Mission starts up fine but no enemies spawn so the mission fails to due to inactivity, can't repair consoles cause we can't collect samples. Having never played Infested Salvage before I was extremely confused as to what to do. Saw reddit posts of this bug as far as 5 years ago, seems Infested Salvage is just inherently broken.
