New type of tenno vehicle: the MBS

We've all seen the Railjack trailer and how cool it looked to have a new kind of mission (or whatever it is going to be) where the tenno have to cooperate heavily among them while flying that big-ass ship. So why not take something like that to a smaller scale, meaning open worlds?

Introducing the Modular Battle Station:

This new vehicle will be available in your dojo as a research (and it will require a huge amount of mats, so be ready for a big farm).

The vehicle itself will be a sort of raknoid large enough to fit 4 warframes, being a pilot, 2 gunners and a commander. All inside the main body of the Battle Station, protected from enemy fire (to a degree).

It can walk, but it can also flight. While flying, it won't be able to use any of the features, however, moves way faster than walking (at a speed comparable to an archwing)

The MBS will work in a similar way than the Railjack, with some differences: it will have a HP/Shield bar, can be destroyed, but also repaired. Although that means one of the frames must leave the vehicle to repair it from the outside. And the process itself is not fast, so don't expect to do more than urgent reparations if you are under heavy fire.

To control it, the pilot will be the one guiding it, as you would expect from such name. Meanwhile, each gunner will shoot one of the weapons of the MBS (they are turrets installed in the upper part of the body that can turn 360º). Last, the commander will play a decissive role in the vehicle: They're the only one who can see the HP bar of the MBS, can decide how much power give to the weapons, the engines or the shields and can use the MBS core power . So make sure they're good at doing it because your life will be in their hands.

Now, why is it called "Modular"? Well, let's explain it:

  • Although all the MBS share the same body, what matters are the interiors of them. When you first build an MBS, you must equip it with the systems (already built) of an archwing. And depending on which one you install, your MBS will be completely different:
     
  • Installing an Odonata will provide an all-round core with average shields, hps, speed, and a Core Power that can deploy a power shield (similar to the odonata's) around the MBS. The shield will work as the odonata's or as volt's one, providing fire cover for 20 seconds with a cooldown of 1 minute. However, the shield is big enough to cover only one of the sides of the MBS, meaning the commander must choose if he wants the shield in front, left, right or back side of it.
     
  • The Amesha will provide a generous amount of shields to the MBS at the cost of lower hps and slightly lower speed. Its Core Power deploys a swarm of repair drones that repairs the MBS for 25% of its total health in 1 minute. With a cooldown of 5 minutes. To put it in perspective, a full team of 4 people repairing the MBS would take 5 minutes to fully repair it; 1 frame takes 12 seconds to repair 1% of the total HP of the MBS.
     
  • The Elytron systems will boost the HP of the MBS above the average while increasing the firepower of the weapons by 15%. However, it's the slowest of all, so the MBS will move slower than the Amesha. The Core Power launches an artillery barrage that deals a 4% of the enemy hp's in blast damage per projectile (it shoots 20) in a 40m radius area. It has a cooldown of 2 minutes.
     
  • Last, the Itzal, will provide the fastest speed but also the lowest hp and shield values. When you activate its Core Power, the MBS will become cloaked (even while moving) for 30 seconds. As with Ivara's prowl, firing a weapon will reveal your position for a brief period of time. The cloaking lasts for 30 seconds and has a cooldown of 1 minute.
     
  • Another part of the modular system is the weaponry. As I said, the MBS mounts 2 turrets. These turrets are equipped with 2 archguns (Yes, the spacial ones, not the atmospherics). The ones you equip are yours to decide. So you can equip a velocitus and a grattler, or two imperator vandal... It's up to you. They are also moddable, so build them as you like. And since they are mounted in a frigging Battle Station, they have batteries to supply power, so no ammo needed! Also, the commander can decide how much power give to the weaponry, so by doing it, they can decide the weapons damage output (from 10% to 200%) at the cost of speed and shields, which work also as percentages.
     

To avoid making it the new meta, there are some things that need to be taken into consideration (here come the nerfs):

  • The MBS cannot regenerate health. It can be repaired, but, as explained before, 1 person takes 12 seconds to repair 1% of the total HP bar. 4 people can fully repair it in 5 minutes. It takes this long because the MBS is powerful, but not invincible, so heading into battle as if you had the ultimate weapon will work for a while, but you will need the commander to think carefully how to employ the energy the core provides to direct efficiently the power to shields, or weapons or engines in case you need to escape. If the MBS is completely destroyed, you will have to wait 5 minutes to summon it again. In case you undeploy it, you will have to wait a cooldown of X seconds (considering the repair rate of 4 people, so if it's missing a 20% of the hp, it will take 1 minute to call it again).
     
  • Only one MBS can be summoned, and they all share the cooldown in case it is destroyed or undeployed. So you won't be able to inmediately summon another one from one of your team mates in case it is destroyed.

I'm sure this idea is not perfect, and will have it flaws, but what do you think of it? Is there anything you would add or remove? Would you liike to see something like this in game?
