From the Void the rejected came... those who survived the void and became what is now known as Tenno. But what happened to those who didn't? Did they... die? Or something... more? Those who did not survive... those who did not leave as Tenno... They... Became the Void phantoms. Beings of mysterious energy. If that is what they are. Destroyed was their flesh, and their soul became one with the void. Becoming a new being. These Void Phantoms linger in the true void... Not the Orokin Towers, and not the Corpus ships that enter in and out of the void. The very void itself... These are the fiends the Orokin feared so much they proofed their ship so they couldn't come in. What if there was a breach? What if there was a reason the Tenno had to return to the place that made them Tenno? Face the Phantoms that seek vengeance. Face the Phantoms they abandoned. Maybe some of these phantoms could be willing to speak with the Tenno, but most of them out of the feeling of abandonment feel only hatred for the Tenno who abandoned them there. They seek vengeance tirelessly waiting the day the Tenno would return. To see their revenge. There is also the chance the Void Phantoms may possess those who enter the void, and walk amongst the Corpus, or grineer. When a Tenno smites this vessel the Phantom arises and begins attacking violently upon the Tenno. There true form could be veiled, it could be a swirling energy in the form of a humanoid. Despite the fact that Warframe abilities are more or less magic? Hell, any science that has become so advanced as to be indistinguishable from miracle is considered magic. Have you gone into Excalibur's codex and read the lore? Humans go to void Void distorts them They come out with unimaginable powers and considered Warrior-Gods... Magic? Yep... all magic...
