When Bad Choices Kill Challenges

Hey guys :)

I think a lot of people will disagree with this thread, but it was in my mind for a few days now, and I feel the need to post it.

I'd like to point out some choices DE made that kind of killed a large part of the challenge you can find in this game for me. Feel free to add yours if you feel the same.

It all started with the Survival Weekend when I got my Strun Wraith. After getting it, a large part of this game became surprisingly easy. I just had to go through rooms, getting close to the mobs, and one shot everything. My Solar System wasn't complete, and I wasn't playing too much in high levels. But since I managed to make easily a 52min run, I can assume that a large part of the players who took part in this weekend got it. I just can't imagine how easy this game became for newbies who got their Strun Wraith because they managed to find a team who escorted them to the 20 mins cap (which was ridiculously easy to reach).

For a lot of missions, Strun Wraith being a shotgun wasn't appropriate enough as I had to take covers and shoot from distance to survive. And then came Soma, with no mastery lock first. Well, I was already mastery 4 I think, so even with the Mastery 3 lock I would have got it anyway. But once this riffle in my arsenal, I was able to wipe out large crowds in a few secs even in high level. And so everything became way easier while, again, my Solar System wasn't complete. I already got an endgame weapon while I was not in a clan, not ready to get clan tech weapons that are supposed to be the endgame stuff.

And today... with the new update, I completed my Mag Prime in one run in Survival T3, and my Nova in 2 runs. I got some corrupted mods that will give me more power (with a form of negative effects, but we can manage to deal with them). We will now be able to wipe out crowds even faster, kill bosses even faster, so seriously what content are they meant for? Is it just to kill all the fun? To reach really high endless defense levels that requires at least to reach wave 30 to finally have some form of challenge? I don't know...

Ok, I'm soon Mastery 7 now, so my endgame is here, and there's no challenge anymore. But all the challenge in this game stopped at Mastery 4 for me, just because I was able to got those high level weapons too soon. And now I just log in everyday, make a few runs, and stop playing. Well, except for today with the new content added. And I can't imagine how fast this high level has been reached by newbies.

There's no special point in this thread, just me saying that unbalanced choices lead to this situation. I'm still challenging myself now and then, starting a new frame, playing with low level weapons etc. But yeah now that I can get every frame in a few runs, even this purpose is no longer present for me.

That's pretty much all I had to say.

I dont know what DE is thinking, maybe they are just testing us.

I also agree that a lot of things are broken and need to be fixed.

Those new OP weaps need to get higher Mastery requirement.

And please stop releasing new weapons every month they are other who need balance.

Ill keep some faith in DE and hope that they know what they are doing.

I agree with your point about the content.

Higher mastery requirement just provide the weapon to kill all the challenge you could find in this game. Having a Strun Wraith or a Soma when you just played the game for like 20-30 hours will make everything just too easy.

I also forget the survival missions where it's farm fest. Since the survival event and the implementation of survival missions I never had any problem crafting a weapon or a frame part in this game. I could start my own clan right now. And also the period when forma were raining in T3.

yes, there's been something itching me for a while, and the corrupted mods finally opened my eyes that warframe heavily suffers from power creep. i've seen this development on other titles in the past and fled, because it makes the best games just unattractive.

i only regret having spent real money for this malformed shadow of a former brilliant game.

The problem is that you can get all those things just too soon and that there's no content ready for them.

Newbies can now rush the game and get almost everything (except a couple of mods) by being escorted by mature players. We have two systems that can measure your power : Conclave points and the Mastery rank. How come those are not used to lock more content?

It's an online almost MMO game, which means it is meant to be played during a long period.

I'd like to see a "Dark Sector" added outside of the Sol system.

Think alert missions, but with different rewards, 5-6 missions up at all times and enemies starting from level 100.

I'd also like to see said said enemies use powers etc against us. Not the same exact ones, but variants of them.

It'd add a good end-game challenge as well as some more interesting content

That would be actually cool if some Grineers had the opportunity to study our powers and develop their owns with Orokin tech, used by some sort of special units.

Well some units already do. In said location I'd stick bosses in as ultra-heavy units.

Timed survival (stay alive for X waves then extract) against level 120 Corpus with a Jackal and 3 Hyenas thrown into the mix would be epic.
