Sulligy Posted 17 hours ago Share Posted 17 hours ago I have every single item in the game, including all prime access items (sans founders pack). Prior to Koumei and the Five Fates update, my entire arsenal was color-coordinated, and I took great care to get my metallic accents as consistent as possible across all my items. This can sometimes be difficult due to the item's texture having tinting built-in, such as with cephalon-themed items. Sometimes, like in the case with the Jindou Prime Syandana or the Zhuge Prime gun, the metallics are extremely desaturated and require a more saturated color to be used than what I normally would. The most recent update has changed the way metallics are rendered in GI lighting in an effort to make them more "accurate," which I can only assume was done in an attempt to alleviate some of the problems I just mentioned about inconsistent metallics. Some items, such as the Elixis skins, indeed color better than they had before. A vast majority of items look much, much worse, while some (usually more recently released items) look fine. For the 500 or so items that are currently bugged, the problem manifests itself in two ways- Colors are way too saturated, with many gold-like colors seeming to have an additional red tint added to them. Specular mapping bugging out on certain colors, which makes the metal look more like glossy plastic If you would like to test this out, take an affected weapon like Silva & Aegis Prime, or Tiberon Prime, and preview the colors on the 11th row of the Classic Saturated color palette. As you preview the darker golds, you will see the red tinting problem I mentioned. For the second problem, preview the 5th row on the same palette. As you preview the darker blues, you will see the weird bugging out with the specular. Some blues will look black, some will look like plastic, and some will look shiny as they should be. Some items having more saturated metallics than they should is a huge problem- since we can't individually color attachments, you end up with ugly mismatching metallics like this- Spoiler Note how the arm is a softer gold, versus the body being much more saturated. Also, the shoulder pieces have the softer gold, but the torso and leg armors do not. Pretty much all my warframes look like this, especially the older ones that I've used tennogen+prime details on, like Loki and Frost I have already tested almost everything in the game, except the founders stuff and some of the warframe alt helmets I couldn't be bothered to check, and have compiled a list of said items that exhibit this strange behavior- Primaries: Spoiler Amprex Argonak
