(PSN)gbravery1972
I've been running the Distilling Extractor Prime on Zariman, Deimos and Saturn for quite a while - and the drops never match my expectations of randomness. However, that was subjective - I've never logged them to try to confirm things, but it always felt like I obtained far more Voidgel Orb, Mutagen Samples and Detonite Ampules. I decided about a week ago to track what I was seeing, which is in this table: Date Zariman Deimos Saturn 03/10/2022 12xVoidgel Orb 8xOrokin Cell 12xDetonite Ampule 03/10/2022 12xVoidgel Orb 12xMutagen Sample 12xDetonite Ampule 04/10/2022 1502xFerrite 12xMutagen Sample 2916xNano Spores 04/10/2022 1502xFerrite 12xMutagen Sample 2916xNano Spores 05/10/2022 2358xAlloy Plate 12xMutagen Sample 2882xNano Spores 05/10/2022 1186xFerrite 12xMutagen Sample 12xDetonite Ampule 06/10/2022 810xFerrite 12xMutagen Sample 12xDetonite Ampule 06/10/2022 12xVoidgel Orb 12xMutagen Sample 2692xNano Spores 07/10/2022 12xVoidgel Orb 2812xNano Spores 12xDetonite Ampule 07/10/2022 12xVoidgel Orb 12xMutagen Sample 12xDetonite Ampule 08/10/2022 12xVoidgel Orb 12xMutagen Sample 12xDetonite Ampule 08/10/2022 12xVoidgel Orb 12xMutagen Sample 12xDetonite Ampule 09/10/2022 12xVoidgel Orb 12xMutagen Sample 2946xNano Spores 09/10/2022 2088xAlloy Plate 8xOrokin Cell 12xDetonite Ampule 10/10/2022 12xVoidgel Orb 2438xNano Spores 12xDetonite Ampule 10/10/2022 12xVoidgel Orb 12xMutagen Sample 12xDetonite Ampule Obviously, this is a small sample period (16 collections), but currently the data does seem to show a weird skew. Planet 1 2 3 4 Total Excavations Type 1 Type 2 Type 3 Type 4 Zariman 4 2 10 0 16 25% 13% 63% 0% Deimos 2 12 2 0 16 13% 75% 13% 0% Saturn 5 0 0 11 16 31% 0% 0% 69% 63% of my Zariman drops appear to be Voidgel Orbs 75% of my Deimos drops appear to be Mutagen Samples 69% of my Saturn drops appear to be Detonite Ampules Of these, Deimos looks most accurate, with a skew towards the type 2 I'd expect. Saturn looks the most incorrect, although the Zariman also doesn't look right. FWIW, some of this is based on "Resource Rarity Rates" listed here:https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Extractor With the common, uncommon, rare distribution based on this:https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Resources#Resources_By_Planet As such, I'm not sure if this is a bug - or something else (misunderstanding the drop categories and probabilities). I see a lot of "rarest" resources (Detonite, Mutagen and Voidgel) and what I'd expect (e.g. Orokin Cells, Neurodes, Plastids) aren't listed as rare seem to have a lower scarcity than "rare" - which doesn't make sense. Either way, I thought I would try logging a ticket to see what was going on! Thanks in advance.
(PSN)gbravery1972
So having run this for a while now, I don’t think this is a “bug”, it’s more related to what is rare and what isn’t, and how it is documented. Planet 1 2 3 4 Total Excavations Type 1 Type 2 Type 3 Type 4 Zariman 11 13 40 2 66 17% 20% 61% 3% Deimos 11 49 4 2 66 17% 74% 6% 3% Saturn 9 9 1 46 65 14% 14% 2% 71% It looks like the Research Resources override the Uncommon Resource rates benefit of the Distilling Extractor Prime. Or maybe these are mis-documented on the Fandom Wiki. Either way, I suspect I need to take my empirical data there!
