What do we do with the Captured Eidos? Are we training them like animals in the circus to perform tricks in the New War such as "destroy your former family" and "roll over the infantry til they are dead"?

This isn’t really elaborated upon in-game, but my guess is that we are capturing the energy/core as opposed to entirety of the Eidolon. There are three reasons why I believe this to be the case:

    1. We need lures to capture Eidolons. Lures only seem to be able to absorb the spectral forms of the Vomvalysts, implying they that they absorb the Eidolon’s energy rather then their physical form.
    2. When the Eidolon is “captured”, it doesn’t get sucked into the lures but rather sinks into the ground. This mirrors how they return to the ground once night ends. The difference is that we forced the Eidolon to return, likely because we removed something that was integral in letting it roam above ground.
    3. When the lures explode after a hunt, they leave behind Sentient cores and shards. Capturing seems to yield more powerful/potent versions, perhaps indicative of greater Sentient energy yields.

As for what we do with them, the Tenno obviously use the cores/shards for unlocking their operator abilities and crafting. The main mystery in my mind is what the Quills do with all the cores we provide them.

What reason are we not able to totally destroy them when we don't capture them? Is it really a threat or are we just big game hunting and taking home trophies to put up on our social media walls?

It’s likely because we literally can’t with the equipment currently at our disposal. When Gara fought the original (much bigger and stronger) Sentient that terrorized Cetus, she was only able to stop it by detonating an Unum-crafted explosive next to its core. This obviously didn’t destroy it completely, and I doubt the weapons we use to hunt Eidolons are comparable in power.

How comes they never go towards Cetus or try to get through the energy field? They always walk away from the barrier and do not cross the path of Cetus.

According to the codex fragments, Eidolons rise because they are searching for “completeness”. Their priority is not attacking the Ostrons or the Unum tower but rather finding a way to once again reform back into the original Sentient. Eidolons are described as “simple-minded”, being “barely [able to] remember” their purpose. So I doubt a concentrated attack on Cetus would be within their capabilities especially if the Ostrons do nothing to provoke them.

Hope some of that helps, even if it’s mostly my conjecture.

  2. It would be awesome to have equippable “skins” for abilities in general to be honest. I know plenty of people who dislike how certain Prime ability visuals look compared to their base versions, and it’s a shame that the only way to access those ability visuals is to use the non-Prime variants.

Plus I’d love to have the Exalted Blade lightsword look from the new opening.

I would recommend either coming up with a cohesive system for stances OR scrapping the stance system entirely and coming up with something different that the stance slot could be used for.

Just in case you weren’t aware of this, Stances are planned to be reworked for Melee 3.0 presumably following the plan laid out in Devstream 114:

The Wukong rework was a sort of testbed for this, with his Iron Staff controls and combos being modified to fit the proposed changes.

But yeah, I agree with a lot of what you posted. They kind of dropped this half-finished melee update in our laps and haven’t bothered to polish some of the annoying bits yet. Hopefully the next melee phase to release addresses the concerns players have with the controls and usage of gear items with melee.

  4. I’m just wondering where this Zealoid Prelate guy fits into the Emissary storyline.

Was he a result of the conversion of Arlo’s acolytes, or does he predate Arlo himself? What is “Arlo’s Light” and why does it make the infested invulnerable?

He kinda came out of left field for me, and the fight doesn’t answer much.

  5. Sure, I’d be all for it. Especially since most of the quivers clip through Umbra’s back currently, which is aggravating when you’re seeing the back of your frame 90% of the time.

Wouldn’t this be better posted in the Weapons Feedback section though?

You’re assuming that bows will ever be popular. Even if the Daikyu was one of the most powerful weapons in the game, bows will always be niche weapons. They just aren’t that popular.

Riven disposition isn’t adjusted purely on popularity anymore. Now DE also references an “internal power ranking” when changing the disposition values, as seen in the recent Riven Developer Workshops.

  7. After months of silence regarding player feedback on the loot frame changes (despite having numerous opportunities to address it), releasing a new Prime Access-exclusive booster does seem a bit suspect.

If they had maybe released a news post or workshop discussing their plans and specified that the booster wasn’t exclusive to Prime Access ahead of time, I could see this going down better then it did.

I’m personally going to wait and see what DE does with this before I jump to conclusions, but definitely not a good look.

  8. Spoiler

This bug occured on Thebe, Jupiter (currently occupied by Grineer at the time of this post).

Enemy spawns were normal, until the final override phase of the mission. After noticing a lack of enemies running at the consoles, I investigated to discover a huge amount of Sensor Regulators filling the hallways, rooms, and closets.

These Sensor Regulator spawns continued right up to the extraction point, with the only exception being the Grineer Flameblade Synthesis target I was tracking.

Can anybody tell me where to find the info on the rework to hacking and the wrist blade weapon?

I ask this because I try stay updated but it seems I might have missed this.

    Thank you!

They’ve been talking about hacking using a “data blade” for a while now. Most recent mention was in Devstream 129.

You can see the wrist blade in action during the Tennocon 2019 Empyrean showing, near the end where the player finishes off the Kuva Lich.

Because it's epic. Don't you feel anything when you see that many players standing together united against the unknown with epic music playing in the background?

It’s a cool moment to be sure. I’m just not convinced about what merits 16 players offers gameplay-wise vs say 8 or 4.

For example, I imagine 16 frames would easily be able to create visual chaos with all of their ability effects, which would definitely be distracting during a hard boss fight. It’s also easier to balance encounters around fewer players.

I guess I’ll check out PSO2 when it arrives at least, since it looks like it’ll be free.

It's more fun to play it than to watch it. As someone who's played through it myself. I assure you it is genuinely fun and it never gets old. Ask the PSO2 community yourself if you don't believe me: https://discord.gg/pso2

The game is so much fun that it's finally coming over to the west despite being delayed for 8 years and it's getting crossplay across all platforms.

I guess it’s up to preference, though I’ll say the battleship raid video you posted was a bit more interesting.

Not sure why we’d need more then 8 players in a raid to achieve something similar though, especially with how our abilities currently work.

  12. Frost/Prime, though mainly the legs are my issue. They work horribly with most leg armor and look ugly regardless.

Oberon/Prime has hideous proportions, with one of the few Primes that I feel is a visual downgrade.

Mirage with that lumpy leg and shoulder armor. Her default helmet isn’t doing her any favors either (and then there’s poor Trivelin, one of the ugliest helmets in the game imo).

    1. Excalibur. Plain and straightforward, but always gets the job done. I never get tired of bringing him to missions. It also helps that most cosmetics can be applied to him without issue, making him fun to accessorize.
    2. Frost. I’ve always liked playing ice-based characters in games, and I was pleased to discover that he’s surprisingly versatile. All of his augments are at least useful, and he has plenty of build variety between his various support and crowd control builds.
    3. Revenant. I love Sentient-themed stuff, so being able to play as an Eidolon-inspired frame was pretty hype for me. He could use some tweaks ability-wise but I love his visual design and sound effects.
    4. Nova. Powerful, versatile, and active, what’s not to love? Not a fan of her looks honestly but her kit more then makes up for it.
    5. Loki. My starter frame. When I feel like completing a mission with minimal effort, I tend to gravitate back to him.
