Radiation Damage Seems To Be Just A Little Bit.... Lame.

So, it seems to me that with the current damage system got the short end of the stick. I mean, with all the other dual elements, aside from maybe blast, there is a significant advantage to using it over just the base, except for radiation. The damage boost towards robotics is half of what electricity does and electricity does not have negatives to it.

Also, regarding the negatives, it does not make much logical sense for it do to reduced damage to infested. Since the infestation is supposedly a virus, radiation should rip it apart just like it does to the cells of human flesh. Infact the only thing that seems to make sense about the damage type is the weakness to shields, as it is possible to deflect radiation away with magnetic fields and such. Also, practices such as radiation hardening make radiation damage less likely to occur in electronics, and I would think the Corpus would use those techniques when constructing their robots. The damage type should be changed to deal a small bonus to health and infested, perhaps 25%, as radiation is probably going to do more damage to cells and other biological components than anything else.

well the morning before they revamped it to 3 weaknesses and resistances each (its now 3 and 2, for the record), I recall radiation being +++ effective against infested. that was when the damage system was all still in flux. I like to think they won't make any more major changes, but who knows?

for now, yes, radiation is extremely underwhelming (but radiation ignis looks so cool!), but DE said they will be adding new factions and enemies, so hopefully each damage type will have its day

Forget about the damage, because its legit against grineer and corpus, just because it doesnt have a +999999% doesnt mean its bad.

And have you tries proccing it? it makes them fight there teamates!

support class, shoot the heavy grineer = win!

While it is true that the damage type still does some amounts of work, it still is logically inconsistent with science as a whole. Had the damage type been called "mind control juice" or something to that effect, it would be fine, but there is no reason why radiation should do less to a virus than it does to a machine. The "science" in "science-fiction" is missing in this particular instance.

Right now electricity on it's own is more effective on robotics than radiation, da hek? Radiation definitely needs to be the more effective element on robots to compensate for the extra mod space requirement, and they should bring back it's effectiveness on Infested too (cause as you said, it made sense to destroy them on a cellular level).

People need to realise that in the end not everything in this game should make 100% scientific sense.

Or else then the elements would be lenient towards one particular faction.

Let DE change the values to make it even. Even if not 100% scientifically accurate.

While this is true, it needs to have at least some sense. The radiation doing reduced damage to something biological than what it does to a machine has about the same amount of logic about it that the bo staff would have if it did primarily slash damage. You could say not everything needs to be 100% scientifically accurate, but the fact still stands that it is a stick with no sharp edges slicing people in half.
