense combat we will near-instantly lose that health and refresh our timer. This means we are effectively invulnerable for a long period of time, with procing Last Stand all the while, for barely any revolite compared to repairing the much more costly cata failures all the time. I've gotten up to 4 minutes of total invulnerability for practically no extra cost before.

I'm only certain that this strat is effective if you find yourself in a situation where there are too many enemy fighters surrounding you that send you right back into cata failure only a couple seconds after the repair invincibility wears off, though. You have to dedicate manpower to waiting by the failures, so you lose time they could be spending on the guns, although they can still repel boarding parties. If you are in this situation and are low on resources, however, it will save your life more times than you'd expect.

  12. While playing Elite Sanctuary Onslaught, I was on the second round waiting in a corner for the timer to run out so I could extract, and suddenly another player and I started falling through the map with our faces in a wall. A couple seconds of fast falling and suddenly we get teleported on top of the portal and forced into the next round.

There seemed to be invisible walls everywhere, limiting my movement. It's hard to see their effects in the video but I was stuck in the general area of where I was positioned. An invisible floor let my enemies and I float in the air as well, but I didn't manage to get footage of that.

One of the weirdest things that happened as shown in the video, however, is that when looking at the tileset from certain angles, it would change into an orokin one.

I have no idea how to replicate this bug but I'll keep what I've discovered here for the future if it really becomes a problem.

Because I really wanted to hear it done, here's a heavily hacked version of the Calamari Inkantation from Splatoon. DE pls give us an octave increase/decrease button and make vibrato both code-able and not sound like trash. Visit the video if you want the code, it's in the description.

  14. Mission: Exta, Ceres

I've seen a lot of talk about this subject and just wanted to give my findings on the matter. The issue is that Lech Kril's tube registers as hit, but he never uses the self-freezing slam move. In fact, when he performs the slam-attack it clearly does not freeze him. I believe this has something to do with the continuous damage of my ignis triggering some unforeseen event interaction between invulnerability states. It might even be linked to my pure gas build creating clouds that damage the tubes when they shouldn't be vulnerable. In the video I use molecular prime to speed up animations, but I guarantee that the bug can be replicated without it.

Please look into this DE, it has quite a high likelihood of triggering.

Slight warning: The video really chugs in performance and quality.

Hi, I just started on PS4 and would also like to know when you're next taking applications.

Is there an ideal point in the game we should have reached before joining a clan or getting involved in RP?

I think it would be cool to be walked through a dojo by a superior and shown around while in-character, before being assigned tasks, etc. But I really don't know the norm/etiquette yet, so would first like to get involved with the community.

Hi B-Genius, sorry for the late response.

We're still in the process of getting things ready for the next application rotation, so we haven't quite decided on a date yet. As for the story, we use everything from the warframe universe in our RP, so if you haven't done all the quests already you will get spoiled. We do need our members to at least have seen what goes on all the way up to the Chimera Prologue. Additionally, don't worry about being reserved. Just find a clan and join it. There's nothing like specific tasks you will be assigned because everything is usually done already. Last but not least, don't be afraid to get help from people in-game. This is a pretty good community who loves to help newcomers.

  16. unknown.png

According to the official drop tables published by DE, an Archwing Interception should give 150 endo at least on rotation A. However, that's not happening.

    unknown.png

As we see here, not only is the text in the top left for void fissures, but I only received 50 endo. But, as we've seen, that should be something only offered on rotation B. Does that mean that the entire drop table is also borked? Please DE check into this, we want our Dual Rounds.

  17. As someone who's been playing Warframe ever since we were still running around with stamina bars, I'd like to take some time to show my appreciation for one of my favourite additions to the game.

    Archwing.

    unknown.png

Even though it's something that's very often the subject of hate from the community, I personally enjoy the hell out of it. I love the thrill of desperately blasting through space to avoid projectiles that comes from the sheer amount of freedom of movement Archwing offers (non-experimental flight btw). I love the melee system which makes you feel like an absolute god just by positioning yourself and pressing E. I love sniping something with gigantic dual pistols from 1km across the map to prevent it from taking a control point. I love the ability to completely bombard everything in your surrounding area, or to blink across the map in the space of a second and shove my Prisma Veritux in the face of an unfortunate helion. I don't mind the occasional random one-shotting, the fast enemies, or the difficulty of seeing enemies from far away. Hell, I like them! I think they scale the technical difficulty up to a place where the gameplay is harder but far more fun and engaging. I like playing archwing more than I like playing most of the base game.

There's just... not much there to play.

Or much of a reason to play it. I would love to see Archwing get more meaningful content, and I'm extremely excited at the prospect of Railjack delving into that. I only hope that it does delve more into that, and that the flames from some of the more hateful in the community don't scare them off. Maybe then we'd get more cool prime archwings and archwing weapons, because as it stands, we literally only have one! That and an end-gamey archwing mission like Arbitration would be very nice, but I would settle for at least one endless tile that starts at level 45. Or one in the Void. 0.0

Anyway, that's all I wanted to say. I hope that if anybody at DE reads this they can feel encouraged by it, as they worked real hard on it. Thank you, and best of luck to you all!

  18. I'm not completely sure if this is intended or not, but when anyone rift-bound stands inside a toxic pool on ceres, they are afflicted with the toxic status proc. Considering this doesn't happen for some other environmental hazards "e.g. fire pits and ice chunks" I'm pretty sure this is a bug. It's been happening for as long as I can remember.
