Deimos Animal Captures - capturing less than what was tranq'd

Not really sure how many others have noticed this, but my partner and I have been noticing that we fly around Deimos doing animal captures, and when we see 3 of any animal together, by the time we get onto the ground to collect the animal, there are only 2 available.

This has been reoccurring since last week.  Just now, I tranq'd 3 green velocipods, made sure there were exactly 3 that were tranq'd and laying there, but as I landed and approached the capture, there were only 2.

I was playing as Friends Only since I don't like farming with distractions, but I also didn't take a pic because a picture can't prove anything for this.
