  1. Valkyr x Valkyr. As the result of a hypothetical situation that goes somewhat like this:

    1. Tenno, for reasons no one quite understands, decide to utilize Grineer cloning tech for themselves.

    2. Valkyr is one of the first to be cloned, because the prospect of having twice as many greedy boxheads die by angry clawings is too attractive to pass up.

    3. Valkyr meets clone!Valkyr, and together they fight crime purge many weird talking box-enthusiasts from the mortal coil. They become close friends.

    4. They realize how many common interests they have (because, you know, clone), those interests eventually manifest into strong feelings.

    5. They do things that would make Hydroid curl up in the fetal position.

No, I was not drunk or high when I wrote this, would have made it a hell of a lot easier to explain though.

  2. Valkyr has foot claws, FOOT CLAWS. Screw practicality, I can't think of anything footwear-related cooler than foot claws. Though the fact she has claws on her feet, as well as heels, means Valkyr probably wins the award for "most impractical footwear in the origin system".

  3. >I was only mastery rank 8

    >I loved Valkyr so much, I had all her cosmetics and profile pictures

    >I pray to Valkyr Prime every night before bed, thanking her for the life I've been given

    >"Valkyr Prime is love" I say; "Valkyr Prime is life"

    >The Lotus hears me and calls me Tenno skoom

    >I know she was just jealous of my devotion for Valkyr Prime

    >I called her a eyeless slag

    >He slaps me and sends me to go to my liset

    >I'm crying now, and my helmet hurts

    >I lay in my cryopod and it's really cold

    >Suddenly, a warmth is moving towards me

    >It's Valkyr Prime

    >I am so happy

    >She whispers into my ear "RAWR!!!"

    >She grabs me with her powerful Tenno hands and puts me down onto my hands and knees

    >I'm ready

    >I spread mod collection for Valkyr Prime

    >She penetrates my Warframe mod stockpile

    >It hurts so much but I do it for Valkyr Prime

    >I can feel my completionist status tearing as my eyes start to water

    >I push more mods against her frame

    >I want to please Valkyr Prime

    >She screams in a mighty war cry as he fills my Warframes-used percentage with her love

    >The Lotus walks in

    >Valkyr Prime looks her straight in the eye-hole and says "RAWR!!!"

    >Valkyr Prime leaves through the pause menu

    >Valkyr Prime is love. Valkyr Prime is life.

I felt that a forum post that was, well, normal... wouldn't be able to properly encapsulate how much love I would have for Valkyr Prime. I would go through a thousand grind walls, take up a life of crime to pay for prime access, or both, just for that Prime booty.

Being a normal person is overrated anyway :P

  4. Does it have to be any of the established factions in-game? Because I think Valkyr having her own faction would be kick-&#!, one I would definitely throw myself into so I could be her submissive slave loyal soldier. She'd probably only send me on missions that involve exterminating Corpus scum, but that's okay, because I like exterminating Corpus scum.

The only problem though is that her being the guide in missions could be a bit repetitive as she might have less variety in lines compared to the Lotus:

    Exterminate:

Lotus: There is a large platoon of Grineer Marines stationed here. Leave no one standing.

    Valkyr: RAWR!!!

    Heavy Unit Incoming:

Lotus: Stay focused, there's a Heavy Unit approaching.

    Valkyr: RAWR!!!

    Assassination:

Lotus: There is the assassination target, you know what to do.

    Valkyr: RAWR!!!

But I think that would be a small price to pay to make the rightful queen of Warframe, the true master race, and the Goddess of cuteness, happy. Seriously, she needs her own church for weird people like me.

  5. Eh, I think the current one is a bit better, emphasis on "bit". Why hasn't the awkward turning been fixed yet, I mean honestly that's been a known issue SINCE U14's RELEASE. Though it still isn't as bad as the floaty punches that did crap damage in U13 (though Hysteria claws could apparently deal massive damage, way more than now, prior to U13).

  6. Valkyr.

Think about it, if she wants to kill someone, they're pretty much dead. Running away is pointless because she can rip-line a person from the other side of a football field, can slow them down to the point where they are emulating Baywatch, or can flat-out paralyse them. Other than the fact that she can literally kill people with her voice, she also CANNOT DIE.

She might not be able to nuke places like other frames, but her enemies stand zero chance of killing her. She can just carve a bloody path to WHOEVER she wants, tearing apart everyone between her and her target, and there is absolutely nothing they can do about it, hell she could exterminate entire races this way.

Some people might think this is even worse, because her enemy's death won't come quickly, one by one she'll brutally rip her foes apart, while their friends just watch and shoot her in a futile attempt to cause harm, knowing that they'll be the next to experience a grizzly, cruel death. And if you are who she's looking for, you have to deal with the fact that a ungodly furious, invincible killer has killed entire armies with her BARE HANDS, and is coming for YOU.

If you piss Valkyr off, you might as well get started on your will.

  7. For melee to be as fun, visceral, engaging, complex and effective as in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, or really just way better than the outclassed, one-button-only, blocking-is-useless, higher-risk-than-reward thing it is now. Warframe would go from that thing I had a fling with that's waiting in my games library for me to call it back, to something I'd play the crap out of.

But deep down in my heart I feel like such a thing probably won't happen, and now I'm sad :(

  8. Valkyr has 600 armor which is far more useful than stamina. As someone who has used her for 66% of my total playtime, I can honestly say that you should seriously give her a shot if you want to use melee. Here's a few reasons why:

    Stats:

    50 Shields

    100 Health

    600 Armor

    150 Stamina

I'm not going to lie, her shields are horrible, but they are offset by her MASSIVE armor rating. With a maxed steel fiber she'll have over 1200 armor which means she'll have damage to her health reduced by 80%, if you need further proof of just how tanky this makes her, look at this graph:

    EH_compare.jpg

With maxed armor and health, Valkyr is by far the most durable frame, which she really needs to be as she usually takes the most damage in her intended role. Now keep in mind this is over 4-5 k effective health points that can be constantly regenerated with the life-strike mod. Her reliance on taking health damage means that the Rage mod is extremely useful as it gives her energy for taking health damage, and she'll be getting that health back through life-strike or her fourth ability.

150 stamina might look useful on paper, but it will be depleted by blocking or attacking in no time (though that's more of a flaw with the stamina system itself).

    Abilities:

    1. Rip-line: A useful mobility tool that can pull you to a location or pull an enemy to you. A very fun mobility ability that averts the usual problem of being overshadowed by other powers as it provides something unique to her kit. It has a pretty redundant augment though.

    2. War-cry: This is one of her most important abilities, and probably the most important if you don't want to rely on Hysteria. It speeds Valkyr's melee to ludicrous speeds, slows down the enemy (their movement, cover interaction, reloading, recovery, you name it) and buffs her already insane armor. If you want to ensure the enemies don't stand a chance, or you want combine it with Hysteria to make sure you will come out on top, you'll love this.

    3. Paralysis: I used to think this was useless, but after U15 made sure that abilities were no longer mods, it gave me the chance to try it out and see how good it really is. It stuns all enemies within a 10 meter radius of Valkyr and opens them up to a finisher. Said finisher makes Valkyr completely invincible during the animation, and deals a massive amount of armor ignoring damage (plus you can channel when you initiate it to restore health from life-strike FOR FREE).

    4. Hysteria: If you don't yet have the mods, weapons or forma to make Valkyr shine, you'll find this very useful. It makes Valkyr completely invincible and gives her access to energy claws (which restore health when damaging enemies) and unique combos. Great for ensuring your survival, but it has a few drawbacks. The claws are cumbersome to use with combos locking you in one direction and just acting weirdly on stairs (which I suspect to be aspects left over from Hysteria's previous iteration, which the devs have yet to fix), the default rage combo sucks but the other combos are fairly easy to execute consistently, claws only take into account puncture, impact and slash damage from your melee weapon and are only affected by pressure point and spoiled strike (meaning their damage falls off against high-level Grineer or Corrupted) and you are restricted to melee.

The fact that it hinders Valkyr's damage output and makes her more cumbersome to use means that it should be reserved for situations when you really need it (you're very low on health, an ally needs reviving, etc). If you become experienced with the rage + life-strike combo you might find yourself using this ability less and less (if at all).

    In conclusion:

Valkyr is a very fun frame and a very solid choice for melee if you take the time to shower her with love (and by love I mean Forma, good mods, and high-tier melee weapons). I strongly suggest getting her if you want to survive ungodly amounts of punishment, rip groups of enemies to pieces, and jump into the fray whenever possible, all without firing a shot.

It is for these reasons (and the fact I love melee) that she is my waifuframe :3

  9. I don't think there's any problem with people saying that don't like how Chroma looks. There is a problem with people bashing the devs and saying other bad things just because they don't like Chroma's looks, but that's more of a problem with the downside of feedback. It isn't a bad thing to not like Chroma's design, you can't force people to like any design that comes out. But it is a bad thing to be rude and not constructive when not liking Chroma's design.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that the way I see it, "I personally don't like how he looks" is fine, but "He indisputably looks like crap!/The devs are idiots for coming up with this!/This ruins Warframe!" isn't.
