fps drops massively when alt tabbing or clicking onto my second monitor

i get a smooth 60fps before alt tabbing out of the game, but when i do it locks itself to 30fps and does not go back up until i restart the game.

this started to happen after i optimised my game cache.

system specs;

Windows 7 64 bit

AMD FX-6350 (3.9GHz)

16GB DDR3 Ram

NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1050ti

game is installed on a hard drive, but i do have a SSD installed on this device that i could attempt to switch to if possible.

edit - reran an optimisation, did not fix the problem. have also noticed that when i do alt tab my CPU goes absolutely mental and heats up a lot. currently trying a verify.

solved; verifying the game through the launcher has resolved it.

if anyone is experiencing the same try that.
