There could be a mechanic that let's you combine/stack relics and as a result get better reward and harder enemies.

In detail: it could be in the same screen as the relic refinement. It could even cost the same resource, if that would make any sense.

Having 10 Lith M1 relics? Create a stack of up to 4. Get matched with players who do the same. At the end of the mission, select as many rewards as you stacked relics. Enemy level increases by 20 levels each stack. Or by a factor of 2 per stack, idk. That's fine tuning.
