TheAscendedOne Posted October 22, 2013 Share Posted October 22, 2013 To increase variety in all gun types (rifle, pistol, sniper rifle, and shotgun), I would suggest creating a series of guns that follow unique shatter patterns for customized AoE styles. "Shatter shells" would spray shrapnel upon hitting a foe or surface, hitting foes in a specific area around that location. These guns would introduce variety in the following: 1. Percentage of regular -> AoE damage. One gun may sport 100% conversion, while another might possess stronger direct hits and weaker splashes, and a third might sport weak direct hits with devastating splash damage. 2. AoE size. 3. AoE pattern. One gun may spray V-shaped shrapnel behind struck foes while another would spray shrapnel into the air, devastating ospreys and foes on higher ground. Examples Vulcan Grineer research equivalent to the Latron. When bullets collide with a foe, shrapnel splits in two directions behind them, forming a "V" pattern. Target's struck by shrapnel take dramatically-increased damage (the original target is not struck by shrapnel). Echidna/Dual Echidna This/these Infested research pistol(s) fill the foe with needles that explode after a delay, spreading miniature needles in a radial area around them, hitting other foes in all directions for reduced damage. Icarus Punish your foes for flying too high! This Corpus research rifle fires a round of explosive plasma into the ground that explodes after a brief delay, spraying devastating plasma bolts into the air, decimating aerial foes. This has vertical falloff damage - the plasma bolts become progressively weaker as they fall to the ground - dealing minor damage to foes on low ground. ALL.CAPS.GUY Posted October 22, 2013 Share Posted October 22, 2013 splash dmg :D more options are almost always welcome, assuming they're at least half decent ideas lol. these are pretty good tho. some time ago i noticed grenades were in my profile under weps.. somewhere... we have none (would be a nice addition, say in the equipment slots "Q") and while we're at it, why not mortar launchers?
