Riven mod question

OK, I just got my first riven mod. It is a pistol riven mod. The description says, "Find 2 caches without an ally being downed." The question is, is my sentinel or my kubrow pet or specter count as an ally? Or must I play a mission with another human player during a sabotage mission?

I prefer to play solo, so I hope someone here can shed some light into this.

Companions don't count, but either way its not necessary for anyone/anything to be there with you. All you need for you yourself to not die.

little trick: if you don't have any allies, they won't die.

Note: You are your own ally, so don't die either.
