  1. I don't usually leave feedback (you guys overall do a really good job) but I do have some suggestions this time because I've been grinding a bit much:

    • Don't make the challenges specific to a location, I think the best part of the first challenges was that we could go wherever we wanted to complete them. I also say this because the ones that require you to go to Plains of Eidolon or Orb Vallis might not be possible to complete for everyone, I know a lot of people who can't run the latter and can't change their PCs atm + some people find it a bit tedious (especially when the challenge is "complete x incursions on x place").
    • Elite challenges can and should go hand in hand with "elite" missions or "elite" enemy types, this is very much sorties (which has been handled well), arbitrations, eximus or even just specific harder enemies and nightmare missions (for example). I'm not against time/wave goals for certain endless types of missions though! but then those shouldn't be long enough that no one wants to do them (aka the one hour survivals).
    • Better word the challenges. There's some duality or vagueness about certain challenges which make one wonder if we need to do one thing or the other. For Kuva survival I found myself and others confused on whether we had to not use the life support capsules (not even for harvesting kuva) or if we just didn't have to use them as life support capsules. For the current exterminate challenge some people have wondered if it's without enemy detection (aka not being seen) or just not raising the alarms (and it's the latter)
    • On the friend/clanmate missions topic I agree with those who say people could just add some rando to play with for those missions, since both get the benefit of that, and then unfriend once the deed is done but I also understand the appeal of doing missions on public or solo. So I can't really say much on the matter... especially when I have friends who play so their comeback would actually benefit me and I don't want to be biased.
    • Last point! I'm sure you guys have gotten feedback on the riven challenges so while I'm out of ideas for now, you could take a look to those. The riven challenges are not awfully terrible overall and maybe it would give some people twice the reason to do a challenge (say for a riven AND a nightwave act).

NOTE: this is specific to the challenges, I've just seen some people talk about the rewards and the gate holding and I gotta say being an experienced player I completely forgot about that and it can turn into a big problem.

Full Moon is something I've been getting some questions about. It would make more sense to not have the heal during invulnerability (imo) and just have invulnerability as long as the cast lasts (since the sudden change on stats could kill in certain situations) or maybe have a % of damage taken to heal but as an augment and not the ability itself. The armor and shields sacrifice is so that you don't win without losing obviously bc there's the heal rate once the ability is active and the bonus strenght.

I'm sadly not gonna be around this weekend but I'll certainly think about it and update the post soon!

Update on this matter: I've discussed it with my pal and we've decided that it is best to keep it the way it is.

The full heal acts as compensation for the fact that you lose both armor and shields on cast. While once the ability is activated it has a heal over time the only other ability that's similar to Full Moon in this matter would be Oberon's Renewal which gives you an armor boost when used with another ability and does not strip off armor and shields. So, the initial heal would make up for this and add an utility quality to it too.

On the kubrows matter they'd be doing 725 slash damage per hit at level 50 (and is tied to Lycan's strenght too).

Probably just like most others here, I would love a wereframe, which would probably become my main if it were ever released.  However, I am not quite sure I understand "Full Moon."  It says he sheds his armor, by 50%, but then he is invincible, and the damage he takes heals everyone around him.  So, why shed the armor, if he is just gonna be invincible, and at pretty much any level past about 35 those 4 seconds of invincibility will over heal even inaros if he lets himself be shot.  Even at lvl 10 or so, one heavy gunner or corpus tech could heal 2.5-3k in that time with a spooled-up gun. Also, could you include the damage of the kubrows at lvl 50, along with hp and armor?

TL;DR, I Like the idea, just a little more explanation on the skills.

I'm not the expert in abilities here since they were mainly developed by @(PS4)The_Bird543. Calculations were also done by them and I know they didn't calculate the kubrows damage so I'm gonna have to say I have no idea what that would be, you can probably get an idea though since it should work like specters do with enemy AI?

Really like this idea, I have always wanted a werewolf frame in Warframe. What program did you use to make that concept art?

Thank you! I like to draw with Paint Tool Sai so all the artwork you see here was done there. The "reference sheet" itself was made in Photoshop CS4 because it was just easier for me to make use of gradient and text editing tools there.

Very nice take on the concept, more of a pack leader than a mashpack of four damage skills. ^^

(Visually, it would also be neat to see the 'scruff' have some form of physics, maybe something that's too much for a frame but then the Atavist armor set has those jingly rings on it!)

❤️ Not gonna lie he was a bit of all-damage originally but as I got feedback I realized that making him more of a team player would be better (and I love playing support also so that was def an influence) ^^

As for visuals, that would be nice since it's supposed to be like fur? kinda...? I'm hoping to maybe work on some more sketches of him and his ability casts since that would be interesting and I still have to end his "full moon" form >>

I dont know why you guys are pointing out that these creatures are cliche. Doesnt make these legendary beast any less epic

I know right! I just pointed it out on the post because as an artist I'm aware I'm certainly not the only one to have ever done this concept in some way or another and I want it to be known that I'm sure there are other great concepts for this but that this one's mine, I suppose.

Thanks everyone for the feedback btw! I really love the abilities and how it came out so seeing people liking it is super nice ❤️

  6. It's been a good while since I've posted anything here but I did this Warframe concept and a lot of people have been asking me to post it here in forums and "show it to DE" so.

    lJa38zp.png

This is a concept I’ve been working on for a couple weeks and that I’ve been meaning to expand on but I just can’t wait to show, in short, this is a werewolf/kubrow based warframe with two forms (one still in development but ultimately similar to the one displayed here).

Special thanks and credit to @(PS4)The_Bird543  for their feedback and help with the development of this guy’s abilities and name.

    Transcript of stats and abilities:

    Spoiler

    STATS:

    HEALTH: 125 / 375
    SHIELDS: 100 / 300
    ENERGY: 125 / 188
    ARMOR: 200
    SPRINT SPEED: 1.05

PASSIVE, FERAL: Lycan deals +25% damage on ground finisher, and receives +10% faster swing speed and 25% health regen over 5 seconds on ground finisher kill.

    ABILITIES:

    TEAR (ENERGY COST 25)

Lycan leaps at an enemy within (20/30/45/60*Range) meters knocking them down and dealing (75/150/225/300*Strength) slash damage with 100% status chance.

    STALK (ENERGY COST 50)

Mark an enemy for (10/20/30/40*Duration) seconds reducing their accuracy by (10/15/20/25*Strength)% and opening them to receive +(10/15/20/25x*Strength)% more damage from all sources. Any enemy within (5/6/8/10*Range) meters of the marked enemy will also be affected by it.

FULL MOON (ENERGY COST 25 + DRAIN)

Lycan beckons the moon with an eldritch howl, ripping the metallic plates off his body and revealing the beast inside. On cast, Lycan loses 50% of his armor and all of his shields and is invulnerable for (1/2/3/4) seconds. All damage during this invulnerability time heals him and allies within (10/15/20/25*Range) meters based on damage received with (50/60/80/100)% efficiency.

Lycan and allies within range are healed (10/15/20/30*Strength) points per second and receive a (10/15/25/40*Strength)% damage boost. This ability has a base 2 energy per second drain and an extra 3 energy per second per effected ally.

    PACK HUNT (100)

Lycan lets loose a whistle summoning (1/2/3/4) feral Kubrows which tend to stay around allies. These kubrows are healed by (3/3/4/4*Strength)% of their total health per second by Full Moon instead of the normal heal rate, and experience a constant drain of (6/5/5/4÷Duration)% of their total health per second.

These kubrows* have 1000 flesh health and 100 ferrite armor that scales and deal 100 slash damage per hit with a 5% status chance, all scaling with enemy AI.

*At level 50, these will have 37015 health and 554 armor, creating an effective health pool of 105370 based on Current Health×(1+Current Armor÷300).

    SIDENOTES:

    • Credits to @(PS4)The_Bird543 for all their help with these as well ❤️
    • The blades of Argea are made of silver and cannot be colored otherwise. This melee were going to be either sparring, a silver dagger or claws. We ended up deciding on the latter since there's not that many in game and it is also fitting to Lycan.
    • The crossbow is semi auto - this is why the fire rate is 2 rounds/sec and its stats are somewhere between rubico and a charged Cernos shot.

    "FIRST DRAFT" OF LYCAN

    Spoiler

    bHEXE88.png

    More on Lycan:

I'm aware that a werewolf themed warframe is probably pretty cliche and that it's been done before (it would certainly not surprise me though I haven't seen any other concept myself) but when I originally designed him I was half joking about having a kubrow warframe because we got Khora now and I think she's pretty great and I just simply loved the idea of having warframes related in some way to our pet companions. Anyway, what started as a joke and a thing that "would probably not happen" ended up becoming this concept right here because I had the great idea of showing it to some people and they were super into it and then I got a little attached to the concept and I promised myself I'd make something out of it.

As for the thematic aspect of it! The werewolf myth is quite popular so I can't think of anything to add to that. I just happen to love wolves and canids in general too which might have had something to do with the forth ability being kubrows and not anything else.

  7. I already made a post on this here but just in case and since this is the official megathread I'm going to try to make a shorter version here so that it is in the proper place.

    • NEW UI:
      • Pros: looks really pretty and I actually want to say I'm a huge fan of the vitruvian background, it's tight, the color combinations are great as well!
      • Cons: it's a huge change from the old UI and a lot of the things look off in comparison so, here's my main issues:
        • All of the boxes are smaller now, while this is not a problem it also means the images within them are so and that makes it harder to easily view things sometimes, especially when you are not looking forward to hover each one of them to only have the contents inside zoomed in. Having a way to scale them up would be nice? There's also a somewhat aesthetic problem with the new UI since everything is on almost perfect squares the syndicate mods (for example) look really small in the offerings screen and you have to hover over to be able to get a good look at them... going back to rectangular boxes wouldn't be bad...
        • It feels like we are missing a lot of text. While I'm aware less text means a cleaner UI it also means that, for example, prime parts in large are all the same to you on the ducat kiosk unless you double check on them (this doesn't apply to blueprints since they show you the weapon/warframe they are for).
        • The matching/host system (public/solo/invite-only/friends-only options) is now hidden in navigation by default so it's not explicit and I feel like a lot of us are gonna forget to double check what we have chosen if we don't do it all the time... I, for a fact, have at least twice earlier this morning when I was doing missions. Having a little sign that told us "you are running public/solo/etc" was nice and I do hope you consider bringing it back.
    • THE SACRIFICE QUEST:
      • Overall review: 10/10 It was well done, it was well delivered, I didn't have any major bugs just one glitch with my primary weapon at the end but not a big deal and I'm sure a lot of people had it too and it's probably been already fixed. So, thank you all for your effort and hard work!
      • Now... I did have a couple issues with it.
        • First one, Earth's levels didn't seem as optimized as usual for low-end PCs, I did have some of my settings on medium to be fair, but this was really a big contrast to me since the Lua missions ran just fine with the same ones.
        • Off that the lighting on the confrontation scene on Earth is perhaps way too bright? I've seen screenshots from people with higher settings and the lighting didn't look so bad in their version so maybe take a look at it, it simply looked a bit off.
        • Last issue I had and this is kind of spoilers and long so I'm gonna go ahead and put a spoiler box:
          Spoiler

did our operators really have to be so rude/impolite to Ordis?

Here's the thing, even from an objective point of view (I admit I'm biased) the only character that hasn't abandoned us and has always cared for us is Ordis.

So, after the events of The War Within and The Apostasy Prologue, after the Cephalon fragments and the hint to Ordan in Octavia's Anthem... do our operators really don't care about Ordis at all? When he becomes a creepier more robotic version of himself due to the Vitruvian, do our operators really just shrug it off and go on? I know that they are edgy stubborn angsty teenagers but it's hard for me to believe that after all Ordis has done for them they would not worry about him or try to understand him, or just, be a little nicer to him if they can...

I mean, if we can empathize with Warframes why can't we do so with Ordis who has gone through more than enough for us and before us? He's been through a lot of pain and hardships and our operators know that so... do they really have to be like that?

I know Lotus is a very important figure and that our operators miss her since she filled the "mother" role that Margulis left but... Ordis has literally never left and he was basically our guide through the whole quest... he seriously didn't deserve to be treated that way. If anything let us choose to be nicer to him next time, I know it might make the dialogue a bit slower but I'd like to have a choice, he really didn't deserve that when he was trying his very best to comfort us most of the time.

I am aware a lot of players find him annoying and hold a little grudge against him but some of us don't and I do appreciate the role he plays in the game, besides, he's literally the next closest thing our operators have to a parental figure right now so maybe let us not be so harsh on him? This is just my opinion but I know a lot of people have had issues with this too so here's my contribution to that.

  8. Last night's update was great and I want to, first of all, thank all of the DE team for making it happen! I am aware some players had some bugs with the quest but I was lucky enough to not have any and it was a really good experience. Thank you so much for bringing this quest to us and giving us not only a new Warframe for our arsenal, but a new nikana. I've been around for a couple years now and I can't possibly be more thankful to all of you for your effort and passion ❤️

That being said I do have a couple complaints and perhaps I'm not alone which is why I decided to make this thread.

I'll start with the new UI because it's the one thing I noticed this morning when I logged in again to get the latest hotfixes downloaded and all. So, I honestly forgot all about it last night and I sadly don't have screenshots with me but this morning when I was playing missions and trying to do stuff with my equipment or even just with syndicates it stood up something was off... the new art style for the screens is gorgeous but things feel 1) smaller now 2) off scale 3) like we are missing text

    1. In the syndicate screens everything is smaller and I mean, all the offerings/rewards look smaller... this is a problem especially with the mods since now instead of having them display what they do we have to hover over them to read and it's just not as comfortable when choosing what to grab. Besides that (and I sadly don't have a screenshot to compare) the rewards seem to be on the wrong ranks? I'm pretty sure one of the warframe mods from Meridian was on the last rank instead of the one before when I checked this morning.
    2. I'm aware you are working on new art for each of the things so they fit the little boxes properly but... it's okay to go back to the slightly bigger rectangular boxes if you want? Once again hovering over things looks a little awkward, maybe when hovering over one of the boxes the box itself should expand (like mods do in warframe loadouts) instead of just the image inside it for easier reading/looking.
    3. This is a problem I had when trying to sell things to get ducats. I couldn't read what part I was selling until I clicked or hovered over it and I have a good amount of prime parts so that means I had to basically check what I could get rid of and what I still need every single time... I know it's all ordered alphabetically by default but when you have a lot of prime parts to sell it gets a little annoying to have to check *every single time* because you can't see the name of the part on the overview and you are afraid you chose the wrong thing. I'd also like to point out while the new solo/invite only/friends only/public option looks pretty nice I have a feeling a lot of us will literally forget what we have it set to since we don't see it right next to our names every time we are in navigation. I certainly have.

    The Sacrifice (SPOILERS AHEAD)

    Spoiler
    1. While Earth has been optimized for low-end PC users (I had a lot of my settings on medium to be fair) for a quest so important I was hoping at least the levels for it would be a bit more so? I had some moments in the part before the patio/graveyard where the scenes would lag... way too much (even when I lowered settings for some reason) and with a lot of Ghouls attacking it wasn't ideal... Then patio/graveyard scene IS really pretty and the environment looks tight but it felt too bright.... I've seen screenshots from people with higher settings than mine and the lighting didn't look so bad in their version so maybe take a look at that?
    2. The dialogues were overall great and I'm a big fan of the quests being focused on bonds and love and all of those nice things that so many other games forget about but... exactly because of the things I've just said did our operators really have to be so rude/impolite to Ordis?

Here's actualy a thread that was made earlier on this topic by @CephalonGhost just in case because I do want to bring it up.

The thing is even from an objective point of view (which isn't mine to be honest because I really enjoy all the content of our Cephalons) the one person that's been always with us and accompanied us and helped us and never abandoned us so far is Ordis, our ship Cephalon who is tasked to take care of us and actually does so.

We've even put him in danger a lot of times and he hasn't done as much as complained a little and expressed not being very much into it? and he's always worried about our wellbeing and our sanity and how we feel? am I supposed to believe that after the events of The War Within and the Apostasy Prologue, after the Cephalon fragments and the hint to Ordan on Octavia's Anthem, our operators don't respect him or care about him? that our operators wouldn't care if he suddenly shifted and became a creepier version of himself like he did after the Vitruvian was installed? I know some players dislike him and hold a bit of a grudge against him but at least let us choose how we feel regarding him, let us pick between being little brats or children who know that he's doing the best he can for us... if the operators can form bonds and empathize with Warframes due to how broken and hurt they are... why can't they do so with Ordis after all he's gone through for us and before us? I also understand that the operators are stubborn but you can be stubborn and care about the people around you at the same time.

TL;DR: All I'm saying is: let us be nicer to Ordis, he's trying to play both his role and the Lotus at the same time and he is clearly concerned about how her leaving affected us... I'm aware of how important Lotus is since she's our handler and replaced the void left by Margulis as a mother figure and all but with all that's been going on... she's not around for us anymore now and Ordis is the next thing closest to a parental figure our operators can possibly have.
    3. It might have been fixed already but when you stab Ballas there's a glitch where secondary/primary suddenly become the hilt of your weapon and it looks really awkward? like it was sure fun but seeing my tigris prime as the hilt for the new nikana was sure something I wasn't expecting in the middle of that climax.

  9. questions for the devs:
Are there more heavy lore related quests coming?

Will we learn more about the Orokin this year?

Is there something you are really excited for us to see in game and haven't talked about -at all- yet?

(P.S.: kudos to the team for all their hard work)

  10. 7 hours ago, Elvangreen said:

    Very, Very nice.

one thing to note is that the fragments seem to show a single boltace, rather than either variety of boltor.

Also, ordis actually seems to dislike kubrows.

I feel that you captured Surda's personality perfectly, and that simaris is also very close. (loving the formality of his attire and his expression).

Ordis seems a little to "polished"?... it seems a bit off considering his glitchy nature and former incarnation as the Beast of Bones.

I completely forgot about the Boltace! I'll correct it once I'm home.

About him disliking kubrows by the end of Howl Of The Kubrow he shows concern about their well-being and also says the sound they make isn't "displeasing" so he doesn't hate them that much. I believe its more of a filth related hatred? Especially taking in count his first comment on the infested door after TWW.

He's personality has always been kind/calm with short outbursts if you mean that? Appearance wise I wanted to make him look a bit less "savage" than his older self because the Orokin literally played his mind to make him calmer so that off feeling is kinda what I was looking for. I also based myself on my old drawing and first "human" impression of him.

    Thanks for the feedback!

  11. So... while revising old fanart and artwork I came across this and realized I never thought of a "humanized version" for Suda, with Octavia's Anthem's webcomic "What Remains" in mind, I decided that it would be great for me to (finally) do so and also replace the idea of 'humans' for 'androids' since it would make more sense the way things are now.

    tZ07Gd0.jpg

I've kept Ordis almost the same with a change of outfit, I believe? and a change of art style, years sure flew by...

Simaris outfit is quite renewd since I got stuck thinking about "hunting" and he so very much insists on calling us Hunters for his Sanctuary. I was originally going to add a rifle or weapon holstered but I cowarded.

Suda looks quite herself though her outfit is changed from the one from What Remains, I thought it would be nice to go with something that reminded me of her mindscape.

little dumb drawing I did late at night and found funny?? just Ordis taking out the Kubrows at the nearest Relay, Suda being too much of a Para-Carrier lover and Simaris not wanting his Kavat to be anywhere near those dogs.

Not 100% related to this specific thread of thoughts I've been thinking a lot about the Cephalon Fragments and their hidden messages. So, spoilers ahead.

    Spoiler

worth noting: while thanks to a few videos with good video quality I have determined that Ordan is
    1) giving us his back while he speaks/narrates what happened
    2) wearing a Syandana similar to the Izvara "The exclusive garment of Tenno chosen to protect Orokin Council of Executors."
    3) holstering what seems to be a Boltace (pointed out below this thread, thanks!)
    4) with his head hooded
I sketched the main drawing (the actually finished one) before realizing so that's why it may look slightly odd taking in count those things.

Anyways! have some "fan concept" of what he must have looked like to me, and also what he probably looked like wearing Orokin fashion.

    jdCkChL.jpg

I took a bit of artistic liberty. I did a good bunch of drawings thinking a lot about the fragments and I hope to some day try to illustrate a few scenes because the narration got me. It struck me as well written and it truly tells a LOT about the Orokin and their ways of being.

  12. A little thing because I can't believe I'm back to playing this game? I'm sorry if this is dumb and to those wondering "who the hell is this 20-year-old nerd publishing fanart all of the sudden" I used to do fanart more often before (here, an old forum post with a bunch of my old drawings), I'm actually currently planning on revisiting some of my old designs and re-doing them or re-working them or whatever because I just got so many feelings about this game??? Anyways! Story time?

So it happens, one of my friends farmed Banshee Prime for me.

I decided then I needed to get the resources and build her but everything had changed so much I didn’t feel too motivated… college had also just started again and I didn’t find the time (or forgot) to do it. Not long ago I decided to try once more.

It was odd at first, I had not played in too long, I wasn’t as good as before and to top it: a lot of my friends barely play these days.

I found a ‘new’ community. Everything changed. Void relics?? Junctions?? All the new quests!! I remember the time when Ordis wasn’t even here for us…

I was really lost but all the new things, especially the quests, made me remember why I fell in love with this game years ago.

    It’s simply extraordinary.

I know this is getting long when all I’m trying to say is “thanks” so: thank you. Thank you for making this game, this community, so special to me.

In all honesty, Warframe has always been (and will always be) the first gaming community I got into. It’s probably also one of the few games that got me really into videogames back when I was in highschool, meaning, it will always have a place in my heart and I don’t really have words to express how much I love this game…all I can say is thank you, thank you so much.

Kudos to all the developing team, to all the artists, to all the fan-content creators, to everyone here, for making Warframe what it is today. It doesn't matter if you joined two days ago, got the founders pack back when, haven't found the time to play (like it happened to me), thank you.

    This is adorable!

I immediately thought of Banshee when Octavia was revealed, and I thought the two would be cute. Love your artwork!

Aww thank you so much, both of you <3 <3

  14. After a long time I'm back to playing Warframe and of course first thing I did when I updated was start Octavia's Anthem.... and of course I grabbed my Banshee... and of course I fell in love with the idea of Banshee searching for Octavia...

I'm yet to end the quest but the words of Cephalon Suda sure got stuck in my mind...

    Spoiler

Suda: [...] Have you ever felt that way? A song that anchors a memory? How a melody or verse returns you to a place you thought forgotten?

I'm getting a bit of memorial vibe here - I hope I'm wrong? It's wonderful either way. :)

Also, do you think you might continue the comics around your operator at some point or did The Second Dream blow those away?

A bit since I currently only have Mag Prime and she's not my main anymore~

Second Dream kinda did not help me continue with it (I'm so sorry about it though, it had potential, I may revise it honestly) and got busy doing commissions and studying. If things go well I should be making something short for my winter reccess (around july).

    I mainly am studying RN so that takes a lot of time off my hands; also got in a small illustration project so that's one of my #1 art priorities these days ;w;

Be sure though, that if I work on something Warframe related the forums will be the first ones to know! I hope I can make some time for small things honestly, like the House Card Contest
