Transmute Not Worth It At All

Ok, so I haven't really used the Transmute option too much, just tried it a few times with some low mods and thought "ok, getting common cards but thats ok since these are low anyway"

 

Just now I transmuted 4x Nyx Absorb mods (her 4th ability), paid the 36,000 credits for it and BOOM - heres my wonderful Mind Control (1st ability) mod.

 

I just paid 36,000 credits to turn 4 rare cards into a common card that sells for 200 credits. Well I guess ill never again be using this Transmute option.

Its useless and unfinished, you may get lucky but its bugged. I think they rushed it as there is no point in using it.

It's random, that's the whole point. I've fused 4 different mods only to get back one of the mods I just fused.

Getting Common out of 4 Rare's ?

 

Can't believe that sry, I convert as soon as I have 4 unused Rare Cards and never got Common nor Uncommon, it's always a Rare Mod.

If you put in 4 rares it should give you a 100% chance of getting another random rare. That would be the whole point of using it, giving you a chance to get something that you dont have. Otherwise, why would you even want to PAY for something that turns your cards into nothing when you could just as easily sell them off.

They really should fix us getting junk mods out of it. I've gotten good stuff and bad stuff. I've gotten anything from Mind Control to Heavy Impact and Cleanse Infested.

There is no sign saying you are guaranteed anything good. If you have ever been to a casino would you tell them the slot machine was broken after losing 6 times?

Putting 4 of the same rarity will guarantee that same rarity but it isn't always something you want.

If you keep getting bad modes stop using it and try again later?

I've gotten mods I never knew existed and super rare ones so it really is all luck.

finally got a Master Thief due to the transmute but all other transmutes after came out as commons

Can't say I've had any issues with it at all. Been transmuting 4 rare warframe skills - get a rare mod every time. Helped me to round out my collection quite a bit:

-Shock absorbers

-Seeking force

-Sure Footed

-Metal Auger

-(2nd) Master Thief

 

Other than that, I usually get a warframe ult card or something like barrel diffusion. Never gotten a non rare mod fusing 4 rare mods together (and I've done it at least 30 times)

Fused 20 rare cards, got 5 common cards out - just to prove that the rarity of the stuff you're transmuting doesn't affect the rarity of what you get out of it :P

Transmuting is meant to give players with millions of credits and hundreds of spare mods something to us them on.  Unless you have millions of credits and hundreds of spare mods it's not worth using.

My issue isnt that i got a card that i dont want, its that i put in 4 rare of the same rare cards (not something that comes by easily) paid tons of credits and got essentially robbed. 4 rares for a Mind Control isnt worth it regardless of how the random factor works in.

You really shouldn't be using rare mods for transmutaton. The results are completely random, so you should by trying to turn coal into gold, not gold into platinum

I've noticed that mixing up rare mods instead of using the same 4 yielded a rare mod for me most of the time. I used to always get a common mod fusing 4 rares.

The problem with the system is that its all RNG. transmuting should be an exact science, X cards give you Y results

nobody is going to use a system that is high risk and low reward.

After reading this thread I went and transmuted 12 rare warframe skill mods (2 of one kind and 2 of another -- 3 times), each and every time I got a rare mod in return. I haven't tried out 4 of the same rare warframe skill mod though..

You guys are doing it wrong your supposed to use 4 different rares not the same cuz ive gotten barrel diffusion master thief and others that way.

Seems as useful to me as the enchant in Diablo 3: one pays money gotten from farming to perhaps get something they would get by farming more.

I just tested it with for DIFFERENT rare mods, and it does appear to give a rare each time, however what you get is completely random, so its still not worth it

For someone who says they're trying to get rid of RNG as much as possible, this transmutation thing sure is an odd way of going about it.

 

Use mods of certain polarity and rarity in order to influence the chance of getting something useful. RNG bull all over.

 

Twice I got as a result a mod I actually just used in the transmutation and I will not use it again until it's either reworked or "fixed" - for a given value of those words.
