Massive GPU load when interacting with plant mist

When you get close and especially when you are inside the red mist this plant produces the game creates a massive GPU load. My game goes from 40% GPU load w/ 141 fps cap to 15 FPS with 100% GPU load.

Graphics settings maxed. 1440p.

This looks like the same problem I have, made worst with a slower NVidia GT 1030. This problem appears to only happen to clients, maybe if clients have too high of frame rate compared to host. I have not seen this problem on solo, or when I am host of white circle number 1. I checked this plant out in solo, and only a minimal amount of red smoke.
