Locked out of PC account after cross platforming saving with PS5

I only play on the PC.

After enabling cross platform and logging into the PS5 to try it out, I am now unable to log into my account on the PC at all. My original email and password doesn't work even after I changed the password multiple times. I can now only access the website/mobile app by logging in through the PS5 Sony account. It has been like this for the past 3 days and no one on discord, player support, or even in-game (accessed via PS5) has an answer. 

Trying to log into the PC now tells me there is no account tied to my original PC email account. Logging into the website to try to change my email doesn't send me the required verification code. 

Why is my entire PC account deleted and now only accessible via PS5?
