  1. Make him able to equip a melee in the secondary slot. So he would be able to switch between two different melee weapons.

    ^This. I'd love to be able to bring along both a sword and a Glaive. Different weapons for different purposes, I want 'em.

    As much as his new ultimate is like a new weapon

  2. I've seen many of the complaints, and... well, they fall into one of three categories;

    1;

    YOU mentioned FOUNDERS items! KILL KILL KILL KILL

    2;

    I don't like the idea of adding a Mk.I Skana/Lato, I don't want to backtrack for the mastery/experience/roleplay, and it will damage new players further.

    3;

    This is a band-aid approach, there are deeper problems and these need addressed.

    My answers;

    To the first variety;

    Go play in traffic. The OP stated they did not wish this to turn into a debate about whether Prime weapons belong in the game or not, or belong to all players or not, or ... blah, blah, blah. They exist, they are part of the weapon families s/he is proposing a rework to, and deserve mention, and even inclusion in the proposed change.

    To the second;

    The likelyhood of this happening is the opposite. Were such a thing to happen, if you look at the current stats the OP has posted, the Skana and Lato that we have now would become the Mk.I Skana and Mk.I Lato in the proposed rework, they are the same weapon. The proposed added weapons would be the Skana and Lato rather than the Mk.I Skana and Mk.I Lato, as the Skana and Lato we have now would just be renamed and the advanced versions added in to upgrade to should one wish. The new players would be given the same weapons we were with a slightly different name, and be allowed, as we would, to upgrade to the more advanced version should they choose.

         In short, the Skana you currently have in your inventory (and I mean the plain Skana) would be renamed the Mk.I Skana, and in the store would be a blueprint for the Skana, so that you could upgrade from the newly-dubbed Mk.I version.

    To the third;

    I agree. However, as DE has people working on this already, I would say to allow the OP's suggestion some merit, at the very least to tide us over until the damage/resistance overhaul is implemented, so that we can satisfactorily play with these weapons while DE continues their work on the long-term fix.

    Is that an acceptable line of logic?

    To the OP; sorry if it seems I'm answering for you, I have no wish to step on your toes. You seem to be getting a lot of negative feedback with very well thought out answers that have little to nothing to do with your actual post, and I wish only to help perhaps point the conversation in a more constructive direction.

    Edit; minor correction, can't believe I didn't see that before. 0w0

  3. From Cephalon Cordylon:

    Do not bathe outside of the Liset: While it may seem tempting to wash off in one of Earth's lakes or remove excess blood in a cloud of flesh-consuming nanites before extraction these often allows more parasites (and wear and tear) to build up on your equipment over time.

    So we actually do bathe outside of our warframes, and can host parasites if we aren't wearing our frames outside the Liset's enviroment.

    And if the Warframe is just a physical extension for the Tenno in question, how would that change this advice? Even the Infested can host parasites.

    On a side note; physical sensations such as bathing would be something I'd miss were I an energy being, were I given a physical form capable of as much as the WarFrames are, I'd likely try to use one for a bath in a nice pond myself were I not told otherwise. Some pervs might likely attempt to do so using a frame of the opposite gender I honestly don't think this does anything to disprove the energy theory, and maybe in some ways enhances it instead.

    Edit; corrected minor mistake, and WOOT! 200'th post!

  4. Mag. DE have said that grinier are clones and use technology to help parts of there body but DE have not stated that the enemy has less or more of that in the same enemy but at higher levels yes you can presume that but that's a presumption. While mags visuals or crush still show the enemy being hurt in the same way with an outcome of damage but no changes to there armour while corpus hardly wear any armour or none at all there bodies do not suffer effects of being crushed no matter how much force is placed upon them.

    You are still placing your own logic into a game which hardly as any in it and is not given enough background from DE or lore.

    Yes I know how gas works but tell me how at the moment it's going through walls and shut doors while doing it on an instant cast it does not have travel time to reach all the enemies hit hits at the excact same time. Yes there types of odours,chemicals and other such items that can travel instantly or fast however your placing your own logic into the game again when DE have not applied logic to all it's components and yrs you can add your own logic but that's just band aiding over what isn't in the game when it should be.

    I can place logic into this game it's simple but havering it work in some areas and not otherwise is a lack of design. Excaliburs radial blind placing my own logic be it fantasy or true before Los I could say it was energy based and goes through walls but that's not logical to fit the skill but avail he can hit enemies through walls, the game does not have logic that balances the game that's the point.

    -sigh- I counter your arguments with science and logic, both IRL and in-game, paired with lore, and you still give me the same arguments I countered with nothing actually backing them up or even attempting to refute my claims... save that claiming I'm putting logic into a game where it doesn't belong... even though I showed relatively clearly it does make sense, even in many of the ways it is implemented now.

    You imply that I think there are no bugs with the current LoS system applied to Radial Blind, or that I believe that it should go through walls, when I said exactly the opposite.

    I do believe I'm done talking to you, good day sir or ma'am.

  5. Sayrns misama instantly effects the targets it doesn't take time to reach them no for it to travel meaning that it's not logic based otherwise your saying that it's gas which travels through walls like a speed of a bullet. What your doing is placing your own logic into the game which isn't corrctly placed into the game by DE otherwise you know the ability called crush that mag uses how come the enemy just gets straight up and is not effected by the crushing of bones or anything ?

    If you read my post I told you how blind currently works and why it is not working like Los correctly otherwise why is it effected by range mods? To keep it balanced yer well logic doesn't effect the distance or how light travels past objects still blinding targets which doesn't in this game.

    I don't mind a discussion of what's wrong or right I still belive what I wrote is correct but insulting is not required or needed

    How much easily magnetic material is in your bones, really? What have the Grineer been doing for a long, long time?

    The Grineer are failed eugenecists, which means that the higher level enemies would logically be set up to take less effect from such abilities, which means less magnetically influenced material in the bones.... or no bones whatsoever being replaced by stronger materials, considering the Grineer. What Mag does is pretty much place a strong magnetic field in the middle of the person and let the force resulting do the rest, which means stronger structure would naturally be more resistant. On top of that, to show the logic, a circle is one of the strongest shapes to outward pressure known, and guess what the profile of the higher level units is? More circular than the base units, almost like they have support bands designed to be stronger against inward force... like armor is supposed to do?

    As for the Corpus, welcome to Science Fantasy as a genre; they have technomancy, whatever arguments you're willing to throw at them will be countered by pseudo-science.

    The Infested don't run by the rules anyway, they're living nanite constructs based off of corpses and creatures they've taken over, did you expect them to run by conventional logic applied to modern biology?

    As for Miasma, let me put it this way. There's a substance called thioacetone, called the world's smelliest chemical. This stuff is so stinky that a whiff will make even the most hardened toss their cookies. To show you how quickly a concentration gradient can pull things through air, it's been shown that you can smell one drop of this stuff from half a kilometer away almost instantly. You know how the sense of smell works, right? The molecule in question has to make it into your nose and be detected by the sensor cells, which means that the molecule in question made the jump of half a kilometer in mere seconds. Saryn's casting time covers all the time that is needed for her Miasma to travel a distance of a paltry twenty meters.

    As for 'travelling through walls at the speed of a bullet', I already covered that. I said that a gas doesn't care about corners, it GOES AROUND THEM. Spores and unicellular organisms are known to travel in similar patterns to gasses in the air.

    As for Excalibur and LoS, of course it is buggy, we've been saying it's buggy since it came out, because it doesn't work the way light does. It has been improving though, as one who mains Excalibur, I've been noticing. It's not as buggy as it was, but it's still pretty bad... part of why he's getting a rework. And as for how Blind is effected by Range mods, what does a brighter light do? Higher lumens mean more photons which means that more of them get further. Even some frequencies of light travel different distances with different effects. :\ You researched this part of your post about as much as your last one.

    Of course I'm applying logic, that's what an analyst does. >:\ I apply logic based on life and in-game physics as explained through what little lore we get.

    To put it a way that a favorite poster of mind put it; DE does not sit around all day twirling their moustaches wondering how they can attack the players today, or how to break logic this week. It's in their best interest to make a game that's GOOD (and in the case of a science fantasy genre, relatively logical), and they are trying to do that constantly with updates and hotfixes. Yes, many things in the game don't make sense (such as the bug that every 'advanced' player touts and complains at any attempt to fix where you can move faster by spinning on your bum), and they are being looked at. Many things were designed not to make sense, such as how the WarFrames work, and it has reasons in lore for being that way, therefore fitting the genre of science fantasy; if something in your universe doesn't make sense and is intended not to, have some technobable or technomancy or even freaking magic to explain why not.

    As for insults; I called you out on a post that took into account neither real-life physics nor in-game explanations for non-real-life logic, and called it what I saw it as; misinformation deserving of being squashed beneath the weight of all the science and lore that you were contradicting, and this isn't advanced science or well-hidden lore either. Attempting to use my argument's greatest strength as an insult to my person is a laughable attempt at a counter-argument, please think through your posts a bit more in the future? Or if I'm completely misunderstanding them, how about making it so that I don't have to sort through typo and run-on paragraphs?

    People hate powers that don't play the game for them.  SD and SJ gave Excal seamless mobility that not even Zephyr could match (at best they were different with one not being strictly better than the other.)

    People want all of their abilities to make the game really easy, rather than to open up alternative playstyles that AREN'T "CC or kill everything or become invulnerable."

    Excal's RB was stupidly strong; I'm not sure what they should have done with it, though the Los implementation isn't so bad in its current state (most of its detractors just want failsafe chain CC for killing level 100+ enemies that the game clearly wasn't balanced for.)

    RJ was bad because of low damage:risk ratio, suicidally long animation, and targeting issues.  The problem was NOT that it required line of sight, but that it had those issues.  If they fixed those issues and additionally made the javelins knock enemies into each other for knockdowns and bonus damage (and made enemies pinned to a wall/floor stunned for a while) then the ability would have been potentially quite powerful while also requiring choices and forethought from the player to make it truly shine.  DE changing RJ to a generic radial nuke (with a cheesy guaranteed stun attached) as a quick and lazy fix was a grievous mistake and shook my faith in them.  Then, as the last straw, they added line of sight back to RJ, but now it doesn't even throw projectiles.  Its animation was not fixed and its damage is still lackluster.

    Now, DE is just straight abandoning their original design for Excalibur and just introducing a new warframe with the same name and look to replace him.  DE doesn't care about improving the old content for longtime players; they just will churn out shiny new things to create hype and gain customers.  The drive to monetize their game (and possibly staff changes) have completely altered their design paradigms and as a result the game I fell in love with in September 2013 has all but slipped away.  My faith in DE has crumbled, given the horrendous state of Warframe compared to  how it was 18 months ago.

    Oh dear. You just crumbled all the faith I had in you, friend.

    If you haven't noticed, that 'seamless mobility' will belong to every single frame in the game, Excalibur will still have an advantage because you will be able to slash-dash upward, they're merging the abilities. :| Of all the people who I thought would pay attention, you were among the highest. DE is unsure what exactly they will be doing with Radial Javelin in the future, they're brainstorming... but you did at least hit the nail on the head with its current problems.

    As for Excalibur becoming a completely new frame; they give him ONE new ability, ONE, and he becomes completely different? It's not even an ability that 'does everything for you,' it changes your frame mode to Tensa Zangetsu without the speed boost, you actually have to work to make it do anything. For one so focused on ways to make the game more skill-focused and reduce radial spam, I'm surprised at you.

    I do agree that radial spam and 'Crowd control all the things!' are a problem, but one that come with the territory when you have a few elite units taking on armies. You have to be able to control the battlefield through some means, and skills like that are necessary. Do they need to do the work for you? No. Do they need to be completely removed? Also, no. Considering what's being done with Excalibur and the backlash that's incuring, I don't wanna know what will happen if they nerf crowd control again.

    As for why I dislike the LoS system currently inherant with Blind, it's buggy. As my previous section has stated, it's gotten better, but it still fails to blind targets that it should, and blinds targets that it should not, causing most strategic placing and skill that is attempted to go to waste.

    Also; again. It's in DE's best interest to make a good game, they do not spend their time wondering how to best attack the players next. The game is in Beta, expect it to change, provide constructive feedback instead of yowling about how they're ruining everything.

    TL;DR.

    Yes, logic. Miasma does make sense, technomancy counters most arguments in science fantasy genres, and I admit Radial Blind is buggy, never said otherwise. Excalibur is not a completely new frame because of one new ability, and his new ability is more skill based than Javelin ever will be, and for the 'loss of mobility', parkour 2.0, research it, and Excal's jump is being merged into slash dash. Have the spirit bomb and kaioken, shut up Bojack.

    Disclaimer;

    I do apologise if I come off as abrasive in this post. I see false information and attacks upon a developer that is trying hard to keep up with the varied demands of their players, and doing a surprisingly good job despite all the 'doom threads'. Misinformation and attacks upon those innocent of the charges leveled at them are two of my greatest enemies, so I used my +2 modifier against them accordingly, please do not take it personally, and do your research better next time.

  6. If this change was made, new players would be put at a disadvantage for starting to play the game when they did, even more so than they are currently. If the Lato and Skana Primes are best in class, this is going to happen no matter what.

    This change would actively harm everyone that isn't a founder and fuel even more elitism/superiority from the founders and resentment/jealousy from the non-founders.

    No thank you.

    ?w? Did you even look at the numbers? The proposed Mk.I Skana is exactly the Skana that we have now. It would not be hurting them AT ALL, it's the same bloody weapon. Being able to upgrade to the Skana shortly after would HELP new players, not hurt them. :\

    Also, Skana Prime now looks almost exactly how I would expect a Prime version of the Skana to be. Focused, and a diagonal up/side grade from the original, enhancing its feel without just being a 'moar damij' version. Mid-range critical, with good status. ^w^ Thanks for listening to my suggestion.

  7. logic in this game is biased and only used to nerf a frame because people found a way to

    use it effectively. saryn has a skill called miasma which has no LOS and why is that ? it

    comes from saryn her self so it should not go round walls or thorugh them same for

    loki/ash/trinity and others.

    Alright, let me put it this way. If you release a gas into a room, how long does it take to spread around, and does it only go straight? NO. Look up what a concentration gradient is and how gas spreads through a room before posting such drivel.

    Loki's abilities are designed oddly in the first place, if you're talking about radial disarm, then it's an energy pulse... likely based on something like a shockwave, which, guess what, doesn't care what corners you throw at it, it will echo around them. Same for trinity, really.

    As for Ash, if you analyze his ability further, you will find that he spawns several clones and then they and Ash all run around the area LOOKING FOR ENEMIES TO KILL.

    You'd think they'd all be able to look around corners, huh?

    I apologise if I seem a bit blunt, but this part of this post was about as well thought out as trying to shove a horse chestnut down your throat without shelling it first.

    And for those that don't have horse chestnuts in their area, they look like this;

    http://www.circadia.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Horsechestnut.jpg

    As for Excal's rework, yes. He needed it. Yes, other frames need it too. If you watch the dev streams (51 and 52 I believe) you will find that he was bumped up to their attention by the forums, likely because of recent nerfs/tweaks to mechanics he relied upon throwing him into the 'most obviously in need of steroids' portion of the community's varied and often somewhat anemic eye.

    -reads own post- Good Lord, I need to lay off watching Zero Punctuation for a while...

  8. Admittedly... I payed attention to only the melee portion of your post. :P I'm not much of a gun fan, and have already used up what interest I had in the Latos.

    I'm rather enjoying your ideas as to making the current Skana a Mk.I weapon, as its stats reflect, and then making the proper version a bit more fleshed out. However, I would suggest that all of us who kept the original skana, just have that be changed to the Skana Mk. I, and the new Skana be considered a new weapon. That way we have the same weapon (admittedly just renamed and given a direct upgrade path) and can move to the upgrade rather than having to step back for the Mk.I version should we wish to experience the full family... or just get the mastery points, for the metagamers out there.

    Keeping the Prisma Skana a crit-build weapon was a good idea, however having the normal Skana almost caught up with it seems a little... well, a little like the Prisma Skana isn't exactly worth it. Maybe giving it an extra three percent crit chance would help the build keep its edge over the main variety, with slightly less damage buff than you proposed?

    I cannot speak well for the Skana Prime, as I do not have it. I also had the chance to get the founders' pack, but did not because I was just starting and did not know how big a part of my gaming life WarFrame would become. I regret. TwT I will give it a try, though I cannot vouch for my accuracy in this area.

    Personal regrets aside, I'm of the mind that the Prime weapons should capitalize upon the strengths of their 'base weapon,' usually by side-grading, and enhancing their feel and gameplay rather than just being a straight damage buff. A bit of extra damage is to be expected, of course, but the weapon's strengths should be enhanced by the change, or perhaps a weakness covered. The Prisma Skana seems to almost invert the non-damage traits of the weapon (skana has higher status chance than crit, Prisma is the other way around, etc.), so I think that the Skana Prime should have a high status chance and swing speed instead of critical, that way it deals extra in bleed rather than critical damage, and has the chance to proc more often with attack speed which is arguably just as useful if not more so (ignoring armor to an extent and all that).

    I rather like your train of thought, and look forward to any future work on other weapon families... please do scythes next? ;w;

    Edit; clarification.

  9. Bring mesa,press 4,click ,watch the thing die in 7-8 sec.

    Yeah super fun really.And if you don't have mesa?Cheese it ,destroy him with your any formated weapon and laugh.

    Seriously the fight is awful and i won't do it more.IF it has rewards may be i would be it doesn't so yeah..

    So you roflstomp an enemy designed to be difficult by using bugs and cheese rather than actually fighting it? Why are you even playing this game if you make it as little fun for yourself as possible?

  10. If you're going to make it that risky, then give a reward that's worth it. I'd prefer something I can use to a trophy in my ship... if it's going to be a raid-like, then maybe have a fight with the Juggernaut at the end and give raid rewards? I mean, we need some method of getting arcanes without being forced into online mode.

  11. Still, it's interesting they have Prisma Grineer weapons like the Gorgon and in the next future Grakata. I mean, in lore they are the lowest technology weapons, you would think nobody cares to use such sophisticated process as the Prisma Crystals on them.

    Well... there's even lower-tech weapons, such as the Skana itself, and the Prisma Crystals seem to do really well in melee. Maybe they can only actually be used for simple weapons, for whatever arbitrary reasons? The Tenno usually use simple weapons because of the foes they were built to fight; the Sentients, being able to take over or some other method of turning it against the wielder if it was sufficiently advanced. It also seems to have a link to the Tenno already, and I would prefer it only Tenno weapons got the Prisma treatment... but such will not be the case, sadly.

  12. In time, my friend. In time. We Lore nuts shall finally be appeased! -manlytear.jpeg-

    Jokes aside, I do like the idea, and the direction that DE is starting to take with lore in general. We're getting somewhere! There have been debates and ideas flying back and forth across a few threads faster than my notification box can keep up with, and as a lore nut, I love it. Even if just something to tide me over, I would love to see the helmet descriptions given some love. Thanks a lot. ;w;

  13. No, lets have actualy something endgame instead of prisma weapons that are weak but require 200k creds 500 ducats and MR10 to have them. Im intrested is gear that i can use, if weapon does not have any endgame potential i dont buy/farm/craft it. It is simple as that, im not mastery farmer but im vet. Give me weapons that I will use on relay that requires MR10 to get there. The price isnt the issue, the quality is.

    Thus why I said my post was half in jest. Here's the serious part;

    The Prisma Skana may not look like much, but it's a gem when you start playing to its strengths. Its stance polarity matches Crimson Dervish, and unlike most weapons that use this stance, it is surprisingly speedy with it on. Strength of the stance, without one of its weaknesses. It also has a comparatively massive crit chance, enabling you to go even FASTER by using Berserker. This even counters another weakness of the Crimson Dervish; lack of mobility. By speeding it up, even just with maxed Fury, you can swing on the run and barely notice the speed decrease... and with a maxed Pressure Point and Buzz Kill, it's dealing as much slash damage as a base Galatine, even before you factor in the bonuses from the stance. Seriously; with a little work, this shiny little weapon shines in combat as well.

    The Prisma Skana already has two legs up on the original Skana, it's logical to say that other Prisma weapons would be suitably souped-up to match.

    Prisma Excalibur, on the flipside, would likely remain just another Excalibur skin, so as not to step on the Founders' toes.

    Edit; Also... the heck is Endgame? If you're talking T4D at three hours or some such -censored-, then you really need to evaluate why you're playing this game. FarmFrame isn't actually fun, from what I can see and hear, and WarFrame, for all its serious subject matter and dark lore, was meant to be fun. Part of why DE is constantly giving even base mechanics a boost, and thus being stuck in Beta phase for much of the forseeable future.

  14. The Soma is a headshot weapon with something like a 4x Multiplier. Heavy Cal for example is only x1.65. Not factoring that in, is leaving a massive amount of DPS on the table. Flat number comparsions using the Somas are tainted, due to the skill factor of their highest potential DPS. Something like the Boltor Prime would have been a much better choice.

    Furthermore this sort of comparison also leaves out other variables like elemental combos. The SG's native Magnetic is a DPS negative in many scenarios. So without factoring that in as well, it's not a overall accurate representation. It's simply an 'on paper' example with little in game relevance.

    That is not even addressing the main issue in the end anyway, which isn't actually the DPS of the weapon, but rather it's sustainability. Which even with a full Primed Ammo Mutation is poor, due to high ammo consumption.

    Headshot multiplier is the same on every weapon. If you take that into consideration on one weapon, you have to take it into consideration on the other. The Syn Gammacore has pinpoint accuracy, but low range. If you use it as a laser scalpel for headshots, you can boost the DPS even further, and ignore many of the downsides to magnetic damage... and if you add corrosive and/or blast onto it, it ignores that downside anyway.

    It's the Kamehameha; it melts holes in almost anything very quickly, dilutes once it hits its max range, and takes a lot out of you (ammo supply issues). It's entire purpose now is either a precision tool for aiming at and destroying weak points (at which it is EXCEPTIONAL, none beat it here) and/or a last-ditch method of blowing your opponents away to give you some space, which it also does very well, especially there are few to none main weapons that use pistol ammo, so you usually have a supply when you actually need it.

    TL;DR

    Trying to bring the Syn into mainstream combat is usually about as logical as bringing senbon to a medieval battle, but as a precision weapon or a last-ditch 'GET AWAY!' it works wonders.

  15. And if this is just an experimental poke to see how it goes over? If one is about to do something, would they do it all at once, or poke it a few times in a few different directions to see which is best?

    I sincerely hope that the Anku as we know it is a prototype of what is about to happen to the entire Scythe class in the future. ;w; Hey, someone's gotta hold up the hope a bit.

  16. *throws anything not nailed down*

    XwX

    We have enough bows, they are not even that usefull.

    -paw in the air- Excuse me sir, but....

    WUT?

    Bows are about the only primary weapon type I'm willing to outright use, and they are quite useful. I've managed to beat a Soma in both damage output and number of kills on Eris (hive mission), using just the Cernos. The looks on their faces.... XD Priceless.

    Oops... did not mean to make two posts in a row. My bad.

  17. Yes, this thread is half in jest. HALF.

    We got the Prisma Skana, and we're happy for it. It's a lovely little piece of work, and looks absolutely beautiful.

    But... what about the rest of the starting gear? I for one would rather like to see a Prisma Bo, or a Prisma Lato, or Prisma Kunai... heck, while we're at it, maybe even a Prisma Excalibur eventually. X3

    What I would absolutely love to see though, as a bow enthusiast, is a Prisma Paris, or maybe skip the paris and upgrade my favorite bow, one that has been ignored for FAR TOO LONG -drumroll-

    Let's have a Prisma Cernos! -braces for thrown fruit and vegetables-

  18. I want it as a duration ability with the capability to cancel the power early.

    Exactly?

    Why not making a new mechanic for the new ultimate?

    The Skill gets a duration and you can cancel it whenever you want. But if you want to recast the skill, you have to wait for the remaining duration.

    So let's say the skill has a duration of 20 seconds. You cancel the skill after 10 seconds. After that canceling you have to wait the remaining 10 seconds before you can activate the skill again.

    Or maybe just halt the remaining duration...

    That... actually doesn't sound like a bad idea. :\ Will have to give it some thought.
