NW's perfect captures needs VS standing available?

Last night my wife and I were trying to get the 6 perfect captures for the Nightwave challenge.

She ran out of standing (daily cap) before I did because of the difference in MR level. To be exact when we caught a 4th perfect one she got 0 standing.

It still registered for both of us at the 5th capture. However at the 6th one I had also reached my daily cap and there for the 6th one didn't register for either of us.

We tried a couple more times but each time, even although a perfect capture, it didn't count for the NW challenge. Even with leaving and re-enter the Vallis. Nothing we could do worked.

In the end we asked a mate (who had daily standing left with Vox Solaris) to join us. He had done the NW challenge the day before so he didn't need it anymore.

We did another perfect capture. Both my wife and I got 0 standing, he got standing points, and it registered for both of us as NW challenge completed.
