I got this exact same issue, as do some other people it seems. But unfortunately reading and cleaning inbox does not help, me at least. Though my console account was unused for a long time, so it very likely had unread inbox messages. Which I can't go back and clear any more. There is a thread bout this also in the general PC UI bugs. I'll link it here and vice versa for visibility.

No, checking each mail in inbox, marking all as read and emptying inbox does not help. This is likely because of the account merge, where my long inactive xbox account had unread messages in inbox. Those messages always show as unopened messages, even though mailbox would be empty. Still the inbox opens after every mission, every transition to hub/relay/orbiter and alt+tabout and back into game. By far the most annoying bug in this game so far. Not game breaking, but imagine getting stopped, swing to menu, open inbox and hear Ordis complain about unread mail ~50 times per day.

Still continues. Annoying inbox opens every single time after a mission or alt-tab to desktop.

I went and renewed my date with the shadow stalker, thanks nightwave for bringing up 3 assassinations again. At least Ordis stopped sending me decoration pictures of Lloid, now it's instead Alad V threatening me with assassins. Still the most annoying bug I have seen in my time playing. Every single time I load orbiter or a relay, Ordis has a oneliner about "You got mail!!!!"

I am having this exact same issue, except with an Ordis mail, it keeps sending me Lloid pictures I got from collecting grimoires on the webpage. I also did account merge, and likely had unread messages there. It's not going away after reading messages. Always says 2 unread mails and opens the Ordis mail every time I return to orbiter.

Note that it has 3 day resource booster. While I mostly wanted the cosmetics, I was delaying activating that code to the very last day so I could get some use of that booster. Guess that made me miss the giveaway then, if it is indeed limited. I only saw the news from Warframe, so there was no way of knowing...
