How To Implement Story/lore In A Win-Win Scenario For De And Players. (Tldr Included)

Yep there are suggestions for things like this but as was mentioned earlier in the topic we have a matter of resources and time to address.  Also, it would be good to establish a foundation - do the quick and easy solution here to set the tables for something big like cells and a dynamic war down the road.

This is actually by far the most time efficient thing for DE to set up. Actually far faster then having to write any real lore. They already have the code base for dynamically alerting missions in the Alert and Nightmare missions. Just link their appearance to a different DB instead of the random timers those two use. They already track kill counts. They need to create a way to opt out Nightmare missions as it stands, which would double for opting out Campaign missions. They barely have to write any real story with lots of repeated short barely justifiable explanations (example: tag team of Vor and Krill. Why? Because.). Reuse of assets and boss fight missions from Jackal to Phorid and even Red Armor Vor with a set of randomized names. Put up some % controlled counters and some other running stats, and they can keep us occupied for up to three to four months of season one. While we running trying to troll the state of the solar system (for those people not opting out) DE is free to actually write and implement initial lore.

Of S#&$s and giggles they can randomly throw in old event missions. Again, reuse of existing assets.

In terms of text, like the Alert messages maybe 30 two or three sentence paragraphs of nonsense (10 per faction).

That's not even remotely close the number of people that play lol the game doesn't even top 20k users during prime times - the attrition rate is atrocious in this game.  Also, it's unheard of to relate the number of IRL people to ongoing lore in a game - something like that is far too unstable/unpredictable to base any real lore off of.

However if you use it as the Top end of Tenno population it puts things a bit more into perspective. Even if there were 1 billion accounts on Warframe.com that still would a drop in the buck to the population of Terra in game, let alone the whole Gineer empire. You also have to keep in mind that any kind of population has non-combat support members. Take every inactive account and put that into the 'civilian/support' category.

To your last point EVE Online basically does this. Each 'account' on their system is can be basically 3 Capsuleers in their world. So it's not unheard of.

Yeah....but that's not story / lore which people have been asking for.  Your idea is to do lore without writing lore?  Eh no ty I'm all set.   You basically want us to just do what we already do with no reason to actually do it other than some meta map that represents balance of power?  Why do I hate the grineer? What do I care about the corpus? Whats the deal with the infested and if they were so strong in the past why haven't they taken over yet, what happened to them?  People want to care about what happens, they want attachment to the game not just steam rolling for steam rollings sake, that's literally senseless :(

You can't tell me people are really going to care about some aggregate kill meter....you're just talking about plugging events into the alert meter basically but most people only do events for the rewards they don't really care about the meter at all.

Not sure about the EVE thing as I haven't played in a long time but I DO know that the game has a metric crap ton of non player driven lore and does player driven stuff with most every update but it's generally an aside.  Everybody knows the real stories in EVE are those made by player corps and that's not really applicable to this game.

Also, given our KD ratios the grineer should probably be extinct by now lol

The point is DE isn't writing Lore and seems very loath to actually do so. We are one month out from the PS4 and not even dribbles of backstory. What better way to ease them into the idea of actual story then by not forcing them to write a story at all. They can keep going with their very spotty non-story as currently personified with 'weekend' events.

With EVE the real stories of are the player driven ones. It is what keeps that game going. CCP could mostly drop their 1st party story and keep things rolling. In Warframe the only way to do a similar thing is give players something to tug of war over, since we can't fight directly it has to be over messing with the balance of power between NPC factions.

As to Grineer deaths, can we say clones? The only faction would be in attrition trouble is Corpus, but that's an excuse to just deploy even more robots and less human crew.

We don't have anything remotely resembling the tools we'd need in this game to emulate what eve does any successful fashion plain and simple - it's out of the question.

The only reason DE SEEMS loath is because they don't have any darn writers and they need to buck up and hire one.  Nobody there knows how to obviously, they even admitted quite some time ago that they were literally just making crap up as they went along with no rhyme or reason bc they didn't think people would care ( big mistake ).   It's not about easing them into it, it's something they need man up and do end of story.  Also this isn't eve and it'll never be eve, that kind of player on player interaction simply isn't possible in this game engine sorry.  If you want to go backstab people and do all that dirty eve stuff then by all means go play eve but there's no place for it in WF.

I like the idea that we are tenno and somehow the frames belong to us. How that is achieved is DE's job to tell us.

A lore that explains what exactly are the frames, are they bio-technological !?

A lore that explains what exactly are the   tenno, are they humanoid beings !?

I like lore and would be happy to see what universe DE has brought us.

That's the idea; make a thread with an idea, get a bunch of up votes, bring it to DE"s attention, hope they implement something (it'll ofc be nothing remotely similar to the thread but any story is better than what we have now)

Agreed +1. They do read these forums. They're a bit quiet...but they're here.
