Wholesome maps for story sake

Recommended Posts

While Warframe does use the ‘Multi-verse’ as a option to generate rooms for missions it can be big, small, or a mix of twists and turn we have yet to experience the rest of the terrain on different areas of the Star Chart. It has been a long standing concept to look at:

Why are we occasionally running from a open area to suddenly a room that puts us into orbit for extraction?

Where are these terraformed areas that we hear about in YT videos and read about in the Cephalon Fragments?

What other settlements are there than the ones we experienced?

If the Arcane Machine is sitting in the Derelict doing nothing than being a piece for 2 quests what else can we get out of this machine?

Lua has the access to the Empire age of Lua in the spy missions and quests; so there are other places that can produce time rifts and add to the quest lines.

Should we enter post era cities that were to exist under Grineer and Corpus control wouldn’t we unique open areas and tile sets to enter?

if the current outposts we can go to are there why is Deck 12 a copy of Fortuna’s design?

When we revisit tile sets does that mean speed run missions are in jeopardy for their utility?

When we do decide to get remastered tile sets will nodes be variants of the new areas or will they be limited to certain nodes based on the tilesets?

While we are getting a new Gas City in progress it helps to look at the long term on this. It is a lot to think about as several projects and it can amaze those who have wanted to be interested in the architecture of the environment again. The possibility to maximize the environments would be  a way to move explosive barrels and traps around.

Because making entirely new tilesets is hard and takes a very long time, and has diminishing returns. How often do people go to Lua or the Kuva Fortress before Kuva Survival which are some of our most recent tile sets? They need a hook to be worth going there.

Because gameplay. That's where the level ends.

*points to entirety of the solar system*.

You think Jupiter has Earthlike Gravity naturally?

According to ask-a-cephalon, the lore reason we don't visit settlements more often is because we try to avoid weapons of war interacting with civilians unless absolutely necessary. Warframes are weapons of war.

Real reason, because it's hard work for limited reward. Unless new gameplay comes from them, there's not much reason to develop them. If we do visit them, it'll probably be because of gameplay reasons first, like Glast Gambit's Myconians.

Good points, those might feature in future storylines.

Should isn't exactly a question for us. It's whether DE wants to make an area like that.

I'd be down for a vertically-focused open world using skyscrapers with multiple layers as combat areas, leaping between rooftops or zipping between towers in an archwing. Sounds awesome. It'd probably have to be abandoned of Civilians for various reasons, such as lore and performance though.

Because A: it's a part of Fortuna and B: because reusing assets makes game development quicker.

No? Earth's tileset's been revisited but you can still speedrun missions there.

No more than now. There probably will be rooms exclusive to certain nodes, but that'll be for mission design reasons.

They are implementing new gameplay with an environment focus, but this isn't Breath of the Wild. The environment-focus of the rework is to make the area more parkour and mobility focused by making the terrain (or lack thereof) more treacherous.

After the Earth rework and the current gas city remastery the other tile sets can use the revisit too, then if needed, Lua and the Kuva Fortress can use another look. So far the patching is done by chunks.
