Muralist Cernos elemental damage bugs

  • REPRODUCTION: open arsenal, With a clean Muralist Cernos, damage values are: I: 369 P: 20.5 S: 20.5 Toxin: 5
  • Equip RIME ROUNDS in last slot:. Damage now includes Viral: 8, Cold: 246
  • Equip Thermite Rounds + High Voltage.  Damage now Radiation: 6, Viral 8, Cold 246
  • EXPECTED RESULT: With Rime Rounds, Expected 5 toxin to turn into 249 Viral.  With Radiation 60/60's equipped and rime rounds equipped expected Radiation 498, 249 viral.
  • OBSERVED RESULT: see reproduction.
  • REPRODUCTION RATE: 100%, asked region chat, other player replicated.

The Mutalist  Cernos has two damage components, direct arrow impact (which deals 369 impact damage, 20.5 puncture damage, and 20.5 slash damage when fully charged) and lingering toxin cloud (which deals 5 toxin damage per second, having 11 ticks and lasting for 10 seconds). The first part of your result is normal. It may looks like a bug, but that's because DE haven't list the toxin cloud as a separate instance and the arsenal UI mixed two damage components together.

 

With Rime Rounds equipped, the direct arrow impact deals 369 impact damage, 20.5 puncture damage, 20.5 slash damage, and 246 cold damage when fully charged. The lingering toxin cloud deals 8 viral damage per second. When combined, it's 369 impact damage, 20.5 puncture damage, 20.5 slash damage, 246 cold damage, and 8 viral damage. Same as your result, but it's actually functioning correctly. If you mod for Rime Rounds and Punchthrough (so as to hit the enemy with the arrow only), you will find out that the arrow only procs three physical damage and cold. Other weapons that have lingering toxin cloud (pox and torid, etc.) also work like this.

 

As for the second part of your result, there's indeed a visual bug. Looks like if the arrow and toxin cloud have the same elemental damage (by equipping toxin damage mod alone or two different type elemental damage mods), the arsenal UI will only show the elemental damage of toxin cloud part. With Thermite Rounds and High Voltage equipped, the direct arrow impact should deal 369 impact damage, 20.5 puncture damage, 20.5 slash damage, and 492 radiation damage when fully charged. The lingering toxin cloud should deal  6 radiation damage and 5 toxin damage per second. However, the arsenal will only show 369 impact damage, 20.5 puncture damage, 20.5 slash damage, and 6 radiation damage. The actual function of the bow is working as expected , though. The arrow can proc three physical damage and radiation damage, and the damage numbers are correct.
