Hitting gravid blastema with fishing spear disables controls

Using a fishing spear on a gravid blastema in the Cambion Drift will cause loss of function of movement and weapon controls, use of the gear wheel, Transferrence, etc. and not award any pustulites. The only things still available are aim and the menu, though being downed will fix the problem.

So far, I have not experienced this while hitting a gravid blastema still hanging, they will be pulled down and broken as usual. Only those unbroken on the ground will create the problem.

The bug has been present for some time, though I have only recently noticed the pattern and intentionally recreated it.
