It is direct damage, it’s from the AoE blast of the chakkhurr that had hunter munitions, or the slash status of the AoE activated so the shot(s) itself triggered a slash but the actual slash procs (like when the target bleeds) are never not white numbers. Also slash bleeds don’t display the symbol either, only on the initial shot to indicate you gave them that status.
