Make sure UPnP is enabled on your router.

Some routers have NAT settings that can be changed from "strict" to "moderate" or so on.

Sometimes the ISP enforces Strict NAT.

Really the only thing you can do assuming UPnP is enabled is to forward the appropriate ports on your router, though this will only solve some problems cause by a Strict NAT (chat server and ability to join some games).

OP, be warned, when DMZ mode is enabled, there is no hardware firewall protecting your system. Also no other devices will be able to connect to the internet on your network.

Not quite, yes using DMZ you have to have a Good software firewall on your pc.  But DMZ does not block other pc's/laptops/tablet's from getting online.

The only issue it does raise if you have 2 or more accounts in your family and 2 or more want to play at the same time on your lan at home or where ever you play from, as each Warframe client has to use different ports to work online.
