  1. I was trying Secura Lecta with Reach and the numbers do not seem right.

    • With no Reach, S Lecta could hit from 6 meters at most.
    • A maxed Reach gave 1 more meter, for a range of 7 meters.
    • A maxed Primed Reach gave 5 more meters, for a range of 11 meters at most.

The numbers are not consistent with the range increase.

    • A Maxed Reach gives 16 % when it should give 65% more range; [1 meter / 6 meter = 0.16 * 100 = 16%]
    • A Maxed Primed Reach gives 83% when it should give 165% more range; [5 meter / 6 meter = 0.83 * 100 = 83%]

As you can see above, the Reach mod line does not give the advertised range increase, or even something close.

    • A maxed Reach should give 4 meter for a total of 10 meter; [6 * 1.65 = 9.9]
    • A maxed Primed Reach should give 10 meter for a total of 16 meter; [6 * 2,65 = 15.9]

I do not know if it is a bug or an oversight from how range works with melee, but it is problematic because it is either false advertising from the mods or they are not working right. Either way, an adjustment seems to be in order.

    Methodology for the numbers:

    1. Spawn an Ancient Healer in the Simulacrum.
    2. Immobilize with Zenurik's Void Pulse.
    3. Mark the Ancient with a waypoint for distance.
    4. Melee from beyond the Lecta's max range and gradually close the distance until the basic attack makes contact with the Ancient.
    5. Repeat until you get a consistent maximum range (IE 6, 7 and 11 meter).
    6. Make a post on the forums and hope it is addressed in lifetime.
  2. I don't really remember being promised anything or getting a sale pitch.

I remembered that I liked the concept of the game, I would watch the devstream and find that the devs were a likable bunch. I bought the Master pack because it sounded like a good deal, not because anyone made a heartfelt plea or something.

At the time, it wasn't much more different from buying some skins from Riot for League of Legends; I had no idea my support had been so critical. At least not until a couple of years in.

  3. I think it looks great. My only critic would be that it looks like an armor worn by the Lotus into combat (if she did that sort of things). I think it would be more distinctive to return to the roots of Tenno aesthetic (Vectis, Soma, Tigris, Warframes aesthetics) and then add back Lotus elements (Dex Dakra/furis/Sibaris, etc).

Again, it looks great; I'm just saying the first constructive thing that went through my head.

Don't most RPG's have a default name for their protag? Like Cloud Strife, John Shepard, or Yu Narukami?

Sure. It's just odd because we don't have a poster boy Tenno.

It's unusual since we made it this far without a default name and since it's the same as Mara Detron. Not unprecedented, mindblowing or anything, but still.

  5. I did a concept around the release of Invasions years ago. You can read the long version here if you please. I will however summarize it:

    Invasion 2.0; AKA Bunker Run.

Tenno have to fight through 3 or more layers of heavily defended tileset in the middle of heavily contested area in order to take side in Invasions. In additional to the regular crossfire AI VS AI modifier, invasions missions will receive three tiles with stationary defense systems to stop enemies. With the attacking faction stumped, Tenno will have to trudge through the best defense the defending faction can muster. Clearing three Bunkers will count for a complete invasion, with a possibility for a fourth Bunker; harder by far, it will increase the pay-off reward. Bunkers increases in intensity throughout the mission, and players have the option to extract early at the first or second Bunker if they are completely unable to progress, giving a fighting chance to new players.

  6. It's very amateurish but I have the summary for devstream 3 and 4. I thought I did more of them but can't find them:

    Devstream 3:

Anyway, the biggest thing to note is that update 8 is coming this friday, with a bunch of new stuff (a new melee weapon, a pistol that has been given it's akimbo version and I

think a new shotgun) along with a lot of new goodies for clans. My guts tells me no one here cares about clans tho.

Second biggest thing: they are working on implementing on a melee weapon called the Glaive. Yes, that Glaive. You'll be able to throw it at enemies too. Along with that, they announced some throwable items. That wasn't announced for update 8, but still cool to know that it exists.

They also mentioned that a new boss was being worked on as we speak, namely to replace "Golem", and even showed artwork (spoiler alert: it's an infested). All around, they said they didn't want to add more damage sponges but that bosses take some time to introduce properly with moves, lore, art etc etc.

The community in general raised problems with specific frames, and the devs responded that they're always looking to make frames feel better. So yes, they are working on making better (or tweaking) abilities for frames. They also raised the possibilities of new powers for frames, and more than 4 powers per frame. Oh, and yes, they are working on new frames, in fact one of the dev said he would get back to one right after the stream.

According to the devs, the Stalker doesn't exist. What's a Stalker anyway? We certainly won't get more info about him in time.

Devs said they were working on a new faction.

They said they were also preparing a bundle of laser weapons to be released all at once instead of one by one. Definitely getting new pets options along with new pets (Sentinels, whatever). There will also be new mods eventually, including one to help with crowd control (maybe not the door lasers because it would be too popular).

    Devstream 4:

The art part of the video can really be summed out to "we get a lot of inspiration, we look at stuff on the net from our fans, we're excited of doing Warframe after canning scyfy!Dark Sector, we're open to changing stuff". So really, mostly trivial information, like that at first the art director (Mynki) and co were very inspired by

Neon Genesis Evangelion and Metal Gear Solid before opening their horizons.

They gave a sneak peak of the current Warframe that is being modeled, which is stated to be a combat engineer. Fans of combat engineering can rejoice. A concept art can be seen around the 34:45 mark of the video I posted. I'm not particularly impressed by it so far, but considering the sketches of the other frames they showed, I think we can still expect something badass.

They talked about grenades too, if anyone is curious (I was curious myself): there won't be any, ever. The devs feels like it belongs to mods powers, so there won't be any kind of hand explosive available for all frames.

Update 8 is said to come out this friday, but I thought I understood it would be out last friday. I probably misunderstood, so I won't promise you that it is due this friday. However, it's supposedly this update that will deliver the Glaive. One thing is for sure, they are working on the Endgame of Warframe, which practically doesn't exist at this point. One of their vision was Clan's dojo, so that clans can have a physical place to show off their prestige, not much details beyond that. They were also talking about the pooling of resources like rubedos. Needless to say that update 8 is an ambitious update.

A third developper popped randomly and gave some random stats too: for example, did you know players as a whole were averaging 1 million missions per day? Or 1,6 million slash dashes per day? Also, it seems the game is more popular than they anticipated. That's a good thing, until their servers crash. Shouldn't happen now with their new super-hamsters ("hamsters" is a DE nickname for servers).

They talked about PVP (again): won't happen. The way they see it, there's already plenty of games out there that does PVP well, so they want to do something different for a change.

Gender swapping of frames is a touchy subject. Short answer: we don't know. Argument for it: customization. Argument against it: giving each frame a personality that is distinct. Best example would be Saryn that is described as a Femme Fatal. But then you get 3 Excaliburs together and the individuality kind of disappear. So yeah, dunno. To be noted, "dat Ash" jokes are already a thing.

That's pretty much it for the livestream I think. To be noted: apparently you can summon Steve (one of the dev) by shaking the Pink Shorts of Summoning. Food for thought.

Rebecca actually did a summary for the devstream number 5: See link.

Damn, looking back that was long ago.

Honestly I'm just happy to have finished this piece.

I call it "All life is sacred - but". The driving principle being that some Tenno might have more peaceful ways, but other would have less, ah, less restricting moral.

I am aware that the contest rules asked for "landscape" art, but I couldn't help it, that was the thing I was inspired for and couldn't make it work on a landscape format.

  8. Void Traces: Frankly I'm just happy we don't waste Void Traces since we have a bigger stockpile. Previously I had a few run where I needed 9 Traces or so for a Radiant, but collected 30 Void Traces, so I lost 21. If anything, I would like to still be able to influence our yield of Void Traces with farm frames.

Vandal Weapons: As far as I understand, these are mediocre weapons whose only worth come from the extra Mastery experience and their name. To me, it seems a folly to remove their exclusivity when it is the only thing that makes them special at all. I don't have them, I don't want them.

Steve's great but I'd rather have him in his office coding; I'm eager for Meg's return so that I can continue to adore her.

I'm fairly sure that Prime Time takes place after business hours...

You can't really expect Steve to be coding around the clock all the time. It's fine if he wants to, but he can also take his off time to Prime Time if he likes.
