Warframe Concept: Tsuru - The Origami Master

Hi, I was thinking about this new Warframe and I wanted to share it. It is a Warframe with abilities based on paper and origami. He doesn't have Shields or Armor and his Health is just average. However, he has greater speed and a passive ability excellent for his survivability. Instead of having regeneration or healing (Nidus, Inaros, Kullervo), preventing death (Nidus, Inaros), or damage reduction (Nidus) he instead prevents damage.

Upgrades

Cita

Tsuru gains +10 maximum Health every 3 levels starting at 1st level (as normal).
Tsuru gains +10 Energy capacity every 3 levels starting at 3rd level (as normal for any warframe with 200 base energy or higher).
Tsuru gains +0.02 Movement Speed every 6 levels starting at 2nd level (something special from him, similar to Nidus).
Tsuru gains +5 layers capacity for his Paper Armor passive every 6 levels starting at 6th leel (something special from him, similar to Nidus).

Abilities

Passive: Paper Armor

Cita

Tsuru can store layers of paper. He can store 25 layers at 1st level and 50 layers at 30th level. While not having Overguard nor being invulnerable, each time he would take damage he instead consumes one layer of paper and prevents that damage.
Armor mods increase the maximum layers capacity, but abilities that increase armor doesn't, even if they would normally be additive to armor mods such as Vex Armor or Elemental Ward (cold).
Abilities regain and/or consume layer papers. Health Orbs regain 5 layer papers.
Each time Tsuru consumes a layer paper (cause of his abilities or cause he prevented damage), he loses 1 HP. Each time Tsuru gain a layer paper (cause of his abilities) he regains 1 hit point.

Nullifier Crewman drains 2 paper layer every second.

Be aware that under heavy fire (multiple enemies or enemies that attack very fast) Tsuru will consume all his paper layers very fast.

1st Ability: Kirigami (alternative name: Paper Cut)

Explanation
Tsuru consumes 25 energy [affected by Ability Efficiency] and create a thin slashing wave (kind of as the light energy waves of the Exalted Blade), dealing 75|100|125|150 Slash Damage [x Ability Strength] for each paper layer he has stored to each enemy in a 13|17|21|25m [x Ability Range] x 3m [x Ability Range] zone. This attack guarantees a slash proc. Affected enemies lose 20|30|40|50% [x Ability Strength] of their armor for 3|4|5|6s [x Ability Duration]. Tsuru regains 1 paper layer for each enemy hit.
This attack has 0% Critical Chance and x3 Critical Damage Multiplier.

This is a one-handed ability. This ability count as a Damage Type and Buff & Debuff type and so it is disabled by the Sap Comba and Nul Comba.

As a Subsumable Ability (Helminth)
This ability considers that you always have 10 paper layers (that means: 750|1000|1250|1500 Slash damage) and obviously won't give you any paper layer for each enemy hit.
Comparing with Styanax's Tharros Strike:

  • Higher damage with guaranted bleed.
  • Doesn't heal you.
  • Long line shape instead of short cone shape.
  • Doesn't stun.
  • Doesn't open enemy to finishers.
  • The defenses reduction only last for a short duration instead of being permanent.
  • Recasting refresh the defenses reduction duration instead of stacking it, forcing you to have 200% Ability Strength if you want to remove 100%.

2nd Ability: Origami (alternative name: Paper Craft)

Explanation
Tap to cycle through four modes. Hold to consume 1 paper layer and 50 energy [affected by Ability Efficiency] and activate an ability:
1º Plane
Transform into a paper plane for 4|6|8|10s [x Ability Duration]. You move similar to an arrow controled by Ivara's Navigator. You are invulnerable for the duration and unalerted enemies won't detect you. You can pierce enemies, dealing 30|45|60|75 Slash damage [x Ability Strength] for each paper layer you have, and you gaining 1 paper layer for each enemy you pierce. Reactivate the ability or perform a dodge to end it earlier.
The damage has 0% Critical Chance and x3 Critical Damage Multiplier.
This is a two-handed ability. This ability count as a Damage Type and Mobility type and so it is disabled by the sap Slo and Nul Comba.
2º Crane
Summon a paper rane to fight in your side for 15|20|25|30s [x Ability Duration]. You can have up to 3 at the same time. They have 400|600|800|1000 Health [x Ability Strength] for each paper layer you have. Mods that increase Health and Shields increase the crane's health. They can only attack enemies with melee, dealing 400|600|800|1000 Slash damage [x Ability Strength]. Their attacks guarantees Slash proct. Each time they hit an enemy, you regain 1 paper layer.
Crane's attacks have 0% Critical Chance and x3 Critical Damage Multiplier.
This is a one-handed ability. This ability count as a Damage Type so it is disabled by the Sap Comba.
3º Lotus Flower
Deploy a lotus flower made of paper for 15|20|25|30s [x Ability Duration]. You can have up to 2 at the same time. Enemies within 9|11|13|15m [x Ability Range] from the flower have a 20|30|40|50% [x Ability Strength] (capped at 100%) chance to be afflicted by a Slash proc every time they take damage, and they have the same chance of dropping a Health Orb on death.
This is a one-handed ability. This ability count as a Buff & Debuff Type so it is disabled by the Nul Comba.
4º Fortune Teller
Craft a fortune teller made of paper which bestows a random bonus for all allies within affinity range for 15|20|25|30s [x Ability Duration]. The bonus can be +100% resources, +100% affinity or +100% credits. This bonus changes to another one (randomly) if you recast this ability and every time 25 enemies within affinity range die.
This is a one-handed ability. This ability count as a Buff & Debuff Type so it is disabled by the Nul Comba.

As a Tactical Ability (Railjack)
It will only activate Lotus Flower.

Alternative Subsumable Ability (Helminth)
Kirigami doesn't give something new to the Helminth enviroment as it is quite similar to Styanax's Tharros Strike, therefore this ability could be the one subsumable. In that case, tapping would trigger Plane while holding would trigger Lotus Flower. Obviously, it wouldn't cost or regain any paper layer.

 

3rd Ability: Kusudama (alternative name: Folded Paper)

Explanation
You consume 50 energy [x Ability Efficiency] and 10 paper layers to create a storm. Holding this ability will consume an additional 20/s paper layers while you hold it. The storm makes every enemy within 9|11|13|15m [x Ability Range] take 100|150|200|250 Slash damage [x Ability Strength] every second for each paper layer consumed for 2.5|3|3.5|4s [x Ability Duration]. This guarantees Slash status procs and applies Staggers every second. When the ability ends, the paper comes back to you granting you 10|15|20|25 Overguard [x Ability Strength] for each paper layer consumed for each enemy damaged for every second damaged, up to 15000 Overguard [x Ability Strength]. For example, 10 paper layers, 5 enemies damaged four 4 ticks (4 seconds each) would give you 1250 Overguard.
The damage has 0% Critical Chance and x3 Critical Damage Multiplier.

Synergies:

  • Orgirami's Crane are healed by 100|150|200|250 Health [x Ability Strength] every second for each paper layer consumed .

4th Ability: Habani (alternative name: Paper Pyra)

Explanation
Consume 35 energy [affected by Ability Efficiency] and immolates yourself, taking 33 damage every 0.33s [affected inversely by Ability Efficiency and Ability Duration]. The ability last until your health is reduced to 2 HP or you recast the ability. While active, every time an enemy attacks you it is blinded for 1|2|3|4s [x Ability Duration] and enemies within 5m [x Ability Range] take 2001300|400|500/s Heat damage [x Ability Strength] every second + 100 Heat damage [x Ability Strength] for each second this ability stays activated.
Normally, you will lose 100 Overguard every second as this ability damages you, but in case you don't have Overguard (maybe you didn't used Kusudama), you would consume 3 paper layers every second as this self-damage is made in 3 ticks per second.
The damage has 0% Critical Chance and x3 Critical Damage Multiplier.

This is a two-handed ability. This ability count as a Damage and Buff & Debuff Type so it is disabled by the Sap Comba and Nul Comba. Desactivating the ability is one-handed.

Synergies:

  • Kirigami gains a +100% Heat damage bonus with guarantes proc.
  • Origami's Plane gains a +100% Heat damage bonus with guarantes proc.
  • Origami's Crane gains a +100% Heat damage bonus with guarantes proc.
  • Origami's Lotus Flower makes attacks against enemies in range have a +50% Critical Chance [x Ability Streght] (additive after mods) (capped at 100%).
  • Kusudama gains a +100% Heat damage bonus with guarantes proc.

White Armor (Passive)
Maximum number of paper layers x0.8|0.7|0.6|0.5.
After consuming a paper layer, Tsuru becomes invulnerable for 0.1|0.1.5|0.2|0.25s.

Cita

Reduces the maximum number of paper layers he can store but grants invulnerability each time they are consumed, making him be able to resist better under heavy fire.

Sharp Blade (Kirigami)
Gain +10|15|20|25% [x Ability Strength] Critical Damage for each enemy hit for 4|6|8|10s [x Ability Duration].

Cita

The critical damage bonus is additive to mods and also applies to warframe abilities. Each time it is casted the bonus stacks and refreshes its duration, up to +250% bonus.

Fugitive & Fortuitous (Origami)
Plane can move through lasers and cameras undetected while Lotus Flower has a 100% [x Ability Strength] chance to spawn an Energy Orb every 15|12|9|6 kills.

Cita

Similar to Ivara's Infiltrate, you can now move through lasers.
The enegy orb is spawned at the center of the ability (in the flower lotus deployable). The enemies killed must die within the lotus radius.

Precise & Protected (Origami)
Fortune Teller's bonus no longer switches over time and Cranes gain 100|200|300|400 [x Ability Strength] armor.

Cita

No longer switching every 25 kills allows you to easely select which one you want to keep.
The bonus armor makes the Cranes much more durable.

Masquerade (Kusudama)
Allies within range also gain 10|15|20|25 Overguard for each enemy damaged.

Cita

The math for the Overguard is exactly the same as the math used for Tsuru to gain his own Overguard using Kusudama. That means it applies per enemy damaged, per second damaged, per layer consumed.

Fiery Fire (Hanabi)
Gain +10|15|20|25% [x Ability Strength] Fire damage to your weapon attacks for every second active up to +100|150|200|250% bonus.

Cita

It can combine with your weapon damage types.
