Is there still a way to force finishers with Sparring weapons? I see they have 2 heavy animations.

Question

Charge attacks with Sparring weapons used to force finishers, one of their main uses.

Is there still a way to force finishers with Sparring weapons?
I see they have 2 heavy animations, if you spam it.

Edit: To clarify, using two heavy attacks in succession seems to launch two different heavy attacks; I don't think the second is just a normal combo that's trigger for some reason, it appears to be different.

I'm not sure as I haven't used a bunch of sparring weapons, but what from it seems on the other weapons there's now a dedicated mercy button (I have mine bound to X or down on the D-pad depending on what you're playing on) that only does finishers.

Thanks for the input, although I think that's something completely different.

As I understand it, if an enemy is damaged to less than 5% of their starting health and you are close, then they will have the icon for a mercy kill and doing so is an instant kill, taken from the old covert_lethality and may trigger effects based on the mods equipped on the new Parazon.

Beyond that there are 3-4 types of finishers, depending on weapon specifics: ground, stealth, front and in some cases back finishers.
All have different global multipliers for each weapon class and the last 3 ignore armour and health modifiers, by dealing true damage.

It used to be that the charge attack for the sparring weapon stances would force a knockdown and a multi-hit ground finisher, with an extra 300% damage from the stance, that would greatly multiply combo and synergised well with Condition overload (2 procs on the 1st hit), but, now that charge attacks have been replaced, I don't know if there's anyway to trigger this mechanic.
