  1.

Someone finish this sentence in a way that is not silly sounding and I will be a believer...

"I was enjoying this game, until some guy in an Rhino warframe came along and ____________, and that ruined my game."

died trying to revive me,  (after 7.11 nerf)

I just felt the unstoppable urge to repost this. It has made my day. xD

  2. I've just tried out my Rhino with the new nerf and I must say I'm disappointed. The role of the Rhino was to take hits instead of allies, to be a tank. The only way to attract aggro efficiently is to go out into the open and be a favorable target. Right now without cover, you die really fast maybe a bit slower then other frames. So now to survive you have to go behind a wall take cover which means your allies take hits and you no longer can tank.

So give me one good reason why I should use Rhino instead of Loki for example with decoy and invisibility. The decoy survives really long and takes the aggro and while invisible you regen shields and take no DMG which is what Rhino used to do only now your allys are left out to die. Personally I think I won't be using Rhino anymore since it has no visible advantage anymore. If you think my comment is not constructive enough so be it but I'm not gonna go into game mechanics and details trying to find some positive points to Rhino right now while a simple fact remains:

I die all the time now trying to do some tanking while other frames have it easy staying behind.

  3. Why was down voting removed ? I taught it to be a good measure to know if people agree or disagree with what someone has said. To many down votes means people don't agree with what you just said it's as simple as that. I don't see why people have to interpret it as: THEY HATE ME !!! TROLLZ !!!

  4. Having the crafting option sure adds to the fun. I mean most of our gameplay now is centered around mod farming, resource farming or some alert. Meaning we are motivate to chose missions depending on our crafting goal. So in a sense it's nice the prices are high so that we can still experience that part of the game. On the other hand I have yet to see someone buying a weapon in one go instead of crafting it. I mean unless you have thousands of plat will you really consider wasting 200 of it on some item you can get in 1h of fun gameplay and 12h of waiting (the next day). This means that warframe is missing out on sales on weapons. And that's all I want to point out:

They could be making more money with lesser prices.

If not right away then why not drop prices with time ? As in make them really drop. Lets say half the price after a certain time (new weapons come out). Weapons around around 99 plat would sell a lot more.

  5. Playing certain really challenging missions Solo are fun and great to stat up your frame and weapons, but You are luckly to get a handful of Mods drop solo!

This game is designed around co op remember, and its really best played with the full ninja team of 4

But still there is little challenge. I mean a lot of people say that it's good they added failure penalty on loot and that it increased the difficulty but that's not true. They only increased mod farming time and not the game difficulty. It's still pretty easy to solo Pluto for exmple, in a group of 4 it's just a cakewalk. Defense missions are at this time the only challenge I've seen and that's because AIs focus on the pod very often. I would really like to see a survival mission with low resource drops where you just have to fight for your life.

  6. Guess the opinion is varied but I don't think warframe has a way of making you periodically spend plat except maybe the CR and affinity boosts which are well kind of dull. Also new content comes in fairly often but the real choice is narrow since most weapons are just skins with lower stats and don't offer any serious gameplay modifications like the glave. Also lets not forget that most people came here from steam and hence have (in most cases) a way of paying (saved in their steam account) whereas in other F2P games making the first purchase is always the hardest thing to do. What they should do is look at the people that own their game on steam and at the number of games / DLCs they own. This should give better numbers.

What I'm trying to say is that the equipment is just overpriced. Even if I was a big spender and I had like a big plat discount and the items cost was around 15$ instead of 20$, still I doubt everyone likes to collect all the skins. Also why not drop prices with time not just put something on a sale randomly for a meager discount. This would motivate other players to buy as well. Right now all of my friends I started off playing warframe have said that 200+ plat is way to much for items. I'm sure most of the people out there had the same reaction.

  7. Please do show us your sources because the current consensus is to go after Whales (the big heavy spenders) because they outweigh the rest of the spending population by a wide margin.

After a quick search on google:

"Depending on the game, a paying player is estimated to spend on average 5 - 30 dollars on games per month."

    http://www.uta.fi/english/news/item.html?id=75079

This is not the best source but I really don't have the sources from my last years university project on F2Ps. If I had more time, I bet I could also find nice charts with $ spending depending on age and geographical info.

  8. Look at the World of Tanks pricing scheme, they charge 80 bucks for a high level tank and they're arguably the highest grossing F2P game out there.

Also, Loki Exxy and Volt are all dirt cheap because they are(were) starting Warframes.

It's more around 20-30$ per tank (I played WOT for a while) and that can be compared to Warframes which I said could cost more, why not. The reason they are so lucrative is "pemium" (increases credits and xp income) and gold bullets (more dmg) ===> micro payments.

It's Beta. They can do math, but they need big numbers and buying trends to pinpoint exact prices for everything.

It's you who seem to think that pricing F2P items is easy as pie.

Only that F2Ps have existed for years now and the data is available in handy reports, pre processed with price ranges pretty much telling you: Hey guys if you make a F2P you should charge around 1-5$ per item not more !

If they are actually overpricing things with plat and making it "easy" to get with no money, then that's their way of making you invest your time instead of your money. The former is very much more important to them than the latter.

That's why I said they should fix a price range that will make people think, should I buy it now with plat or just play a bit longer and get it for free ? Because right now the choice is to easy.

  9. You know, there are games out there, good games, that cost 20$. So for all of you who say the system is fine charging you one item 20$, your argument is invalid... >_>

Also I don't see how I can ever take you founder guys seriusely in topics like this (really no offense meant). You just have thousands of plat and have spent hundreds of $ on the game. Clearly you don't fall into the "average player" group they should be aiming for.

  10. One thing I would like to know is why ALL the items on market cost so much plat ? The gorgon can be bought for 50k credits or 225 plant (10+$), braton 10k or 75 plat (4$), Paris 225 plat......... So the question is are you trying to force people not to buy your things with real money and so not earn anything ? Or do you like 3 digit numbers so much that most of the prices are 100+ ? Other theories that crossed my mind involved the staff and illegal substances so I shall refrain from saying anything more... ;)

I just don't get the logic behind your system. 10k or even 50k was not so hard for me to get at all (even before the credits boost) so why the hell would I spend 20$ on some weapons ? As a student if I work in an internship I earn around 20$ - 50% a day which is 7 hours of work while I can play for 2-3 hours, have fun and get more then enough for my item at the end of my session.

I both a 9$ pack of plat (170) meaning I decided to invest some money in the game but every time I'm tempted to spend some money I'm quickly turned down by the price which is either around 20$ for an item or 4$ for some skin/color. I've done a study on F2P games, on the whole industry and what gives the most profit and micro payments where the most lucrative solution. 9$ is kind of far away from micro. Your prices should all be around 50-100 plat not more except warframes that can go a bit higher...

The only price you managed to get right is for slots and orokins or even sentinels. I've spent 120 plat on slots and orokins without thinking to much about it whereas I don't think I'll be buying a glave anytime soon. I really doubt many people want to spend that much plat on weapons whereas if you lowered your prices you might get more income.

Also 50-100 plat is not just a random number. That would mean people would have to chose between farming a little while or just spend 3$ right away to get the item. The sentinel is a good example.

  11. The latest update added mod type sorting! Aside from the same sorting options we had before, we now have options to show All, or only Warframe, Primary, Secondary, Melee, or Sentinel mods, or only Fusion Cores. I'm sure the weapon fusion interface could still use work, though, and from what I can tell, the secondary sorting still isn't implemented as a priority list, so mods like Redirection (Warframe) and Redirection (Sentinel) are still mixed up. With the new type selection, though, this is only an issue when viewing all mod types.

    As I said here:

    - A noob mistake that was made on the interface and I'm gonna be a bit harsh on this one is the lack of secondary sort !!! The sorting should be done in this order: Name, Type, Rating. Meaning that once you sort my name, there needs to be a secondary sort on the type to separate sentinel and Warframe mods with same name and then also on the Rating so that mods with higher level stay on top. Right now the sorting is all done on one category and the rest is placed randomly on the window (or following some Mod_ID they have in their database). Of course, if we sort by rating, the secondary sort should be name and then type, if we sort my type we should then sort by name and at last by rating.

    Here are some examples:

They still haven't fixed this part.

  12. But are they randomly generated as you go ? Room by room ? I don't think it's really random at such an extent, probably everything is already generated at mission start (except maybe if a new objective is added). Getting at least some overview if only of the places that where visited would be nice... :/

  13. I was wondering, is there a reason why we don't have a map of the whole ship ? I mean story wise I don't see how someone that infiltrates a ship also knowing if sensors work or not and having access to so many consoles doesn't have a map just a small minimap ?

Unless there is an explicit reason (gameplay wise) why not to have it, could we have one ? It would save us a lot of trouble on the data unit hunting missions when not knowing if we should go up or down... or just if we get separated from the team just to know how far we still need to go (if we should run or take our time exploring for instance).

  14. Well not sure. You could still keep the same sorting code if you just changed the interface. I'm speculating it's the "brute" list of what the SQL request returns from the data base. If so, the fix would also be to just change the SQL a little bit adding more "SORT BY" or something (SQL is not my strong part). So it's good to point out that part still needs changing and why not fix it before implementing the new interface ?

I really hope mods and devs are keeping an eye on this thread... this design is REALLY what we need and the most logic approach there is (grouping, list view, search <3).

EDIT: as I have seen in some other threads, some people said we could use a "Custom" or "Favorites" tab / folder where we could put our own collection of mods. This could be nice for lets say in foundry after the little wrench where you put mods on your weapons / warframes. Maybe add it to the design if you have time ? :3

Another idea would be to also show currently equipped mods inside the mods page as well so we can do fusion or assign them to other weapons while they are equipped ! What I mean by that is the following:

    - Doing fusion on an already equipped mod will unequip it automatically from where it's currently equipped (no more unequipping before fusion). As a bonus it should be re-equipped if the cost < total mod points of the weapon / warframe.

    - In arsenal, assigning a mod to a weapon / warframe that is already equipped elsewhere will un-equip it from the old place and equipe it to the new.

The point in this being not having to un-equip mods every time when you want to upgrade them or transfer them to some other weapons / warframes and then going to mods page to search for them. Would save a lot of time.

  15. I was about to post a new thread about UI and looks like you beat me to it ! :D

I think you addressed most of the nasty things about the current UI and especially Search bar ! That would be the holy grail ! T_T

Let me add to your post by evoking some "bugs" that the current UI has:

    - In the arsenal where you assign mods to weapons (little wrench icon): In 1280x720 resolution you can't read the description of a mod. When you hover over it, the description gets "cropped" and you can only see the name and maybe 1st sentence of description. This problem is fixed in higher resolutions. Would be nice if it was visible in lower ones as well.

    - When fusing (button Fusion clicked) and then changing layout (clicking Name or Rarity) the fusion stops. Why ? Now I have to stay on same sort option to fuse whereas it would be easier to be able to switch from one to another.

@diji : some of the images (solar system) are down. Would be nice if we could see them ! :P
