Void Fissure missions unequipping relics at times

Sometimes when running Void Fissure missions, relics are unequipped when entering the mission meaning you don't get a reward at the end.

This has happened to me several times now when playing with randoms, and to other players too.

It appears to happen when the host for the mission starts from their Dojo (and possibly also from a relay?) and other randoms join the host during matchmaking.

I've had it happen to me when I've joined randoms and the host started the mission in their dojo.

I've seen it happen to all players who joined me (once I was loading into the mission, so I was the host) when I started the mission from my dojo. I was the only one with a relic reward at the end of the mission.

So this seems to be the issue - host starting from their dojo (and possibly relay?) can cause other random joininers during matchmaking to have their relics unequipped.
